Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pool area is great to chill and enjoy the views and the quiet - it is a very quiet area. Facilities are good and breakfast has a great choice of cooked eggs and bacon, cereals, bread and cold meat, yoghurt and fruit. All day you can enjoy the bar for cold drinks (self service). Need a car to get to bar, restaurants and shops as not anything local really - walkable I suppose but a steep hill back up. This is a must visit place run by a lovely couple.

This interesting, rustic farmhouse is in a quiet spot away from the larger hotels in Torrox yet within walking distance of the beach. Saskia was very welcoming and immediately made us feel at home. Our room was clean and well appointed, breakfast was great and well cooked by Vince! Many thanks.

The best thing about this hotel is the garden and the hosts, Saskia and Vince, who make you feel most welcome. It's located on a quiet area with great view over Torrox Costa, still just 10 min walk from restaurants and beach. We (2 adults, one child) stayed here for 4 nights while taking day trips around Andalusia and this place offered a perfect pitstop for us. We adults enjoyed the garden and self-service bar, daughter loved the pool. Would definitely recommend for anyone.

Whilst on holiday further down the coast we went to Torrox for an overnight stay with friends who live in Spain and are regular visitors to this lovely hotel. Saskia and Vince are very friendly hosts, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The service and facilities are excellent, we will not hesitate to visit again, highly recommend you give this hotel a try.

Our second visit, this time with grandparents as well as the kids. A lovely place to stay. Great location, close to the beach and amenities but at the same time an idylic spot for some rest and relaxation. Very welcoming and friendly hosts. We will be back!

Revisited this wonderful place last week with twelve friends for a reunion. It was as wonderful as ever! If you’re looking for modern, sleek accommodation then this place isn’t for you. It’s quaintly old fashioned,in beautiful grounds which include a swimming pool and tennis court, with wonderful views over Torrox Costa. As it has only twelve bedrooms you will get to meet other residents, usually over a drink in the evening sitting outside. Fantastic couple, Saskia and Vince run Cortijo....I’ll be back! One suggestion....if you have a disability some rooms are more accessible than others so it’s worth letting them know.

Stayed here for 2 weeks and had a very enjoyable time. Vince and Saskia are very welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The room was simple, well-equipped, clean and very comfortable. The breakfasts were very good and every day a choice of eggs cooked in different ways was offered. The help-yourself bar on the terrace is an excellent arrangement and offers very low-priced drinks. The grounds are spacious and there is a large swimming pool, a tennis court, a basketball court and a table-tennis table as well as plenty of areas to relax both in the sun and in the shade. It is a few minutes drive to the beach and probably 15/20 minutes to walk. Not easy to find but if you follow the directions given by the hotel and ignore maps or satnavs you should be OK. Watch out for the sign for the last left turn as it is partly hidden by a tree and a greenhouse and easy to miss. The hotel is not really rural - it is on the edge of an area of housing and more building is going on nearby. Just one minor niggles - the building is echoey so that doors closing or people talking loudly seem to be amplified. All in all a great stay and great value for money.

Very pleasant accommodation with charming hosts Saskia & Vincent. They make you feel at home, serve a very nice breakfast and do everything in their power to make your stay as pleasant as possible. It's quiet and relaxed. There is ample parking space and the beach and restaurants are 'just down the hill'

As we arrived we was amazed by the grounds and facilities on offer. The owners are friendly, welcoming and always available to help. Although the rooms could be slightly brighter the amenities and rooms are perfect. We will be staying again and would recommend to anyone. The pool is available during summer months.
