Dragon Cay is definitely a hidden gem of Turks and Caicos. If you’re looking to rest and get away from your busy life for awhile, this is where to go. It’s secluded, and away from grocery stores/shopping centers. So if you love nightlife or shopping, this isn’t for you. And a rental car is a MUST. However, if you like peace and quiet, do it. I’ll list my pros and cons of the place. Pros: the staff is phenomenal, always asked if I needed anything. Ms. Evelyn, the host, messaged me almost everyday to check up on me. You literally feel like you have the whole island to yourself, and the Mudjin harbor just takes your breath away. Local authentic food is delicious. The water is so clear, it’s unreal. The sunset is majestic. Loved the rum punch pitcher from Ms. Evelyn upon arrival, so delicious. Cons: mosquitoes, please bring bug spray. I stayed in the sunset cottage, and there was an ant and roach issue. I notified the staff, and they gave me a strong bug spray (which worked for a few hours, but then the ants returned again). Marilyn (I believe she’s the manager) regularly messaged me to make sure all was fine, was also going to have the place sprayed by a professional. But by then, it was already time for me to leave. I noticed that someone in the reviews below complained about bug issues in the same cottage, so maybe it’s something that management need to fix for the next guests. Out of the whole trip, this was the only issue that was cumbersome. Another con is that if you’re going during off season (which I did), most restaurants will be closed. But that is why they ask that you buy groceries in town. Overall, I had a good experience. The peace, quiet, beautiful water, and the kindness of the locals made my trip so much better. I will return with my family next time. I would give it 5 stars if it weren’t for the bug issue.…
