We spent two very enjoyable nights at Bushland Park Lodge - a special hideaway in the beautiful Coromandel area. Reinhard and Petra are excellent friendly hosts and provide delicious food and wines. Fantastic nearby beaches and forests together with amazing night skies plus a gloworm grotto in the extensive garden all help to make this a memorable location.

The only negative side of our stay at Bushland Park Lodge and Nikel Strausse was that we could only stay for 2 days. This is a truly beautiful spot in the world and only a couple (maybe 3) hours from Auckland. It is a great location at which to take some beautiful little hikes and from which to drive to...

What a wonderful place! So calm and peaceful! An ideal starting point for hiking trips in the nearby bush with the lovely waterfall. Also to the lonely and natural beaches it is not far. And we know – in the evening there is an excellent dinner waiting – prepared by the boss Reinhard specially for us. One evening we have...

We booked this, knowing that the location was not great for us, but the reviews and the marketing made it sound impossible to miss. However, out of all the places we stayed on our tour, this is the only one we felt was overpriced - and we were in the cheapest rooms. As it was in a remote location we...

We are operating our Boutique accommodation with fine dining since 15 years in a remote nature spot where we offer our dinners with fresh home-grown organic produce and with the best supplied “Export Quality Meats”. All meals are individually cooked to our guest wishes and dietary needs. Such 3 course candlelight dinners in an exclusive and tranquilly atmosphere is not...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Bushland Park Lodge & Retreat in Whangamata created its own speciality for a high quality and very personal hosting. The owners "Petra & Reinhard" love to share their passion with their guests for fine dining, glass-art & pure nature with New Zealand "bush & beach". Exclusively only 3 fortunate couples experience this very unique place in the Coromandel Peninsula New Zealand with a variety of attractive features: A private glow-worm grotto just 3 minutes from your dining table. Outdoors, close to the lily pond and with total privacy a "Double Slipper Bath" to gaze at the Milky Way stars with Champagne & Candles. Your "private Chef" offers high class cuisine in the Lodge's dining wine cellar; often on his own created art glass dinnerware. Bush walks to the famous Wentworth Falls start at the doorstep, and glorious white-sand beaches are only a few minutes' drive away. Two golf courses close by. Bushland Park Lodge is not just a stop along the way, but a destination in its own right. ... more   less
