Longbridge House is a grade II listed and AA 4 star rated B&B - just the place to be if you're looking for a relaxed, friendly retreat with a touch of luxury. It's historic setting is somewhere where you can take a deep breath and unwind following a day out exploring the Somerset and the Mendip Hills - then the AA 4 star historic grade II listed Longbridge House, is the B&B for you. With parts dating back to the 14th century the house is where the Duke of Monmouth stayed before and after the Battle of Sedgemoor in 1685, before he was killed by Hanging Judge Jeffries in the Bloody Assizes. In more recent years the house has been owned by the Bishop of London who performed the wedding ceremony of William and Kate. Chill out after your journey, enjoy the homemade cake in your bedroom, with a pot of tea or cafetiere of coffee. Or relax outside watching the birds on the birdfeeder or our chickens scratching around & plan your stay using our books and maps.

Terrific B&B. A very warm welcome, lovely room, excellent breakfast around a shared table, lively conversation, historically resonant house. Altogether a very enjoyable stay. Thoroughly recommended. Many thanks.

Had a lovely short break here and couldn't fault our hosts, they were fantastic. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the room had everything you could possibly need and the breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend.

When we stay here we always have the self contained cottage the owners have which is spot on with only one problem for me especially and that's its a little low upstairs where the bedroom is.Trying a room in the b&b part later this month.

You definitely should pick this for a stay. We were here for 2 nights and very much want to come back. Tanya was waiting to greet us and show us round the house which was so atmospheric and had a warm inviting vibe. Tanya and Robert cooked us a huge fresh hot breakfast that was up there with 5 star standards. They're also a mine of information about the local area. We all found the beds very comfortable and the bathrooms were modern and spotless (the toweling dressing gowns were a nice touch). Plenty of choice for hot drinks in our rooms and large TV screens well positioned. Totally silent all night, and I had the windows open,

We stayed here for 2 nights as a base central to where we were visiting. Tanya and Robert, the owners, were friendly, helpful and very attentive. The cooked breakfast was amazing and cooked fresh to have between 7.30-9.30. The room was huge, clean, everything you needed. Even had the lovely touch of water and milk in a mini fridge along with toiletries in the amazing bathroom. They had a lovely courtyard where you could sit out at any time of the day and even have your breakfast out there. We will definitely stay again when in the area.

We booked Longbridge House to attend a family wedding I booked 3 rooms - As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by the owner Tanya with a smiling happy face that made us feel very welcome. We were sown to our rooms and WOW could not fault any of them, even had a lovely chocolate penguin and kit kat with our cup of tea. Tanya showed us to the outside and it was like sitting in a courtyard in southern France. Breakfast was also one of the best I have ever had and nothing was too much trouble with everything from a full booked breaky, fruits, and even Lemon curd for my toast. You are walking distance to the small town of Shepton Mallet where we have a lovely meal at Rosemarys Greek taverna. I would highly recommend Longbridge House and would like to thank Tanya and her husband (great chef) for the great welcome and stay - Thank you…

Well another boring review of Longbridge House! From the outside the place looks like the place you would buy if you won the lottery. As you enter you meet Tanya, this is a lady who was made to run a B/B, cheerful, welcoming and with a big smile on her face and a lady who is on a mission to make sure you have a wonderful time whilst you are staying there., NOTHING was too much trouble, you are treated like a 5 star customer. The bedroom was lovely and cool when we arrived (hottest day of the year) a bottle of ice cold water was in the fridge on arrival which was a godsend. You had 3 choices where you ate breakfast, in your room, the farmhouse kitchen or in the courtyard, we ate outside which was great. The breakfast was sublime, you would not get better in a 5 star hotel, must mention Rob who is Tanya`s other half, he quietly makes sure breakfast runs smoothly and you have whatever you need. This place should be "picked up" and dropped in the countryside in the Cotswolds or the Yorkshire Dales where it deserves to be. We WILL return again for sure.…

Tanya and Robert were such friendly and welcoming hosts. The house itself was beautiful and our room was immaculate, very comfortable and spacious. The facilities in the room were wonderful including wine glasses, bottle opener, iron etc and even a small fridge. The house is within a short walk of the town centre and we spent a wonderful afternoon touring the prison! The breakfast Tanya provided was superb and kept us going until dinner. We would highly recommend Longbridge House if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the area.

We've just returned from a lovely break at Longbridge house. The hosts where amazing, really friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Monmouth room, clean, roomy, well presented and had all you needed to enjoy your stay. Breakfast was so good too, to the point we didn't eat all day as it filled us up. Great choice of cooked or continental. All in all, wonderful stay, great hosts, beautiful B&B and very well positioned to enjoy the local attractions. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
