Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

From the outset the owners of Carrmoor Guest House were sharp on communications and efficient. I was lucky to find space available for accommodation during my week's climbing. Soon after their rooms were fully booked for the entire season. The guest house has up to date decor; is maintained spotlessly and in working order; is warm throughout including a wonderful coal fire in the guest lounge; the breakfast is out of this world (vegetarian options are available and meats/fish are locally sourced); the evening menus and meals are a triumph and there is little reason to go out for supper as you'll find nothing to beat; the owners are very friendly. Highly recommended

Staying at Carrmore is like your staying with family members. Christine & Michael both greet you on arrival and you get a cuppa and shortbread. There living room area is so homily and a great meeting place with guests. Michael is a trained chef and the food is excellent you certainly don't leave hungry. The rooms are large and of high quality and spotless. The couple knowledge of the area is excellent and give you advice on places to visit. First class accommodation can't fault whatsoever. Worth more than 5 stars.

I cannot say more about the kindness shown to myself and my husband by Christine and Michael and the Carmoor. We spent a lovely evening there - the house is beautiful and the rooms are so comfortable. We also had an amazing evening meal cooked for us by Michael who is an outstanding chef! Breakfast in the morning was similarly gorgeous and the hosts couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome to the area. We had planned to stay for a long weekend but unfortunately on the Saturday morning I was taken ill and we had to suddenly return home. They were so kind and concerned, and made a difficult situation much more bearable. I hadn't even realised in my anxiety to get home that I'd left a top and an earring in the room, but Christine quickly contacted me with a lovely email and posted them to me which was really kind of her. They also refunded us for the night we were unable to stay which was a very honest and kind gesture. I would definitely recommend this guest house as a true home-from-home.

Unfortunately not enough characters to explain how amazing your stay will be at Carmoor Guest House. I stayed here with my dad for a well deserved annual leave and i left with a bigger waist line and an even bigger smile. You are first greeted by a wonderful and beautiful home, easy to find and on a lovely quiet road. You are then greeted by the most wonderful, kind and lovely owners Christine and Michael. Genuine, honest and kind and your stay and happiness is at their priority. The guest house is spotless, and i mean spotless, but without being manufactured or unwelcoming. It is cosy and very comfortable. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and a home away from home. The lounge area is a very loving room, designed to send your troubles away as you enjoy the company of the other guests and Michael and Christine. The Food... this is a whole chapter, and i am currently salivating at the thought. You ever had nice food? then you haven't tried the food here. Fresh local produce all lovingly cooked by Michael, and it is unreal! i left with a bigger waistline it is just that delicious, nothing is too much trouble for Michael ( I'm not a fan of mushrooms so He swapped them for an extra sausage yum) I really cant describe my experience enough, all i can say is you're thinking about booking, just book! go! now ! A truly wonderful experience, the most genuine and lovely people i have ever met, delicious food, and a wonderful place to stay. Christine, leave me a spot for next year ! A heartfelt thank you from Tom and Kevin ! All the Best and lots of love

Excellent place that apparently gets busy and booked up as it gets circa 80% repeat business, so we felt quite lucky to get a room. Our room was a good size, well decorated, modern with a comfy bed. Our evening meal was freshly made and again was excellent. Hosts made you feel very welcome.

Amazing experience. The food was just out of this world, huge menu and all first class. Michael and Christine were very hospitable and went out of their way to help us in every way they could. The desert was to die for (walnut toffee meringue roulade). We would definitely recommend! Very limited availability as it is a try south after accommodation and hard to get in , we were lucky as there had been a cancellation! Thank you to Michael and Christine for the most enjoyable stay in Scotland! The best experience ever!! You won’t find a better place to stay.

Such a lovely guest house. Very clean with everything you need. Delicious meals and fantastic service. Made to feel at home, and nothing was too much trouble. We were even given a packed lunch whenever we missed breakfast.

Part way through our tour of Scotland we arrived at Carrmoor House. What a lovely surprise. If only our previous accommodations had been half as good. Christine and Michael provide a top class venue with a very warm welcome. Nothing is other than spot on and Michael’s talents as a very accomplished chef was the icing on the cake.

We booked a room here for the mothers day weekend with our 2 year old. We had a fabulous time. The room was spotless, comfortable and warm and it was a rear home feeling. Christine and Michael were brilliant hosts and made our stay a great experience. We had a great breakfast finely cooked by Michael. They gave us plenty advice in what to do in the area which was great. They have a restaurant for residents with a wonderful and extensive menu. We had already booked a restaurant in Aviemore but wish we had ate there. Nest time. Thank you and we hope to stay again.
