Guests frequently commend Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada Resort & Spa for its prime location and the staff's friendly service, despite occasional slow response times. The modern amenities, including heated pools and varied dining options, are popular among travelers, although some feel there's room for improvement.
While the rooms are praised for their cleanliness, issues with noise levels due to thin walls have been called out. Moreover, many guests feel that the hotel does not provide good value, pointing to pricey services and additional costs.

Very nice hotel and very well located between the marina and the center of playa Blanca but staying quiet. Less than 5 minutes walk from playa dorada where it is possible to rent deckchairs and very close by car to the beaches of papagayo. It is possible to rent a car at the hotel. The staff is very welcoming. We had the preferred option club with sea view room (to be preferred because some rooms really have views of the parking lot). Preferred club: reserved pools, mini bar included, a room with drinks and food (sandwiches, pastries, cakes, fruit, yogurt, drinks) included all day, a quieter space reserved for pdj. The pdj is very complete: fresh smoothies, pancakes, eggs of all kinds... the evening buffets are very good (desserts are just to improve but I'm difficult!) there is a theme every night. We also tried an à la carte restaurant (blue water grill) with delicious Canarian specialties, this dinner was included I believe because we were staying a week. Swimming pools heated to 24 degrees! At the start a courtesy room (to be booked in advance) is possible for 30 minutes which allows to take a shower and change before departure. I did not test the spa but we had access to 1 hour free for all facilities. There is also a show every evening (flamenco, songs...) at 9.30pm. The hotel is 45 minutes away from Teguise by car. And about 1 hour from the north (Haría...). However, it is a great hotel, not a boutique hotel!

We have stayed at Dreams twice this year (April and July). Firstly, it is in a great location where you have the option of walking to the marina one way and the town the other way. The walk along the seafront is lovely.
The rooms are well laid out with a separate loo (we had a pool view special offer room via Jet 2) and we overlooked the kids pool. I would have preferred a view over the main pool or sea view but these are only for 'preferred' guests and we could not justify the extra 'preferred club' cost just for the view.
We stayed all inclusive on both stays and found the food to be excellent. For us, with a 14 year old, it gives each of us the option to choose something we like and we all found breakfast, lunch and dinner to be great. Whilst we stay all inclusive, we also go out for dinner to the local restaurants a few times (3 out of 7 nights typically) and would highly recommend Jungle Vibes.
We don't drink alcohol but AI gives the flexibility of having coffees, soft drinks, non alcoholic beers, non alcoholic cocktails, hot chocolate etc etc so it works for us and means we can stay on the sunbeds/by the pool most of the day - something we enjoy doing.
One thing I have noticed for next year is a significant price increase so we would only return if the price was right. We paid £2.8k for 6 days in April and £3.4k for 7 days in July (both out of school holidays) for 2 adults and 1 x 14 year old. (Jet 2 do offer free child places up to the age of 14 for some hotels off peak) Prices next year are looking to be £5k+ which would be too much to pay, in my opinion, for this hotel. Once you are getting towards Ikos prices, then I would recommend an Ikos holiday vs a Dreams holiday as that is a real 5* luxury AI experience.
I would say Dreams is more of a 4 star holiday (Jet 2 bill it as a 5*) but the staff do go out of their way to help and are very pleasant. Rooms are cleaned to a good standard and you get fresh pool towels daily, a free mini bar, lovely amenities in the bathroom, great hairdryer, robes, fluffy towels (changed daily) etc

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
The location is perfect, step outside onto the strip and you’re directly at the Playa Dorada beach, walk 10 mins either way on the strip and you’ll find lots of bars and restaurants.
The hotel is great, very clean and well maintained. There’s 4 pools to choose from and a lot of choice for food and drinks with different restaurants, cafes, lounges and pool bars.
Our favourite pool bar was Sea Legs, the view towards Fuerteventura from the infinity pool is amazing, we really enjoyed relaxing here with a few drinks during the day.
We chose the Preferred Club Unlimited Luxury option, we had an ocean facing room which was very spacious and kept clean. It felt expensive at the time of booking but we both felt like it was great value by end of trip as all food and drinks were covered in that package so we could relax and eat and drink as much as we wanted to.
The hotel and room was always kept very clean and they restocked our minibar every day and gave us great toiletries.
We used their Spa twice which was a nice relaxing escape.
Entertainment is good, they put on some good shows and music. My favourite night was the casino night. Would be great if entertainment could go on longer than the 1 hour though.
Great hotel and we’d definitely choose it again when we go back to Lanzarote.

Dreams is a beautiful spotless hotel in a superb location on Playa Blanca front with easy walking to the fabulous Marina & the harbour in the other direction with plenty shops & gorgeous restaurants . The hotel has good size rooms with plenty of wardrobe space and a separate bathroom with a walk in shower & a separate toilet which is a good idea although I do think the toilet should have some sanitising gel in . Rooms & bathrooms were cleaned thoroughly & white fluffy towels replaced daily . Robes, slippers & many complimentary toiletries were to hand . Staff at the hotel were pleasant & worked well but I think were understaffed at the bar at night. The entertainment was quite good with some great singers & casino night which was lots of fun . Was great not to have to sit through mini discos although the hotel did have one on the footy pitch . We overlooked the children’s pool that had slides & inflatables one day which was actually quiet the main pool was busier . We also pre booked a Balinese bed in the infinity pool which was heaven, relaxing on the bed looking out to sea with a buzzer for the waiter to serve you with drinks & cocktails. All was wonderful apart from the food which did not have the wow factor for me . I was actually served raw chicken in one of the a la carte restaurants I’m sure it was still clucking . The staff were very apologetic & gave me a good quality bottle of wine . In Italian restaurant I asked for a margarita pizza which came like a plate full of thick cold tasteless cheese I did manage to get small pieces of base round the outside , I also was served a soggy toasty & cold chips needless to say I never ate in the a la carte restaurants again . The main buffet was just okay , plenty choice but not of good quality , the cakes looked tastier than they were with the ice cream having no taste at all . The alcoholic drinks , most were premium drinks but I had to pay €4 for premium baileys. I was AI but not preferred club so not sure if this made a difference . Shame about the food as this is what lets this hotel down .

We had a really lovely time here. The resort was fresh, modern and spacious. The location and views are spectacular. We were welcomed with a glass of bubbly and some iced flannels and had our luggage taken to our room. It was spacious with a beautiful ocean view and was at the quiet side of the hotel which we asked for as part of the Preferred Club option. The bed was very comfortable, the linen was very good quality and we had big fluffy towels in the bathroom which were fresh every day. It was nice to watch the sunrise each morning and have a coffee on the balcony. We chose to have a lighter breakfast of fresh melon, papaya and grapefruit followed by toast and coffee in the preferred lounge. Staff were all friendly and helpful and our room was kept spotless. We enjoyed drinks and meals in the resort restaurants as part of the all inclusive package however we also ate out a couple of times and the local food was delicious. We tried the resort buffet and tucked in to all types of food. Very nice, no tummy problems for us at all. Pool-wise, we tended to stay at the adults only Sugar Reef pool as we wanted a quiet time, however we did try out the other areas which were excellent as well. Plenty of sunbeds were available, everything was spotless and we were pretty impressed. The barman at the sugar reef pool made excellent drinks for us and we had a great time just chilling and taking in the views. We also spent some time on the beach just a few metres from the hotel, which was very handy. As a treat we spent an hour in the resort spa which was the cherry on the cake. The pool, sauna, steam room then jacuzzi was a real tonic and we would definitely come back for a longer stay and perhaps enjoy some spa treatments next time as well. Dreams is a big resort catering for a lot of holidaymakers and they do a great job providing a range of different options. Thank you to all the team at Dreams for giving us a wonderful holiday, we look forward to returning.
PS, we saw a shooting star which you can see in one of the photos!

Lovely relaxing break with my husband early September. Would definitely return to hotel, can’t fault the cleanliness and the staffs hard work. The hotel was fully assessable with lifts and slopes. We went preferred (PC) all inclusive and it is definitely worth the money. We spent our days relaxing around sea legs which is the preferred family pool that is an infinity pool with a swim up bar. No stress over sunbeds as there was plenty! Food was good, but repetitive - as expected. Preferred club breakfast was good, you don’t book any restaurants you just turn up this can therefore mean there are queues as you are seated rather than choosing your own seat. so be prepared for that, however they did move quickly. On a couple of occasions we were given a dirty cup or crockery, so some more TLC around the dishwasher is needed. A la carte restaurants is a little deceiving as they aren’t all open every night, you have a choice of 2/3 that are open for a block of 3 nights and it is the same menu per restaurant per night. We actually decided to eat out one night as we felt fed up of the same choices. Little disappointing as when we went to the Asian fusion I asked for no prawns in the noodles and was told it was already made up so they were unable to do this. There is a preferred lounge that can be accessed by PC guests, great way to top up during the day if you are half board, on every occasion when we went in there, sadly other guests had left a big mess around them so hygiene and maintenance of the lounge is a must for dreams to improve on. Location of hotel is great, we did adventure out, when coming out of back gates turn left, some nice little shops, and on a Saturday and Wednesday there is a market - marina rubicon. Menu’s and information can be found on the hotel web browser, QR codes everywhere to access this. We did book a Bali bed (cabana) €35 for the day around sea legs pool, I am aware that if you aren’t PC but book a Bali bed this gives you access to the PC pool (obviously if your not all inclusive you would pay for drinks etc). Had a sea view room, very modern and cleaned everyday, turn down each night as well however this seemed to take place at 6-7pm which was our getting ready time as restaurants didn’t open for dinner until 7.30. Entertainment is personal preference, but they tried, would recommend taking a pack of cards. We discovered a Facebook group ‘friends of dream’s Lanzarote playa dorada resort and spa’ and found this very useful with tips etc. overall great stay however I wouldn’t say it’s a 5 star hotel more like a 4 however they are close to being a 5.

We spent a week here in November and had a great and very relaxing break, celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary whilst we were away.
I wouldn't say the hotel is a 5 star but more a good 4 star. We went Preferred Club, B&B as we like going out and there are some great eateries, particularly in the Harbour - Shibumi and Le Petit Jardin to name but two we would recommend.
The room we had was great - the bed very comfortable and the bathroom had everything you might need, even if it wasn't the biggest bathroom we've had.
Generally, everywhere was spotlessly clean and well maintained, the exception being the Preferred Club Lounge which felt a little neglected at times there was food debris and dirty plates and glasses left around.
The Breakfast was great and there was a really good choice of options from fresh fruit, cooked food to breads to eggs cooked to order and a crepe/waffle station too.
We ate in the hotel at Himitsu one evening and were a little disappointed - the food was rather bland and not really authentic Asian cuisine. Although perfectly edible - it just lacked spice/flavour.
The Main bar (only bar open in the evening), has entertainment each night and whilst we didn't spend much time there, guests seemed to be enjoying themselves. The only problem for us is that there is no other bar open and being right by the entertainment, it was very busy and rather chaotic (not clear whether it was waiter service or order at the bar). I suspect they didn't quite have the staff to meet demand.
Pool area as really good and kept very clean with plenty of sun beds.
Staff we met were all great - polite, welcoming and keen to provide excellent service.
Catering for the number of guests and AI as well and non AI guests, probably leaves the hotel in "limbo" and makes it impossible to be a truly luxurious five star hotel, but I am not sure that is what they are aiming at anyway, and the price you pay reflects this.
Overall a great location and good hotel. It isn't 5 star but a good 4 star and we will most likely return.

The location of this hote is ideal in the middle between the Marina and the beach. The grounds of the hotel are also pleasant as is the evening entertainment. Bar staff work hard to appease and accommodate all guests but there are just not enough of them and there laid back attitude does not help the overall experience for guests. The food at the restaurants is manageable but lacking any real flavour. The pools are good and look clean. First impressions the reception area needs updating walls damaged and unattractive . We were offered a hot towel and drink on arrival which was a nice touch, however this is where the hospitality seemed to stop. On arrival to our room: the room Was large with sea views however it had a very dated and unclean feel about it and stunk of body odour the smell was lingering and would not go away. We told reception and they did not really care not wanting to ruin our holiday we said that we would see how it was later on. On returning to the room later on the smell was still there and I knew I would not be able to sleep as it was making me feel quite sick so we let reception know they sent a maintenance man and between them they agreed to move us to another room. This new room Felt fresher. However the safe was broken and damaged. We were absolutely exhausted from travelling all day and did not want to waste any more of our energy complaining so left it As it was. The next day at 9am housekeeping were banging on the door saying they will clean the room I asked them to come back after half an hour. We were not In our rooms the entire day arriving back at 5pm. There was a notice on the door saying we did not clean your room as you did not want to be disturbed. As we did not have any hand soap in the bathroom I was extremely disappointed with this message. We have asked for hand soap and right now are waiting for it I don’t think they are going to deliver it. Very disappointed with the hospitality here I am finding the staff on the front desks very rude and unapproachable!

Whilst we enjoyed our stay at Dreams the hotel does not have a 5 Star feel about it. The building itself has a somewhat dated appearance and does not exude the luxury and quality that we expected. Many 4 Star hotels are better than Dreams. We booked b&b Preferred Club. Our room was fine with a balcony overlooking the pool and sea. The daily replenishment of drinks and snacks in the room was welcome. The daily cleaning was excellent though turn down service was pointless as they came to the room typically 6-7 pm whilst we were in the room preparing to go out for the evening. The Preferred Club breakfast buffet was plentiful and varied enough for us but table service for hot drinks was a little lacking. Many bowls were chipped and we noticed numerous dirty plates. The main pool area is a little tired, many parasols are ripped and/or damaged and some unusable. The sunbeds are cheap plastic ones and some dirty from spilled drinks etc. I was surprised there was no waiter service around the pool for a 5 Star hotel but no problem for us. We tried the Preferred Club pools but they were not our scene - small, quiet and isolated but might suit others. The Preferred Club lounge provided inclusive snacks and soft drinks all day until 6.00 pm which was a welcome perk though was actually a bit naff. The snacks were basic, the coffee machine was out of action on 3 occasions, the tables not cleaned etc. Replenishment of the snacks was intermittent so sometimes no wraps or crisps for example. The evening entertainment was varied and good though the venue is makeshift at the bottom of the main stairs in the bar area. Obtaining a seat with a view is tricky with numerous columns in the seating area. There were numerous poolside activities and evening entertainments though there was no information boards to notify guests. Though information was available via the hotel’s app, it was often inaccurate. We dined at Marina Rubicon every night so can’t comment on the hotel’s restaurants. We had a good time, socialised with other guests, but would not return.

With the preferred club lounge providing snacks and drinks throughout the day with a drinks machine in the room, and mini fridge replenished daily free of charge I didn’t need to buy drinks. ( Alcohol other than 2 bottles of beer in the fridge is available from the bars at cost. ) It also gave you a free hour in the spa which has a 25m pool which enabled me see what was on offer. . If like me you use an electric wheelchair or scooter be aware that the excursions are out of the question as apparently the coaches are not insured to carry them in the hold! . The staff were very helpful and adjusted things as needed. eg the shampoo etc in a disabled shower room were the opposite end of the long shower cubicle impossible to reach from the seat! (They agreed to leave them on the floor by the seat ) Although it has A La Carte restaurants only one meal is free. Breakfast and evening meal are buffet service but there were staff on hand who offered help. I made the mistake of going to the non-preferred club restaurant for breakfast one morning. The lack of staff to assist was is stark contrast to the preferred club dining room staffing levels. The rooms are as I expect in a 5* hotel, clean with comfortable beds, air conditioning etc. The turn down service could be any time from 6.30 (I told them not to bother!) Large private balcony - my room had a sea view. The promenade was long and ideal for wheelchairs, with restaurants and shops within 5 minutes in either direction. Taxi ranks were plentiful. My wheelchair was able to get to the ferry so I spent a day on Fuertoventura - again coaches wouldn’t take my electric wheelchair. The hotel complex is wheelchair accessible throughout. Out of season an ideal location for a quiet holiday

Dear Cass914, Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us and we are glad to hear that you had a peaceful and pleasant stay. It is a pleasure to know that you found the preferred club lounge and in-room amenities such as the beverage machine and mini fridge useful. We are glad that you also enjoyed the free hour at the spa and our accessible facilities in general. We take note of your comments about the adapted shower and regret the inconvenience this caused you. We will review these details to ensure that our facilities are even more comfortable and functional for all our guests. We have also taken on board your comments about the breakfast in the non-preferred restaurant, and will work to improve the service in all areas of the hotel. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the comfort of your room, the balcony overlooking the sea and the accessibility of the promenade. We regret, however, the limitations related to the transportation of electric wheelchairs on excursions, and we will explore ways to better support our guests in this regard. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future and provide you with an even more satisfying experience. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to share any further suggestions or plan your next visit. Best regards, Guest Experience.

The mini bar is re stocked daily with beer, orange juice, water and crisps for being preferred.
The food in the preferred lounge is ok if you like white bread sandwiches with processed ham, crisps and cakes. You can’t get fresh milk anywhere after breakfast and you have to steal it to get it. The World cafe is good if you like salads and Luke warm food. There is a microwave but it’s too small for a plate. If you want water you have to pay 4 euros a bottle unless you are on all inclusive.
All inclusive doesn’t mean all inclusive. You have to pay an additional fee for an ever increasing number of drinks.
I have been here more than a dozen times as my wife likes the situation. I dislike it more every time I come.
NB latest nonsense - from yesterday, if you want to watch the TV in the preferred lounge you have to go to reception. Someone has to then come back to the room and put on the channel you want ( there is only sky news and bbc news for English speakers). The member of staff then takes the remote control back to reception.
If you want to change the channel you have to go back to reception and repeat the process.
Oh and if you want to change the volume on the Tver you, again, have to repeat the process.
GOOD LUCK!
