We spent two nights at Evelyne's fantastic lodge with breathtaking views over the peninsula forest. The view extends to the bay in the background but the surrounding trees and forest are just lovely. Birds of all sorts to see but specially the Tui the comes to visit on the conifer outside our bedroom in the morning. Evelyne's hospitality is second... More

We had a really enjoyable stay at Buffalo Lodge. Set on a hillside about 3kms from Coromandel Town, Buffalo Lodge has fabulous views over the peninsular towards Auckland. Three guest bedrooms, all ensuite, well equipped, clean and comfortable. And not a TV in sight, I'm pleased to say. Evelyne is a charming hostess, inviting us to treat her house as... More

We stayed for three nights and could not have been made more welcome. The situation was delightful with views across to the sea but from a position within the bushland. Our host, Evelyne, could not have been more charming making us feel particularly welcome. Her breakfasts were a delight. If we ever returned to NZ, I can guarantee we would... More

A very warm and comfortable place to stay with stunning views. The chooks, and the freshly laid eggs were a highlight. Evelyne couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable. I would highly recommend this experience, but make sure your car can get up a very steep hill (worth it in the end!).

This B&B is located in a very elevated position amongst New Zealand native bush of the Coromandel peninsula. To reach the premises it is necessary to drive through the bush up a reasonably steep gradient track and cross over a concrete bridge spanning a stream. It is about 2.5 kms drive from the Coromandel township. Having arrived, you are surrounded... More

Unique B&B in an art gallery - soaring ceilings, glass walls and balconies looking over Coromandel Bay, filled with light and gorgeous art works. Really can't be beat. Loved our corner room with attention to details and excellent breakfast with eggs from Evelyn's hens.

We were on a 35 day self drive tour of NZ when I set my GPS on this place. We found ourselves driving into a gravel road enveloped in trees, moving up a mountainside. Finally we come to a clearing and here is a beautiful house and our smiling hostess greeting us. Evelyne and her husband purpose built this B&B... More

What more can I say! all the reviews are accurate. Start to end Evelyn treated us like important guests with her friendly manner nothing was too much trouble. Her attention to detail was amazing not to mention the art works adorning all the walls. We had what was called the 'honeymoon' suite (we have been married 39 years though)! The... More

Very enjoyable stay due to the lovely owner Evelyn. Delicious breakfasts and Evelyn set us off in the right direction every day with a list of planned activities. Without her local knowledge I'm sure we would not have enjoyed Coromandel as much. Comfortable rooms with great views furnished in colourful 80s style so slightly quirky. Very quiet, thoroughly recommended, easy... More

“It is a bed and breakfast with 3 rooms (I think). We stayed in a suite that was detatched from the house, but we preferred to use her lounge inside the house. The architecturally designed home with wood, high beams, surrounded in bush - truly amazing. Not to mention the Morpork who was calling us one evening.”
