A weeks stay at club Lyda
We found the hotel to be ok for a budget hotel, even tho after speaking to other guest not everyone payed budget price!
Rooms are extremely basic especially the bathrooms
tv didn’t work for 4 days after repair only got one English rolling news channel
Air conditioning was an extra 7 euro per day! Lots of mosquitoes in the rooms
Food was ok, breakfast was good eggs were great, plenty of choices, juices croissants / the best meal in my opinion
snacks at 11.30 were a joke to be honest it one one type of pastry per day usually mini apple pie or strudel only on one day was there cheese, could be improved greatly!
Tea coffee 24 hours
Lunch and dinner were ok but nothing special but you won’t starve!
All inclusive drinks were poor brandy ouzo beer wine.
no vodka or gin or rum!!
Soft drink were ok
Hotel was located quite far from the main resort it’s a 25 min walk to beach down hill crossing a main very busy road
The hotel does provide a bus service 4 times a day, but not really anywhere to stroll to
One maybe two other apartments near hotel with small tavernas also a shop but apart from that middle of nowhere!
Staff were nice and friendly apart from one maybe two,

Manager was firm but fair and a very nice lady , we wasn’t happy with our room after two days of us being very persistent we did eventually get moved to a slightly better block and room! Newer rooms are 500s and 200s
Pool areas are nice and clean also you could find a sun lounger easily most days.
We had a nice budget holiday for the money we paid
I think the staff work incredibly hard to make a pleasant holiday for everyone.
If you are looking for a luxury holiday in resort by the beach this is not for you!

Me and my bro we really enjoyed the holiday. Be aware, rooms are not luxurious, so dont have high demands. but very cozy, always clean, they change your towels after two days, and clean the rooms everyday. the stuff makes the holiday even better. Theyre really nice and polite. There's and older waiter and a young barman with a ponytail, who always ask how are you today, if you're satisfied, and they re happy to answer all your questions. The programm (Party for children, bingo, fire night, Ouzo 😄) made by a perfect animator makes you always smile. You wont be hungry, there's a large selection of food and I as a woman really enjoyed the cakes, you can play ping pong for free, waterpolo with friends or just sunbath by the pool. Beach is 15 minutes walk from the hotel It's the cleanest sea I've ever seen, and if you'll be lucky you're gonna enjoy the big waves as we did. Perfect for family or couple holiday, for children, and for friends too. Just one advise, dont eat so many cakes as I did, because if you have sweet blood, the mosquitos will eat you alive. 😅
With love,
Karolína & Juraj from Slovakia❤️

Came for 7 nights and can’t find a fault.

Upon arrival we had just missed lunch but Mama sat us down and bought us plates loaded with Salad, Olive’s and Spaghetti - a lovely to start to what would be a lovely week.

All staff can’t do enough to accommodate for guests and everything is done with a smile. The food was always lovely (the tomatoes are amazing), with 2 vegans in the group we couldn’t find any faults with the vegan options also!

Zara the entertainment leader was a blast, water aerobics, water polo and bingo (the prize being a lovely cocktail) were definitely highlights.

The location is about a 10 minute walk to the main strip in gouves (highly recommend Dreams and the Garage bar) and and even shorter walk to the beach. There’s a small shop opposite run by the delightful Dina which is definitely also worth an visit for your daily needs.

Really can’t fault the place, highly recommend x

Thank you mama n all the other staff for a lovely week x

Stayed all inclusive for a relaxing week away, however, food and drink was disgusting. All inclusive did not include spirits such as vodka and the red and white wine was out of a tap - even the soft drinks were undrinkable.

The food was the same every day and usually cold.

Overall, hotel was clean and the pool area is nice, however, €7 per day for air con is very steep!

Hotel is quite far out from the main part of Gouves which is quiet overall, would definitely recommend staying in Hersonissos which is €15 in a taxi.

The shop across the street has a hotel on the back of it which we used for food and drink (very tasty and reasonable) and the staff are so friendly, bending over backwards for you!

We arrived at 11pm to be fair they gave us chicken and rice and bottle of water. But when asked for coke they charged as we missed all inclusive. When at reception we had to pay €2 per day for safe which is ok but €7 per day for aircon when u have 2 rooms it adds up. Rooms are very basic with a fridge and hairdryer beds are like sleeping on rocks. Don’t think any off us has had a good nights sleep. Food is basic if you like same food each day then your ok but if your kids are fussy you’ll need extra money to eat out. Which we ended up doing. Last 2 days we’ve had to ring reception due to having no hot water 1st day to be told had to wait 2.5 hours for maintenance to come back. So 7/8pm then again day after so ended up having a cold shower as twice we rang down to reception and after waiting 2.5 hours and nothing gave up and jumped in. Then went down on way out. To be told another hour which is not on. Pool is ok don’t need to rush up for loungers and 3 pools. Spa do very good massages. All in all I wouldn’t be coming back to hotel lots of people checked in and out same day

We stayed at hotel lyda for 5 nights and were extremely disappointed. The all inclusive drinks only included soft drinks, beer, wine and ouzo. The food was very limited and there was a minimal rotation of food. The higher up staff in the business were very rude and had no manors. There was also a very limited amount of sunbeds compared to the amount of guests. Air conditioning doesn't come included and you have to pay for it daily if you would like it. The rooms were very spacious however the bathroom was very small, there was only a shower no bath and it was only big enough to Stand still In it and the bathroom window led on to someone else’s balcony.

Dear guests , thank you to taking your time to write your review about our hotel ,because I think that I belong to the higher up staff in the business, declare that I never met you during your stay at the hotel and in no way did we have any contact, your suggestions respected but if you read the hotel description before booking you would know that air conditioning is charged and also what drinks are included in the all inclusive i regret that despite our effort did not meet your desires warmest regards Roula Niraki Manager

We arrived late and was immediately taken to the terrace for some food and a bottle of water, rooms are basic but clean, good shower, uncomfortable bed. Air con is not inc however we didn’t need it.
Food was a bit hit and miss , but you can always find something edible. The all inclusive drinks were a bit of a let down, beer, wine, brandy, raki or ouzo… everything else you pay for. Very basic day and evening entertainment, however we still had fun and the guy tries his best. Pools are nice and clean, however don’t be fooled by the pool bar, that did not open once all week.
This hotel could be sooo much better, however we got what we paid for. Beach is lovely, with great sunsets and plenty of lovely restaurants to choose from. Can recommend the island bar and restaurant:
Biggest disappointment for me was, immediately after we left the hotel, we discovered that we had left my daughters beloved teddy bear, I have on many occasions contacted the hotel, however they have failed to reply to me even once ..
for a budget holiday, you can’t go wrong …

I came here as single mum with three children. The hotel is not as advertised it is missing many amenities. Some of the reception staff not very helpful, just keep saying " not understand" (Google translate is my new friend).

Threatening behaviour from Carlos the animation man because we apparently sat in the wrong seats. I am quite an easy going person but his behaviour and the way he tried to intimidate us with other hotel guests was out of order.

When I asked for his name he promptly said "I dont have one, now go along and complain like you always do". " . Only time we had to complain was when the air conditioning was leaking. We were accused of sabotaging the hotel by leaving showers on all around the hotel.

Had meeting with manager about Carlos behaviour and the accusations. She is very approachable but Carlos carried on still after he was allegedly spoken to.

Hotel hardly has any English in it and if there is you will feel like a second class citizen compared to the other nationalities.

I would not recommend this hotel to anybody and am currently in discussion with the holiday operator regarding my formal complaint.

Also the hotel doesn't have three bars it has one. You are unable to get a drink after 9.30am until 11am unless you buy one from their little supermarket. There is no swim up bar.

Advertises entertainment in day and evening this is solely ran by Carlos, in the 9 days we were there saw 2 evening entertainments which was a disco and him standing on plastic glass and one water polo session.

If you have booked a transfer you will be kicked off the coach at the bottom of the road and told to walk to hotel (not hotels fault prob our transfers)

Food was not to bad . Good bus network which is ideal to get around to visit the better places. Stalis is worth a visit and heronnisis.

This was my last holiday with the children and I wanted to make it special and create nice memories but unfortunately i definately chose the wrong hotel and location, I know this is long winded review and I'm sure i will probably get a reply from manager but this is my honest review of our experience

Bit out of the way from shops and bars but lovely and clean hotel. The hotels entertainment was poor as didn't start till 10pm and that's when he could be bothered 😕 and during the day 11.30am he was suppose to do aqua aerobics/dancing and only did it twice the 10 days I was there. I was with 2 children so we just made our own entertainment. There is a bus stop down the road which takes you to hersonissos
malia and other parts of the island and fares are very cheap and lots of bars and shops. Most sites say this hotel has 3 pools but only has 2 but 2 is sufficient. Also says kids club....NO KIDS CLUB.
Food was very good with plenty to choose from but could do with more fruit as only had watermelon. All staff were very friendly.
One more thing.....pack plenty of mozzie repellent because there are millions of the little critters.
Room was cleaned everyday and sheets and towels changed every 2 days. Free air-conditioning and free safe deposit box.

We arrived on a Sunday and were shown our room by the lovely receptionist. Sadly the room had not been made, that was put right and to be honest that was pretty much all the cleaning that was done throughout our entire stay. We left the hotel nearly everyday and went to the beach and therefore sand was bought into our room - we didn’t have a broom to sweep and the floor wasn’t swept by housekeeping! One bed was badly broken in terms of the mattress.

The food was ok and great facility of the swimming pool. However and this is a big one for me, the residents in the hotel were selfish and placed towels on the bed in such a way that by 7.45 there were no available beds but the vast majority weren’t used until gone 10. People lay on concrete/tiles as there were no beds but lots with just towels on. I had to sit on a bed for a matter of minutes ( there were 6 beds with towels on which hadn’t been touched ) and within minutes another guest started shouting at me! I hadn’t touched his belongings in the slightest. When I spoke to the management about this issue they did not seem to care!

It was a great location, nice staff, but the rooms need updating and they need to sort the issue with the sun beds!

We've just booked it through the local PolyClinic (covid@traveltest.gr). Very prompt response. It costs 25 euro and they will come to your hotel or you can go to the clinic. Results by e-mail same day. Hope this helps.
