Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our stay at the Middleton House Bed & Breakfast was very comfortable and convenient for our visit to exhibit at the Bath & West Showground. At every point during our stay, all the staff were very friendly and welcoming, very efficient and there was a good choice on the breakfast menu.

Gill and Kevin were friendly hosts who go the extra mile and they well deserve their ROSE award from Visit England, for service excellence! There were lots of thoughtful touches in the room such as Christmas chocolates and a mini Christmas tree, as well as a well stocked welcome tray with bottled water and homemade goodies. There is even a box of 'things you may have forgotten' in a dressing table drawer. There was so much choice for breakfast which Kevin cooks to perfection. It is very good value for money, especially being 4 star gold, and we are looking forward to staying again soon. Thank you Kevin and Gill

As previously, made very welcome. Room clean, warm, comfortable, well equipped with toiletries and drinks/nibbles. Can't think of anything extra you could need. Breakfast amazing, plentiful, cooked to order at your choice of time. Can't think of more a B & B could offer.

I have stayed at this wonderful B&B a few times & never been disappointed. Gill is a wonderful host & Kev cooks a fabulous breakfast as well as a super evening meal if required. For breakfast there is a good choice of options but I always go for the cooked breakfast which never disappoints. Rooms are very clean & have all the facilities you require with a selection of teas, coffees & water. My room was spacious and the bed was large and very comfortable. Extra blankets & pillows are also provided. On the day I was leaving my car had starting problems but Kev immediately offered to charge the battery for me while I went to work. On my return the car started & I managed got home without any further problems. Thanks Kev, saved me calling out the breakdown company. Thanks again to Gill & Kev who are wonderful hosts.

Repeat visit after far too long away ( Covid lockdowns didn't help ) but our welcome could not have been warmer .... nothing seemed too much trouble for Gill & Kevin, both of whom deserve at least 11 out of 10 for hospitality and thoroughly deserve all the positive reviews by other guests who have been fortunate enough to find Middleton House ....

A fantastic place to stay. The rooms are immaculate, with lovely country views of the fields and cows from our bedroom window. We were very warmly welcomed with tea and scones and upgraded to a King size room at no extra cost. Friendly hosts - we will definitely stay there again.

Always a warm welcome from Kevin and Gill. Been stopping here for years and I can honestly say I do not need to look else where. The room is always exceptionally clean and well presented. There is a selection of drinks available and some home-made treats, which is a lovely personal touch.

Gill and Kevin gave us a warm and friendly welcome after a long drive. We we shown to our rooms and then had tea and home made scones on arrival in the guest lounge. We stayed here while we worked on an event at the Bath & West Showground, which was only a short drive away. Lovely clean and well appointed rooms, everything had been thought about, from face cloths, to sanitised remote control. The hospitality tray had a good variety of teas/coffees, bottled water for the kettle and a lovely big mug for my early morning cuppa. Attention to detail 10/10. A lovely quiet location, blackout curtains and a delicious breakfast were much appreciated. On our second night, we had a takeaway in the guest dining room and made use of the lounge with all the wonderful board games. Thank you Gill and Kevin, you made our stay so easy and pleasant.
