Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had an incredible stay at green sanctuary. The vibe was relaxed, friendly and in beautiful surroundings. Rocio was a great help for any questions or concerns and provided a warm welcome after a long travel day.

I stayed at the Green Sanctuary for more than a month and I loved every minute of it. In terms of location, the hotel is ideally placed as it is in the middle of nature, monkeys and birds all around, no noise at all. It is 10' walking distance away from the beach and the heart of playa guiones. Regarding the facilities, the rooms are exactly as shown in pictures, super clean, perfect size with a safe in it. The hotel has a nice pool, not too big neither too small. There is also a nice Shala to practice yoga or working out with a view on the jungle around. The breakfast is included in the price and it is very good! Open from 7am to 9am and the cook is amazing. Basically all the people working there are extremely nice and will help you whatever you need and try to make your stay as good as possible! Big up to Marlene who cooks, cleans and smiles all day long, and makes all her heart in everything she does - a real ray of sunshine! I haven't tried any of the tours offered but you can ask Fernando the owner for any information - he is always available for his guests and he speaks Spanish, English and a little bit of French! The only down side would perhaps be the WiFi that sometimes is not working but it is very rare. All in all, I highly recommend to stay at the Green Sanctuary if you are in Nosara, it's the best place around and especially if you consider the price over quality rate during the high season!

Rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is great, and the owners and staff are extremely friendly, personable, attentive, and helpful. Parking is easy as well. I would definitely stay here again and hope to in the not so distant future.

A beautiful property set amongst nature. Kind owners, and lovely pool. Enjoyed being able to lie on the bed and see trees outside of the window. It was the perfect place to stay while visiting Nosara.

Green Sanctuary was a wonderfully innovative and pleasantly down to earth, mellow place to stay. Staff was helpful and accommodating, room was clean and decor was welcoming. Breakfast and smoothies were excellent. Highly recommend.

We recently took a trip to Nosara (5 guys) with the intentions of surfing and relaxing. Nothing more. We found Green Sanctuary, and the value for what you get seemed unbeatable. Green Sanctuary was perfect. It was so quiet and peaceful. I cannot imagine this place in the Wet season because even now it is stunning with all the green surrounding it. The rooms were exactly what we needed. Bed and a bathroom. Easy. The breakfast was incredible. We looked forward to the Juice and fruit every morning, and the food options and amounts were perfect. Never felt full, never left wanting more. Depending on what you are wanting in your Nosara trip, the distance to town and the beach could be a detriment. For us, it was great. So quiet. The walk to the beach with our boards provided a perfect 15 minute mental prep, and the walk back after a surf was the same punctuation mark. Our favorite part of Green Sanctuary was the pool and bar area. After every Sunset Session, we could not wait to get back to the pool, and Fernando and Addy (sorry if I misspelled) were there with smiles ready to make a drink or hand us an Imperial as we sat around, Facetimed our families, and recounted that surf session. It was perfect. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I miss it terribly! Thank you, Green Sanctuary, for having us and for being so kind. I cannot wait to get back to you guys again. Hopefully soon!

We stayed for 2 nights in a single-occupancy unit. Room was clean with no issues. Bed was fine. We liked having our own private terrace. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Service was wonderful. Pool was refreshing and clean. Owner’s dog, Tiki, was a welcome visitor to breakfast. Only 4 stars because: -they didn’t have any yoga classes at the time of our stay -they only had limited food items available from the menu even though they advertised more Notes to those visiting the area: the roads are bumpy and rocky. Having a vehicle helps as it’s a 5-10 min drive to the beach, any mini-super or restaurant. We ate dinner at Beach Dog Cafe and 10 Pies and both were wonderful.

This is a great location, with very nice rooms (including air conditioning and nice bathrooms) for great value. There is a refreshing pool that is a welcome sight upon arrival back to the hotel after being at the beach or out for a long walk. Most of the restaurants are a bit further from the hotel, but the hotel has bicycles on site for rent ($12/day) which are handy. If you have little portable bike lights, bring them with you though! (The flashlight function of an iphone also works tied into the basket at the front and be prepared to walk the bike up the final hill about 100m). You might also be treated to a parade of monkeys or an iguana in the trees surrounding the pool. Breakfast is good and nice to meet some of the other guests at the same time.

Cosy little place where you feel very welcome. Short walk to the beach and if you don't feel like walking friedly staff will help you get a Tuktuk. Friendly, cozy and clean! Great value for your money!

The rooms are fine. You live inside a remodeled container. The fridge is noisy, so we turned it of when we went to bed. You live in the nature, so expect ants and mosquitos that you need to bash before heading to bed. The howler monkeys might wake you up in the morning. The Tico-Tico breakfast with Lizano Salsa is very good! The staff is nice and friendly. The wifi was good and stable. Water pressure varied quite a bit. You live a little outside the city, so let the reception call you a TukTuk. It will cost you around 3000-4000 colones to get to downtown. The pool is small, but it does the job of cooling you down after a long day on the beach or so. Overall a pleasent 2 day stay at Green Sanctuary Hotel.
