Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Location 10/10 direct bus into York, only 15 minutes, bus stop at end of the drive. About a 30 minute walk along the beck to a great pub in Wigginton, but it is VERY muddy!
Price 10/10
Pitch 7/10 our pitch on the CL site flooded, luckily we moved to an adjcaent one when it became available. Electrics dropped out twice during our 4 night stay. Limited space for an awning on one pitch. But on a positive note the CL site is sheltered from the wind.
Facilities 5/10 always clean and warm but in a state of disrepair. Broken toilet seat, broken shower wall mount, only one wokring shower in the mens, damaged hairdryer out of use.
Overall for the location and price we would stay again, hoping the facilities have been repaired and improved.

Arrived about 2.30pm only 3 pitches available to choose one right opposite the bins and toilets, the other one at the furthest point from the facilities. We got in one midway. The site is very exposed so you are looking at other caravans / campers from all angles. It rained quite heavily so it was all very muddy. There are 4 shower rooms plus 2 extra toilets for the whole site (except the CL club) they are basic and the water pressure is dreadful. There is one mop to use so you are basically mopping dirt onto dirt. Bus stop is outside the camp with buses every hour to 2 hours. No evening service/ no Sunday service. Cafe on site open till 4. We didn’t go in. But the menu online looked good. Probably more of a summer place than winter etc. there are a lot of pitches that must have seasonal caravans on . Personally I’d rather pay a bit more for a bit more privacy and better facilities but at £34 a night it’s not exactly a bargain either. Not for us booked 2 nights left after 1st night.

A well placed site in terms of proximity to York and the lovley village of Wigginton with several nice pubs.
unfortunately the shower facilities are poor not heated and very weak flow from shower. Not great for February when a warm shower is needed.Had to boil kettle to do washing up as no hot water in the 1 sink provided. Would probably be a decent place if you have your own on board facilities but we wouldn't return with our camper as it was quite expensive for this price we expect good facilities.

Not the site mentioned in previous reviews. 3/4 of site are seasonal pitches with only about 10 pitches available , 5 of those are at the furthest point on the site which is where we were as two MoHo’s and wanted to be close. Site entrance and road is riddled with deep pot holes and in need or major repairs. Pitches flooded so we were paddling in water from stepping out of van (had to go buy a pair of wellies). There were no buses on the Sunday, which was not pointed out in write up so walked to Clifton Moore along the very busy road as no footpath. The cafe was shut so that was disappointing, all in all it was not what we expected. Upside of all that was the facilities were good, toilet/shower rooms were clean and warm.

We have stayed at this site, although not for a couple of years. The communication was good by email. We were disappointed with the site itself. The showers now need an update and weren't as clean as we have found before. The barrier has been removed and was a concern that anyone could drive on the site. The site is in a fantastic location for York, with a lovely cafe on site, but it is a shame about the shabbyness.

Overall a nice quite site ,seems to be a lot of yearly caravans on site which narrows your options when trying to pitch.
Ended up farthest from the toilets which is not a problem, but when you empty your chemical toilet its quite a trek only one at the entrance ?
Would like to see chemical waste point a little further down the site
Enjoyed the cafe which is dog friendly with helpful staff.

Scenic site. We stayed on the C.L. part, gravel and grass. All facilities worked although looked a little tired. Site staff were very accommodating when we had to book extra days. Cafe on site excellent and allows dogs.

What a lovely campsite! Really recommend especially because it’s dog friendly. It’s so close to york and many other great little finds. Definitely go to the Lavender field if you stay around this area. The only downstairs of my stay was the spiders in the toilets and showers!

We have actually stayed here before in 2021 in the glamping pods, they are amazing.

Site has beautifully maintained grounds, apart from the fowl stagnant water, near main park. Laundry facilities has 1 washing machine & 1 non working dryer, which we desperately needed b/cause of all rain & showers & toilets in need of work
