Yes, the Cortijo del Marqués is a bit off the beaten path but that's also what makes it so special... it's in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by amazing countryside and at the same time it's only 25 minutes to the center of Granada, with its world-famous Alhambra! A really nice boutique hotel which is ideally suited for visiting Granada but staying outside the city. The building has been fantastically restored and the rooms are spacious - having no TV was a big plus for us, but the WiFi where was excellent. The food was really good and I enjoyed the wine list. Why not 5*, well that's down to the staff - a bit hit and miss, some were brilliant, attentive, welcoming, customer focussed but one gentleman couldn't raise a smile and I waited a long time for the coffee that didn't come. It makes a difference, we moved on from here to another hotel - look at my reviews - and all staff were switched on and shaped an amazing experience.

Tranquil boutique hotel , set in glorious rolling countryside but within easy reach of Granada . Very friendly and welcoming , excellent food and wine and very comfortable accommodation with a fabulous view and many places to read and relax.

This is a lovely hotel which really is perfectly placed in the middle of no where to have a relaxing break. The surrounding country side is truly spectacular. The view from the Silo room is a living screensaver!. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is very good value and of a high quality, the wine list is very good for a small hotel. Would really recommend this gem

An excellent and well cared for converted Manor House. Each room is individually created and decorated, and the courtyard and pool areas havens to relax. The food and wine recommendations are very good so well worth staying there for dinner. Saves a drive too! The couple who own and run this 15 room hotel are very attentive and truly care for their guests. A new favourite for us and I’ve been in the travel business all my life! Steve

Wow, what a beautiful hotel. Set in the middle of rolling hills surrounded with olive groves, it is breath-taking. We stayed in the stables, our room was extremely spacious, decor was lovely and bed was comfortable. We loved the pool area, especially with the roses blossoming. This hotel is complete serenity. The dinners are not to be missed, as the chef sets a 4 course menu each night - the quality is fantastic. We had booked to eat out at 2 restaurants in Granada and ended up cancelling because we didn't want to miss the chef's food! The hotel is easily accessible to Granada via taxi, we made 2 trips into Granada during our stay and the hotel were really accommodating at assisting with our transport needs. We also booked the horse riding tour through the hotel which is one of our favourite memories from the trip - riding on horseback through a national park! I consider myself a regular visitor of this Cortijo and there are good reasons for that. The hosts are super friendly and more than willing to go the extra mile to make sure you have nothing to worry about. It feels like every year new rooms with a unique theme are added, yet, the soothing character of the hotel is not compromised. The food is excellent, the wines even better. For me this is the best place to unwind, re-energize, relax and enjoy.

This hotel is a wonderful and relaxing place to stay. It consists of a number of charming buildings in a fabulous countryside setting, creating the perfect get away. The on-site restaurant serves very high quality and delicious food and dinner is a delightful, well presented 4 courses full of fresh vibrant ingredients to tickle the palate. There is an extensive and impeccably chosen wine list and helpful suggested wines alongside the dinner offering each day. The dining room is a generously proportioned airy, comfortable space. The hosts and staff are friendly, attentive and know their business incredibly well. We stayed in Los Olivos, a family suite with two split level, well proportioned bedrooms and lounge, very comfortable and full of rustic Spanish country charm. Whether it’s an evening walk among the olive groves surrounded by hills, relaxing by the pool with the mountains of the Sierra de Huetor National Park and Sierra Nevada behind it as your backdrop, a drink or tapas in the beautiful grounds or a short trip to Granada and it’s magnificent Alhambra Palaces or other picturesque nearby towns that appeals, I’d suggest you can’t go wrong here. We are sadly driving away from a fabulous 3 night stay at this wonderfully relaxing retreat hotel. The food was fabulous; breakfast, lunch and dinner! The wine recommendations and sangria delicious. The owners very friendly and informative, and we thoroughly enjoyed the serenity and peace out of busy lives. Everything was so clean and well maintained. The pool was refreshing to cool off from the welcome sunshine and we were given maps of routes that we could run from the hotel! Thank you for a lovely start to our holiday!
