Hotel's Favourite
wow...where to start. we have stayed in a few 4 star all inclusive hotels over the years but this place blows them all out of the water. a lovely mix of all generations here definitely wasn't an old people's home as described by some. beautiful reception area where you are greeted by a lovely chilled glass of cava on arrival.room wasn't ready but wasn't a problem cases in locker room and then find our bearings, only waited an hour or so. rooms are spacious, clean and beds were comfortable and huge. food is really good, plenty of choice( i really don't know how people moan about the lack of choice if you can't find something to eat in here there is something seriously wrong with you) and real bacon at breakfast was a delicious surprise.the sight of a lovely ice bucket with your wine at evening meal is just a lovely touch and the long trousers rule is a minor inconvenience, just get changed into shorts after your meal it's not a problem. Kasbah restaurant for our once only free visit was beautiful and a nice little change. the no sunbed reservation before 9:30 rule is brilliant,no getting up at silly o'clock to reserve a bed and anyway there are plenty of beds around the 2 lovely pools so no need to rush. pool bar serves lovely lunchtime food, toasties, burgers, pizza, salads and my favourite the buffalo chicken wings all served to you as well as drinks to your table by the very polite and helpful staff(special mention to Angel he was lovely and a cheeky sense of humour) branded drinks as part of all inclusive are just the icing on the cake,Estrella lager, smirnoff vodka, bombay sapphire gin to name a few all served with proper bottled mixers but having Greygoose vodka in the AI was just amazing, again all served to your table by the lovely staff in the so relaxing piano bar while chilling to lovely music. i would loved to have met the main man Mr Jose Vasquez as i love reading his replies on here,he is very passionate about his hotel and quite rightly defends it whole heartedly. we will definitely be back here next year we are missing it already. i can't recommend this place highly enough

Dear Coling860, Thank you very much for your lovely review and rating of 5 points. I'm sorry that we have not met and talked personally. That was sure my fault, I'd like to talk to every guest, but in a huge hotel like ours, it is impossible, the time has not so many hours... but surely you have seen me. Tall, blond hair, young, handsome... hahaha.... nooooo.... I,m in my 50s, fit, but with my years, a mix of dark and white hair, and 1,70cm tall... I'll be honoured to talk to you next time you come. Contact us in advance if you have any wishes. Kind regards, José Angel Vázquez GM

If I could give 0 stars I would - This was the worst honeymoon ever was like being on hotels from hell. Where to start - Upgrade to privilege or lack there of Privilege service This is not what we were expecting, and majority was non existent after my husband fell ill on the plane with breathing issues, we wanted dinner in our room on the first night, hotel advised that Room service is chargeable whether you are privilege or not - The offer of food we got was Salad or nothing- we couldn't have the burger that was on the menu- we were not impressed that this was chargeable when someone is ill and cant make it to the restaurant. The below Highlighted in Yellow were never offered - This was not worth the 518 Euros that we paid. Privilege Services Access to Privilege lounge This is not great you have one little room with stale crisps that were only ever topped up and the bottom has never been changed since we got there, there was not food as described if there was it was fermented fruit that was left all day in the sun À la carte menu for breakfast and dinner Personalised check-in and check-out Personalised customer service Bali beds and sun loungers This was by the building work so we couldn't relax because of the building work noise and should have been moved so never used it and also anyone could go into this area whether you paid or not so again not a privilege , they say they checked but every time we went no one came to check iDock Station (for iPhone, iPod, iPad, MP3) Privilege bathrobe and slippers Exclusive pool towels VIP amenities- What was this? where was this ? never materialised. Preparation and cleaning of room (twice a day) This was never done twice a day lucky if this was done once a day, and not to a great standard, Lightbulb never got changed even asking 5 times went out and brought one so we could see Bellboy service - This was non existent and not once was this available Guest room Free parking 10% off Despacio treatments - This was only 5 % which is unacceptable when advertised as 10% as we used this and only got 5% off Complimentary Safe box Complimentary Nespresso coffee machine (daily refill) Pillow menu Bath or Shower Earth Collection Amenities Bathrobe and slippers Hairdryer Cosmetic mirror Scales King Size bed (2x2) or Two beds (1,35x2) Sea views Pool views Don't waste your money not like any of the other H10 hotels so poor Building Works As Previously mentioned this was so loud that it disturbed our relaxation, as Privilege bed are right next to building works as is the lounge so we could not relax or really use these amenities due to the noise, this is totally unacceptable for paying an additional 518,00 Euros- I feel they should move the lounge and beds during this period of renovation as all privilege guests complained during stay and the hotel were very reluctant to do anything. Food We notified the hotel of my husbands intolerance to certain foods and that his choice as very limited to plain chicken through out the stay, They did very little to come up with inventive ideas for this and we ended up eating out ( When we played for all inclusive) as there was nothing, we very really had breakfast as again not much choice. The one day we did decied to try the buffet on Oriental night we found cockroaches crawling over the starters, made the staff aware they took the dishes away we saw them take them off and bring same dishes back . NOT ACCEPTABLE. then in the veggie lasagne there was a fly again reported to staff took this away and the meal and brought a fresh one out - when reporting to manager he said this is normal for canaries to see cockroaches, we said '' what in food and he said yes'' again not acceptable . Hotel room cleaning Well where to start with this one, the cleaners were so bad that we had to keep asking for things, toilet rolls, fresh towels beds to be changed, light bulb to be replaced ( One I ended up replacing myself as took them 3 days to do this so went out to buy one) The floor on the balcony was never mopped until I Requested it , dirty toilets when we arrived this needed to be reported - we were supposed to be done twice a day as per privilege but never happened.

If I was "Normal" All Inclusive, I would give the hotel 5* but, sorry Jose, I can only give you 4* for the Privilege Upgrade. Most people have covered things very well in their reviews and I have to say that on the whole we had a very comfortable stay with the best service in all bars and restaurants we have encountered ever in a European Hotel. There were, however, 2 big negatives for us. The first was the bedroom temperature which was around 24C for most of our stay and could not seem to be reduced despite 4 visits from Maintenance, keeping the curtains closed most of the time and having the "cold" air blowing at maximum all the time. The Air Conditioning simply does not work and is not, contrary to what it might say on the website, individually controllable....it is centrally set and you can only control the amount of air/not the temperature of it. We did have a "hot" room facing the midday sun and we turned down the offer of a room change as we liked it's location so learned to live with the bedroom being excessively warm on the hotter days. I must add that Reception staff were very patient and helpful with the problem. The second negative was the quality of food in the Kasbah Restaurant and the reason why the Privilege Upgrade was a bit of a disappointment. The food was bland, almost unseasoned and certainly lacking any Middle Eastern Spices, and in some cases a downright disgrace. We had to send our soup back one night as it could only be termed "dish water" and I had a lot better curry in the main buffet than in the Kasbah. The steak/beef dishes were Ok but you feel you need 2 for a decent portion. On the other hand the quality of food in the Main Buffet was generally very good (except the soups which were awful every day) so we ate there 11 out of the 14 nights we stayed. The service in the Buffet was also unfailingly excellent whereas we had to ask 4 times for water "Con Gas" in the Kasbah one night...they obviously think you should drink "Sin Gas" and not query it. Now, having said all that...many things about the hotel were excellent and to show that we put our money where our mouth is. I have just booked a 3 week stay next November/December (again with the Privilege Upgrade even though we know we will just use the buffet most days) . So don't be put off by my review, just be realistic that everything in any hotel is not necessary 100% perfect. Just to add that I did speak with Jose whilst there, mainly about the Air Conditioning issue, and he does genuinely care about the service provided to his guests. He is very hands on and approachable so if you encounter any issues, just go speak with him (he isn't really the ogre he seems in some of his responses!)

We have stayed at this hotel several times because it is well-located, clean and comfortable, fairly priced and - most important contributing factors - the staff and organisation. The Privilege package (non-All Inclusive version) offers us the best value primarily because of quality and location of Privilege rooms; access to the recently-extended, very pleasant and quiet Kasbah restaurant for breakfast; and the Privilege sunbeds and sunbathing areas. We also make occasional use of the Privilege self-service bar and lounge which is a pleasant place to sit near the pool. The hotel rules forbid consuming and taking drinks out of the Privilege lounge (or be charged for them) and to some this is irksome but this restriction is completely reasonable and it helps to maintain the civilised atmosphere that prevails in this hotel. I can recommend getting up and out of the hotel before 0700 to walk along the coastal path to the lighthouse. Wear two layers as it's cool then and you will experience restorative, peaceful and quiet exercise and see darkness transform to a glow in the sky before first light (see photo) followed by a spectacular sunrise during a 1.25 hours' walk. The main restaurant operates as a large buffet, although personally I prefer a smaller set menu format, however the puddings are very good. The hotel has changed since our last visit to providing machine-filtered still and sparkling water - rather than bottled water which is preferable for drinking - although the filtered water may be greener. A final word on the excellent staff: they re a pleasure to interact with and seem to work hard with a very cheerful and helpful attitude.

Recently returned from another wonderful two week stay relaxing at the hotel. The weather was exceptional for November, hot and sunny every day. It was great to be able to swim in the outdoor pools and sea which were a comfortable temperature. The hotel is ideally situated on the sea front promenade for walks to the lighthouse or marina and for watching the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Room had a lovely sea view and was quiet and peaceful to relax on the balcony. The meals at the buffet restaurant, Kasbah and pool bar and the service was excellent as usual, all the staff are so friendly, helpful and work very hard. Good to catch up with regular guests and meet new ones. Looking forward to returning for New Year.
