The hospitality the management showed us and the relaxed at atmosphere at Vassaliki is quite unike. This year was our third time we have been there and Samantha and Mark are the kind of hosts very eager to make us feel at home.
The pool bar and the restaurant is a pleasant place to have a drink and/or enjoy a tastefull meal.
This is also a place where new friendships are easy to establish.A highly recommendable place to stay for genuine naturists.
We will be back

This must be our 10th visit at vassalikki and the resort seems to improve with each visit . Sam mark Debbie and Mel look after you extremely well. We once again enjoyed their boat trip with great swims at deserted coves and their barbecue night , great fun ! We always seem to make good friends in the very relaxed atmosphere they create . We love the pool and the stunning views no loud music thank goodness except for happy hour . Love waking up only to the sound of goat bells and buzzards calling in the morning.can’t wait to return

"Bare Brilliance" is another name of this nice hotel. And BARE it really is. There are no TVs and no internet in the rooms. But, to compensate, yoga mats are there and a lovely swimming pool with lukewarm water
Run by a couple from Britain Samantha and Mark. It is situated on the rugged hilly coast of western Cefalonia. A rented car is a must there. Alternatively you will need a pair of heavy-duty trekking boots and sufficient supply of drinking water if you plan to wander around .
The guests there are a small closed group of repeat visitors from Britain and a newcomer feels slightly out of place , sort of like an Innuit in the middle of a Piccadilly Circus or a mustard on a chocolate layer cake. The owners should do their utmost to promote integration there rather than organise close evening parties with their friends.
On the positive note it has to be mentioned that our room was upgraded and Samantha was kind enough to allow us a late checkout due to late departing flight. Thumbs up and great thank you for that. ( it was "lovely indeed" as the Brits will say).
I feel it is my duty to give an unbiased review which is what I also expect from other travellers.
It is very hard to give this establishment a one overall rating, but I will try.

Thank you for your review. Sorry about the TV and internet but we can only get Greek channels and most our guest never used the TVs so we removed them from the rooms. If you had asked at Reception we would have supplied one for you. The internet is available for free throughout the communal areas of the resort. The service is not fast enough for streaming so we do not offer it inside the rooms. We are sorry you felt left out. A lot of our guests have been coming for nearly 15 years and most have make long term friendships so love to meet up at Vassaliki. We do run several group meals (BBQ, pizza night and Meze) every week to make it easy for others to join in but I don't think you joined us for these events. Maybe if you join us again you can try these events so you can join in with the rest of the resort.

Cephalonia is beautiful but we can't recommend this resort simply because the manager was so often very cross and very bossy. This attitude was really noticeable and it marred our stay here. If not for that it would be a pleasant place to stay though you really need a car to get around the island.

It was our first visit to Vassaliki Naturist Club and despite the excellent website and the flawless holiday booking process we were not entirely sure what to expect. We were a party of three couples and we have been meeting for a naturist holiday each year for more than ten years either in resorts or sailing.

From the first moment of our arrival we knew that there was something special about Vassaliki. Our apartments were spotless, airy and well appointed with the pool and bar were just down a few steps.

We spent an idyllic week at Vassaliki lazing by the pool, playing boules, or taking leisurely strolls in the evening to some of the local tavernas. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere was a great help in getting to know the other guests. The specials night were great – more pizza than you could eat on the movie night, and the BBQ evening is not to be missed. The boating day trip is also a must especially landing on deserted beaches.

The Vassaliki crew; Sam, Mark, Sheryle, Simon and Nicky were all brilliant, always friendly, helpful and good humored. Not forgetting Archie the Dog, probably the nicest natured and well mannered dog we have ever met.

Will we be returning to Vassaliki? You bet we will !!!

After what seemed an overwhelmingly stressful year in business, Vassaliki was the perfect tonic. Within 24 hours I felt myself sliding effortlessly into a totally relaxed state. Sam, Mark, Sheryl and Simon are the perfect hosts getting the balance between being friendly and yet professional absolutely right.
The resort is large enough to "have your own space" if that is important to you, yet small enough for plenty of interaction with other guests, if you wish. I managed a good mixture of the two depending on how I felt at the time.
The optional trips are very well organised and I did most of them (speed boat cruiser thing and 2 x meze evenings at local establishments).

High standard of cleanliness. The pool is spotless thanks to Simon's near obsession with the cleaning routines first thing each morning.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough, especially if you are new to naturism. The whole approach by the owner's and staff is to provide a safe, secure, clean and unpressured environment for guests to relax and have fun.

I booked my return trip for next year before I left the resort. Need I say more.

Recently returned from a 2 week holiday at the Vasaliki resort in Klismata Kefalonia. What a fantastic time we had, MArk and Samantha are the perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them and the rest of the team at the resort as they work tirelessly to make sure your holiday is something special and will also recommend local restaurants and can organise transport if required.

There are frequent special nights such as Mezze, barbeque, fish, pizza and even a curry night and organised days out such as a naturist cruise on-board The Lady O, which we highly recommend and thoroughly enjoyed as well. Sam and Mark also organised a naturist beach barbeque on a secluded beach which we also highly recommend.

Daily entertainment was looked after by Colin and Alex, such as Body toning, Pilates, aqua aerobics and , art classes. I attended the art classes on a couple of occasions and found them relaxing and with encouragement from both Colin and the rest of the class enjoyable, will continue after the holiday.

The is a good size pool, surrounded by a spacious paved and grasses area and plenty of sunbeds for everyone. The bar area where you can serve your own beer and enter on a honesty tab against your room number and plenty of spirits and locally sourced wine.

There are several roomtypes available we stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment, which we found to be spacious, modernand well equipped. Balcony area was large and with superb views of the local area and the sound of the sheep bells relaxing.

We found the other guests to be friendly and welcoming and at an evening most people dressed of an evening, but how naked you want to be is entirely up to yourself.

Also a special mention goes to Lucy, Mark and Sam's dog, who will guide you to the local village Apart is. We knew this was the place for us so we booked for 2019 in the first week, so all in all a superb holiday and a big thank you to Sam, Mark, Alex, Colin, Tinkerbell and Lucy for looking after us, see you next year.

We’ve just returned from our second visit and found Vassaliki to be a very well presented and maintained resort. We had a lovely time but have to say I understand Tripadvisor comments on Cliques from KefaloniaLovers and Richard S from Sheffield re self service beer.
I think we were spoiled last year with Nick the chef’s cooking. Unfortunately he’s no longer working there and after the first two nights eating in the bar, we decided to try some of the other restaurants around the local area. There are a few, many are recommended in the resort handbook.
I should say that eating out in the area is not cheap especially if you would like a drink and choose to book a taxi. A 5 minute, 2.5km taxi trip to one restaurant (Taverna Elaionas) cost 15 euro each way and a 6km taxi to Il Borgo Restaurant cost 20 euro each way
This year we found that people were able to smoke around the pool and in the bar, even while others were eating. Although some smokers sat to an outer part of the seating area, it’s not a big place, and the tables are very close together. The smoke carried to our table even though we tried a few different positions. Vassaliki could benefit from setting up smoking areas and allowing consideration for non smokers.
When all is said and done, Vassaliki is a good place for a holiday with a few niggly if’s and buts which, if sorted could make it great.

Sorry your second visit was not up to your requirements. We are really pleased you enjoyed some of the fabulous local tavernas in the area. Our other guests that week enjoyed going out and staying in as our outside pool bar/restaurant was full every night, so this is great for all the local community. The resort changes every week and because we encourage a social environment, some weeks you may find people have formed some friendships before you arrive. It was really nice to see you guys made some new friends this year when you were in the bar also. The taxis on the island are expensive, you will find this throughout because taxes and costs to the drivers are high. As we are based in some beautiful local villages not in the tourist areas, the taxi drivers must leave the tourist areas to come to us to take you to the taverna, even if it is close by, this is taken into consideration with their fees. Regarding smoking we do not and have never allowed people to smoke in the restaurant while others are eating. Once food service is finished guests are allowed to smoke in the bar as it is outside, this is the law. On the occasion you made a complaint to us we spoke to the smokers who were happy to move outside the bar area to make things better for you. Thank you for your feedback, we will keep an eye on the situation where we can to ensure they are not niggles to others as well.

Mark , Samantha and their team are nothing short of amazing. My research ahead of time was validated as soon as we walked through the gates of this amazing resort. My partner was new to naturism but any apprehension evaporated as soon as a fully clothed friendly face greeted us. (Sam).Within minutes staff came to introduce themselves - some clothed , others nude .They were always just one step ahead of us for any needs yet never intrusive. They gave us all kinds of space in a beautiful, clean , welcoming , safe environment. We could not have asked for more. The food was excellent , the excursions (boat trip to remote stunning beach) were well organized , facilitating car rentals from the resort was a breeze. We made wonderful friends from all walks of life : from organic farmers to retired college principals . Evening conversations were so engaging yet at no time did we ever feel compelled to participate in anything( including nudism).Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️.Mark ,Samantha and their team should be very proud of what they have achieved.
Can’t give this resort enough praise - try it 😎

Yes there is one which has two parts and approximately 45 minute walk away or around 10 minutes in a car I'm unsure if they can take you but if so there will be a nominal fee is probably best to email mark or Sam to ask there is a night out when they take the boat to a secluded beach and have a naked BBQ I would recommend this if you decide to go you will not regret I'm sure

Hi. There are a couple of tavernas that are about a 10 minute walk. Up hill on a dirt lane but walkable in flipflops if you are careful. The supermarket is the same distance so walkable. We walk to a taverna about 2 miles away, along the road. Its a lovely stroll with lovely views. If you are travelling with someone that drives, we find that car hire is not essential but we like to hire a car for 2-3 days mid holiday so that we can do some sightseeing. Its well worth it to get about if you can. There is also a superb restaurant in Lourdas but you would need a car to get there. Great if you visit the beach on the same day. Sam and Mark are exceptionally helpful in explaining how to get about. They also arrange trips out in their minibus, so you wont be stuck if you don't have access to a car. Don't hesitate to go there. Its a brilliant place.

Hi. When I was at Vassaliki, there were two men who were on their own, plus one single lady. There are social activities such as meals out and boat trips so everyone is included. I think you need to talk to the people who run the resort about coming on your own. In my opinion though, Vassaliki is suitable for solo guests.
