This time we only popped in for drinks. The bar is just like it was 5, 10, 25 years ago. The srve coffee, no eapresso's or other wild variations, tea in old glasses, which you drink from old chairs. It's the atmosphere. Yuo will forgive them anything but change that. This is Schier and you are welcome to it. The...

Dfficult to explain what kind of hotel this is: the key word is trust. Trust that you are in good hands. The hotel has a bar which has'nt been changed for decades, and so is the lounge where guests have their drinks and read their books or play card. The restaurant is old fashioned in a good tradition: homecooked meals...

We have stayed and eaten here numerous times. This hotel/restaurant is one of the most pleasant where I have ever stayed. The Island is wonderful, and quiet most of the year, except during high summer and public holidays. I have to admit that the 5 star rating is because of the bar, the lounge and the restaurant. The hotel rooms...

This hotel is like an old lady. Not sexy anymore, but she can tell a lot of stories. 35 years ago I was in this hotel and it seems nothing is changed (only there is internet now). Don't expect much luxury, but the atmosphere is great and the people kind. Food and drinks are not expensive, but diner could be...

We stayed there for one night with a group of "wandel"-friends. Our room was fine. One of our other rooms did not have a bed until very late at night, after repeated requests, One other room did not have light in the bedroom; our friend there did not bother as the light in the bathroom did work. Fridaynight was extremely...

Although we stay in a private cabin, we often dine (and sometimes morning coffee) at the vd Werff. The coffie / bar area might be described as "island funky," but the formal dinning room features a sophistication matching mainland classic hotel kitchens. The staff is uniformly welcoming and professional, and the food is prepared and presented well. The meal cost...

I can only confirm the reviews about the island, hotel, rooms and dinner. You go the Schier for nature, biking with special bikes on the beach and Dutch Gin at the end of the day with some warm bitter-balls. Vd Werf is the best place to stay on this really beautiful island, where cars are in principle not allowed. DInner...

We know many people who have been there, having a different rating about the hotel. So we went there for 3 nights. The hotel touringcar is waiting at the ferry harbour and brings you in 5 min to the center of the village. In the hotel you feel like about seventy years back in time and nothing has changed since.The...
