The Crown has definitely changed for the better! The atmosphere in the bar is so much better than it was a couple of years ago. Then it was a bit like being in church and it all felt rather corporate. But now it's like being in a village pub once again, as it was some thirty years ago, with banter and friendly conversation. The biggest difference is the friendly, cheerful and welcoming attitude of all the staff. That is so different from our last visit when everyone seemed rather "institutionalised". The food and beer in the evenings is good and breakfast is good. Lots of well behaved dogs which help to create a lovely family atmosphere. The decor in the conservatory restaurant still lacks a bit of atmosphere, but it is possible to eat in the bar or the attached room full of character furniture and memorabilia. and The rates vary quite a lot according to the days of the week you're staying so be aware of that when booking, but overall we felt we had value for money which wasn't the case two years ago. The room we had was fine. We were delighted and, I have to say, just a little surprised, to have had such a lovely stay, largely made by the relaxed but efficient style of all the staff who genuinley took the time to show an interest in their guests.

Absolutely loved our one night stay at The Westleton Crown. We were impressed with the family room, our children age 7 and 9 thought they were the best bunk beds ever! Had an amazing evening meal in the pub and a superb breakfast. Felt totally welcomed and would definitely stay again :)

This is a dog friendly hotel and we found it delightful the room , a large king was just right and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast on the first day was disappointing I sent the fried egg back as it was burnt and the rest of it looked as if it had been under a hot light for a while. They had a problem with the gas apparently. Breakfast the following day was better. The thing that got me was the beer was a bit expensive, at least £2 dearer than my local in Surrey but hey ho until I found out that there was a surcharge of 10 per cent for tourists that left a bitter taste. This maybe extensive in Suffolk so probably won’t go that way again

It was my 80th birthday yesterday and I asked The Crown at Westleton in Suffolk to lay on a special lunch for me and my wife and twelve friends. Events Manager, Vanessa , agreed that we could take over The Garden Room for the event and with the help of Restaurant Manager, Charlie, a menu, timetable and drinks were agreed. I am delighted to say the meal was a splendid success, the food and wines were greatly enjoyed by all and the service from the staff really made the event. Top marks to The Crown. A most enjoyable, relaxed and excellent event. I could not think of a better way to spend my 80th birthday!

We came away for a last minute romantic night. This meant the only available room was rated as good. Room was small but immaculately clean and comfortable. Service at dinner was exemplary, shame the same couldn’t be said about breakfast when after waiting for 15 minutes I had to ask for coffee and to order our hot breakfast. Our coffee came as in cups whereas others had cafetières. When we actually got service it was pleasant

The last time i was treated like family by a hotel, i was at Claridge's, so the team here are doing something right! Beautiful decor, delicious food and drinks (and offered to taste the 0% bubbly before I chose), cosy, well appointed room, I loved everything about my stay at The Crown. Will certainly be back.

Pleasant welcome on arrival. Single occupancy of comfortable double - absolutely minimal floor space around bed. Comfortable mattress. DBB rate meal pre-booked for 7.15pm as p/o table of 3 arrived and ordered promptly. Starter and wine served almost straight away. Main course served at 9pm, no apology or explanation - far too late. We were seated in the conservatory along with all other residents who had identical lengthy delays. Fell far short of the quality service for how the Westleton Crown presents itself. Checkout and departure - cursory and dismissive member of staff, settled additional charges and as a matter of course requested a breakdown. I was told this would be emailed afterwards. It was but not breakdown so don't expect to be able to check you have been correctly charged as nothing is itemised and the hotel has no system where you sign a tab against your room.

Lucy A, thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback about your experience with us. Receipts are always available and we do have a tab system in place. We have larger rooms available should you wish for more space. Nobody waited 90 minutes for main courses and to my knowledge a manager wasn’t notified of your issues. I will look I into this further. Thank you. David.

This is a gem of a pub/ hotel. We have now stayed here twice and the stay was absolutely lovely. The room was well presented with everything needed for our stay, including our individual requests. The breakfast was very tasty and well presented with plenty of options available all set in a light airy conservatory. We also booked for evening meals which never disappoint. We took our dog who was treated so well. She loved the treats provided and a sausage at breakfast!! The staff went out of their way to make our stay a perfect relaxing one and we will definitely be returning in the warmer months. There is so much to see and do in the area and could have stayed longer.

Absolutely loved my weekend away here! The rooms were beautiful, the HUGE bath in my room was to die for, and the bed was quite possibly the best sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel! The bar was adorable, and the food in the restaurant was incredible. For starters I had best ham hock I’ve ever had, and the chicken burger for mains was *chefs kiss* they need to bottle the sauce! The lounge is the perfect place to relax with a few drinks on a very happy full belly. Staff were warm and inviting, especially to my pup who was thoroughly spoilt with the well thought out pup friendly additions. (He was a particular fan of the sausages available at dinner and breakfast!) Will 100% be recommending and visiting again!

A fabulous meal in the dining room with friends who were staying there overnight. Expensive but superb presentation, delicious and perfectly presented. We all thoroughly enjoyed the meals and our evening together there. Well done to the chef and kitchen crew. Only one grumble, hence not a full rating of perfection…. The waitress who served us (tall, stunning lady) couldn’t crack even the slightest of a smile, she was so cold and ignored our requests for extra water, the guy on duty responded immediately. Well done him!
