Attended a local sporting event at the end of October and used this hotel as base camp for 2 days. The owner (Steve) made us feel very welcome and delivered some fantastic dishes from his kitchen. The hotel offers a number of key features like free onsite parking and a well stocked bar. Carl.

Revisit to a fast improving place to stay in a peaceful quiet village. Great value for money, dog friendly hotel with an excellent host. Good place to stay if you want country sports activities, with shooting fishing and walking all available in the area.

A lovely night's stay after a week in Scotland. The owners Mary and Steven can't do enough for you .The rooms may seem dated but are spotlessly clean and the hot water was lovely for a bath.Full Scottish breakfast is what you need to have to set you up for the day.We ate in the hotel and it was lovely pub grub.My husband recommends the Balti but I had the salmon fishcakes. The Ecclefechan tart for pub was a treta. The young lady behind the bar was brilliant servind drinks, having a chat and serving meals. It would be a brilliant stop off for a lone traveller as they would make you so welcome and you would have someone to talk with. The only concern is that the outside and soft furnishings in the bedrooms need a revamp

Perfect overnight stop on the way up to Skye. Recently refurbished bedroom all spotlessly clean. Great pub food, try the lamb shank. Very friendly owner and bar staff. Engaging with the guests Highly Recommended In a very quiet village adjacent to M74

We have just arrived back after spending 2 nights at this very friendly, family run Hotel. The large bedroom was lovely and clean and likewise with the bathroom. Food was very good and a great atmosphere in the bar.
