We were there just after a huge downpour of rain. The camp site was closed due the chance of camper vans being bogged down. We were accommodated next to chalet 1 which the third member of our party was offered at the price of a smaller unit. Kudos the the owners!

Tidewater is one of those perfect little places to stay. This family run operation has a range of accommodation available, from tent pitches to cabins, along with the usual range of facilities; all were clean and in good condition. The male shower block (I didn't venture into the female, so no comment!) is looking a little dated, but nonetheless is... More

We stayed here on our first night in New Zealand, and have returned again only a week later for the rest of the trip. The staff truly go above and beyond here with room requests, local information and more. We were planning on camping soon and Linda even gave us tips for that. The location is perfect, the facilities have... More

After a traumatic day, on the Coromandel Peninsular, our vehicle broken down and all accommodation booked out, everywhere. The local tow truck and taxi people managed to find the three of us, beds for the night. The only highlight of the day, was that we 'ran into' the proprietor Tony and our disastrous day turned from 'doom and gloom' into... More

A warm welcome from our host was a good start to our two night stay in a Motel Unit. The unit was well presented, spacious, and clean and tidy. Close to town and helpful advice was appreciated. Thank you for a lovely relaxing stay, we will be back and will recommend to others for sure!

We stayed as a touring group. Very clean bunk rooms, great showers and friendly staff. We were pointed in the right direction and the best eating place in town. Quaint names on the cabins Like "The love shack"

Nice, clean, spacious backpacking dorm. Comfortable beds, with blankets provided. Welcoming hosts who pointed us in the right direction for things we wanted to do. Lots of car parking, and we could also see lovely huts for couples, and spaces for tents and camper vans so it looks like they have all corners of the market covered. Though there where... More

What makes this backpackers special is it's 'apartment' style layout, each equipped with it's own kitchen, lounge area and tv, and two bedrooms shared between 8 people (4 in each). Really an upgrade compared to other YHA hostels. Clean and value for money.

Great hosts, we found this perfect for our small group of 10 people. everything is first class. Very clean & tidy could not fault these facilities. We had been out fishing for the day & on our return the fish cleaning area was perfect, our host even provided bags for our fish scraps so we didn't have the disposal problems... More
