I see I am not the only one who was disappointed after their stay in this hotel. I can't really say that the rooms were clean: cobwebs in every corner of the room accompanied by their inhabitants, mould in the bathroom, some members of the staff weren't all that friendly.
Also a huge pity that little children (aged till 12) were allowed in the sauna and pool area without anyone watching them. Hence: screaming and for us no relaxing and that's was the reason why we booked this weekend in the first place: a wellness weekend.
Good things: the lady in the bar was very nice and interested, her male companion who was attending the bar the next evening should follow her example.
A luxurious breakfast with a wide choice of products. Beware of the coffee; better order a capuccino or have tea.
We had a massage and that lady had magic hands. I wish she lived in my neighbourhood.

Upsides: Extremely beautiful and very relaxing surroundings. Lovely park. Dinner at the restaurant was fantastic. Good wine list. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Downsides: No milk in the coffee machine for breakfast, bed was shaped like the inside of a football, no toilet brush and one last thing that makes no sense. Why is the coffee cup in the room too small for the amount of coffee coming out of the machine when both the machine and the cup were the same brand? It simply doesn't make sense.

Booked a room in this hotel last weekend. When entering the room we see that the floor is full of stains. There is a thick layer of dust on the furniture. There is also a layer of dust on the remote control. The shower hose is defective, more water comes out of the hose than the shower head. Reported this to reception, the employee was willing to help. She gave us another shower hose, this one wasn't much better.
In the end she brought us another shower hose, this was better than the previous two. We were quite disappointed.
Breakfast the next morning was delicious, a wide variety of bread and spreads.

So me and my best girl had booked an arrangement. After some complications with the reservation desk (politeness is big here in France) we changed our arrangement because there was a special diner with music that saterday evening which we wanted to attend. All rooms are on the ground floor which is great. We were at the very end which means we really had to cross the whole hotel to get to the restaurant/ bar. Welcome drink with regional specialty was delicious. Some kids running an screaming really ruined it a bit so we decided to go for the promised peace and relaxation in the spa. We had also booked massages (cranio sacraal for her and massage Thai for me). So the wellness centre was crowded with little children, running, screaming, yelling, jumping and splashing all over. We were horrified. Parents were nowhere to be seen and since there is no hotel supervision this did not change for some time. We took our chance when the little monsters were all in the pool to seize control of the whirlpool and were soon joined by other (elderly) adults, also content to find some peace. The massages where for both of us excellent. This woman is a magicien! Whe did not return to the wellness centre even though most children had finally disappeared. The evening diner was very good with some dancing. Sadly there was nobody to explain the choice of the wine (wild meat diner with wine arrangement) even though I was very surprised to see white wines served with the meat. We both slept well. Bathroom was lovely with a good shower. Breakfast not enorm but enough choice with some sort of egg pancakes (delicious!). We took the opportunity to go to the Oisterwijkse Bossen en Vennen (other side of the road) and although it is beautiful there we were somewhat disappointed to come across other people every 100 meters or so.

It is located in a very quiet area with very good rooms, leisure facilities and excellent food. Plenty of opportunities for walking and biking. There are small restaurants in the forest as well where you can relax and have a beer.
Hotel provided a smart phone (free to use) which was a really nice touch, especially useful when you are out walking or biking.
The staff were very nice, courteous and speak very good English.

We found Landgoed de Rosep to be a good weekend getaway. We chose it because we wanted a place in a natural setting near Den Bosch and we got a rather good weekend deal over the internet. The hotel had an upscale feel and our impression is that it was well-managed.

The hotel is located in the nature and recreational area about 8 kms east of Tilburg and just south of Oisterwijk. It's not far from Efteling. You pretty well need a car to stay here. Parking is free.

The reception staff were efficient and helpful. We had a quiet, standard room in the back. Huge windows looked out onto a grassy courtyard. The room and bathroom were fine. As at any Dutch hotel, BBC and CNN were available on the TV. Some of the Dutch channels had English shows. (One quibble: there was no coffee maker in the room.)

The breakfast buffet was stocked with a wide range of breakfast items and attractively presented. Eggs were served in two different ways - boiled and as small pre-made omelettes. There was bacon and a selection of cold cuts and cheeses. The breakfast was not at the luxury level, but nor did it disappoint. It was pretty well what you would expect from a Dutch hotel like this.

There was a restaurant at the hotel (a rather nice one from the appearance), but we didn't eat there so I can't say anything about it.

The wellness area had four different saunas, a small pool, and a jacuzzi. (One or two things were not in operation when we were there.) There was also a superior hotel gym with machines, dumbells and a rather serious Smith machine. On the hotel walls there are momentos and photographs of the various football teams that have stayed there. (Perhaps that explains the Smith machine.)

The bar and restaurant have a large attached outdoor patio where on a nice day you can order your drinks, enjoy the sun, and take in the view of the pond complete with swans, coots and ducks.

Technically, there are two nature areas around the hotel: the Kampina and the Oisterwijk Woods and Fens. The main attraction of staying at this hotel is the easy access to the walking and cycling trails. The hotel hires out rather good bikes for €9 per day.

We enjoyed seeing not just the woods and lakes, but also the farms and countryside nearby. It's not particularly undeveloped or isolated. There are quite a few hotels, bungalow parks, eateries, and so on.

By the way, "Rosep" is a stream running through these parts. "Landgoed" means "estate".

The Landgoed de Rosep is a vast bungalow style hotel in the woods near Tilburg, south of Oisterwijk. Completlely surrounded by trees, with a beautiful large pond in front with fountain, it is a one storey bungalow hotel with several long wings for the rooms. Rooms a bit old-fashioned, but clean and functional. No frills.

Very nice bar and excellent restaurant with French cuisine. Top quality, perfect taste, experienced and polite staff! Recommendable!
