This was the perfect place to completely relax. Our Villa was the most amazing place I have ever stayed in. (and we have travelled a lot) Spacious, beautiful, wonderfully furnished, in keeping with the local area and with the best view ever. I was slightly worried about no air conditioning, but the way the villas are designed they are relatively...

We stayed 5 nights in January. The sea view villas are very spacious although you have to keep your belongings in the bedroom due to the monkeys! Even the loo roll is tied up to try to stop them unravelling and shredding it! The villa consists of large lockable bedroom with lockable luggage store and twin washbasins as well as...

We stayed for a week at Unguja Lodge before embarking on a safari in Tanzania. The hotel is beautifully located on the edge of the sea surrounded by nature - monkeys regular visitors, a mixed blessing! At high tide you swim straight off the land, at low tide you can walk down the beach. There is a sandy bay 2...

Wonderfull lodges with a dome kind of construction. Monkeys visiting daily with a beautiful sea view offering unique sunset moment. Snorkeling with bbq trip is highly recommended. Food is good and the daily menu is limited but enough to feed the need. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

Peaceful, intimate, excellent service. This is a magical place and will reward a few days spent there. The staff are excellent and the chef is superb. Slight downside was that the beach is only accessible down a flight of steps and the snorkelling was either quite a long swim (high tide) or a fairly difficult walk (low tide). That isn't...

My wife and I love Unguja Lodge and would love to come back someday. The Seaview villa was incredible with stunning views. The beach is beautiful and you can literally step into the water and snorkel. The staff were so friendly and the service was outstanding. We absolutely loved the wildlife which was very visible - particularly the birds, the...

Unguja Lodge was superb. My partner and I had a blissful 4 days in this unique and beautiful oasis. The design of the villa is stunning, the food was amazing and the staff and service, excellent. Honestly I wouldn't recommend anywhere else to stay in Zanzibar.

Managed to get a four night booking at short notice over new Year after leaving our previous hotel in Paje ( another story ), so thank you Martyn the Manager and Shahir his assistant for squeezing us in and arranging it all. What a contrast. The resort is remote , rustic and in a beautiful location. The sea view villa's...

I stayed here after a week of safari, this seemed to be the case for the other guests too. The lodge offers a relaxed style with large, rustic villas and an excellent team of staff who are keen to exceed your expectations. The food is very good and the fish and seafood are really well-cooked; breakfast is relaxed and flexible and...
