We had the opportunity to stay here recently after a wedding in Auckland and found this place through TA. Although not completely up to the minute in furnishings - I would have to say that this is quite possibly the CLEANEST place we have ever stayed in. Although Pauanui as a town has a very very sleepy feel to it...

This place was just great!! we enjoyed every minute of being here. excellent equipped kitchen in the rooms, free dvd's, free spade rental, very cozy and very very clean. The owner has perfectly explained all sights around Coromandel region. We would love to come back and stay longer. Awesome place!

Nice atmosphere to relax and to enjoy the pleasant night view. Was surprised to see so many stars in the sky. Place is clean and modern and with the car park just beside, it makes it an easy way to load the luggage. Only con is that it is the location of the lodge is far away from the main...

I am amazed to read all these glowing reviews for the Pines. Unfortunately it fell far below our expectations and previous experience of hotels/motels in New Zealand. The pictures on the website bear no resemblance to the actual apprearance of the site which implies that the wonderful views are to be seen from the motel. Our small, poorly designed and...

Hello Mrs Penrose Thank you for your review. I do remember you staying here. Just as you can't understand "all these glowing reviews" , I can't understand much of your criticism. Suffice is to say we have returning guests who ask for the unit you stayed in. They really enjoy the peace and privacy and the outlook in to the...

Trips to Hot water beach (thanks Barry for the towels and shovel!) and Cathedral Cove were some of the highlights of our NZ holiday! We would everyone recommend to stay and...

From the moment we arrived we felt right at home by the friendly welcome we received. The units were clean, comfortable and spacious. Nothing was too much troulbe for the owner, who helped us with our touring, and telling us about the local history of the Coromandel Peninsular. This is a lovely place to relax and unwind, while using it...

We read the TripAdvisor reviews before booking and were pleasantly surprised. The accommodation was clean, cheerful with all the comforts including a much welcomed pot of plunger coffee. Our host was very helpful making sure we knew the area and had everything we needed. We could have easily stayed another night.

On our travels around North Island NZ we were mainly staying in boutique hotels but when looking for places to stay around the Coromandel the choices were more limited. A quick search on trip advisor lead us to booking here ... and absolutely no regrets - everything perfectly neat, clean and comfortable; a good bed; Tea and fresh ground coffee,...

The Motor Lodge is part of a very luxurious estate of holiday / weekend homes for the rich of Auckland, complete with its own airstrip. As others have already remarked, host Barry was extremely friendly and very helpful. We spent two nights in a chalet at the Lodge while touring the Coromandel Peninsula, and were very happy with our choice....

We stayed at this motel on the last leg of our grand tour of NZ and couldn't have found a more perfect bolt hole to unwind and relax. It is situated in a purpose built resort which means that during the week and off-season (when we went), it's blissfully quiet. The Motel has wonderful views and is well appointed -...
