If you travel by car and want to spend a couple of days in a hotel with a character I recommend Villa Bongiovanni. This carefully refurbished 18th century villa offers everything you need at a very modest price. The only issue for some may be relatively small rooms.

This villa has been restored carefully to preserve much of its charming features with only a few large high ceilinged rooms. They have installed an elevator for those who can't manage the stairs. The rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds and well equipped bathrooms. We were given several recommendations for restaurants and they were both excellent in their different...

The building is nicely restored with a big and well-maintained garden. The room was comfortable and clean. The host was always ready to help us and recommended good restaurants to try. The breakfast was fine with a good variety of choices. A good location for those who would like to explore the area of Lake Garda and the neighbouring cities....

The Villa was absolutely brilliant, couldn't fault it. Very clean and the breakfast provided was delicious! Also, villa bongiovanni is set in a great location in Locara, which is close to San Bonifacio and Verona. In San Bonifacio, there is a train station, and you can catch the train to Venice, which took about 1 and a half hours. The...

The mansion at Villa Bongiovanni was just that, a stately mansion nestled within the farming community, a very pleasant change from the hotels that we have been staying in these past few days. We were greeted upon our arrival and given a room on the second floor overlooking the rear of the property and the Soave hills in the distance....

We were really impressed by the villa and its facilities. We have been staying in 3 bed room on 3rd floor and everything was fantastic - room furnishing, bathroom, view from the room. Villa has beautiful garden where you can sit and have a coffee or glass of local "Villa Bongiovanni" vine (which is very good). Villa is situated 30...

Start with the 18-foot high ceilings and rooms filled with antiques. End with a lavish breakfast made only for you -- parma ham, out-of-the-oven bread, cereals, cheeses and on and on. There was one other room occupied, so we felt like vineyard magnates. The grounds are spacious and the village is quiet with little else to offer. Claudio, the owner...

Everything in this hotel is outstanding: beautiful building decorated with style and good taste, quiet location, friendliness of staff, room comfort, good breakfast, prices and value for money. Unlike other villas in Italy now recycled as hotels, this one respects the original elements with superb good taste. It is located in a middle point between Vicenza, Verona, Padova, the Garda...

If I have another chance to be near Verona I would surely stay here again. Our family including 16yo gaughter spent 4 nights here and are absolutely satisfied with this charming Villa. The building is old but of course renovated in a nice manner and is noble-looking. Interiors of the rooms and halls are stylish and nicely decorated. Rooms are...
