Il Greppo is in a perfect location - vineyards, sunflowers and short driving distances to the classic hill towns of Montepulciano, Pienza and Montalcino. The pool area is beautiful and quiet. While our hosts were friendly, we weren't offered the kind of interaction and local advice we've enjoyed at similar stays. We understand they are busy, but we were never able to schedule a wine tasting or cooking class despite staying for seven nights and asking several times. The apartment itself was spacious, with adequate beds and bathroom space. However, the kitchen was lacking in staples like salt, pepper, coffee or tea. Overall, we enjoyed this region immensely, and appreciated the quiet space.

Friendly guests, we are sorry if during your stay our priority was the harvest! what a strange fact for a farm !? I think you ignore the reason for the word agriturismo ....... and this I'm sorry a lot! I trust that in your cruise trip we will know where to go Why not ignore is not a good thing

We stayed at Il Greppo, for the first time, in early August. The location was perfect for us as we were able to drive in about an hour or so to Siena or Arezzo and less than that to Pienza or Montepulciano, which made for nice day trips and yet be able to get back in time for dinner at Il Greppo (we had chosen the breakfast plus dinner option). Some our fellow guests were families with young kids, so they appreciated the pool at the end of the day. This may be too rustic a location for some people, but we loved being surrounded by Il Greppo's own vineyards (see photo) and having a different Tuscan dinner every night! Above all, the family that runs Il Greppo wins over their guests with their charm, their helpfulness and the great tips they give for visiting Tuscany. Great B&B for a quiet stay away from the bustle of urban hotels.

A great website encouraged me to book . We stayed in September and the pot plants were dead or unkempt, the lawns overgrown, the paths dirty, the furniture and furnishings tired, and no screens on windows to keep out the mozzies. With no airconditioning, which we did know about in advance, opening the windows was required as it was so hot. Reception hours limited and internet was poor. We were apalled to find an old cigarette butt and ash in the coffee maker. We left the accomodation several days early, thereby incurring extra unplanned costs for our holiday although a small discount was given by Il Greppo management when we requested it. The pool area looked good, although we did not use it On checkout we were given two bottles of wine as a compensatory gift and the red , made on site , was Excellent. A very disappointing stay.

We had a lovely week staying in this fabulous part of Italy, but I think that was in spite of rather than because of the accommodation. Il Greppo has a lovely pool which is set in wonderful surroundings, but I'm afraid our apartment seemed like an afterthought. It was basically a farm building which also houses a laundry, a 5-minute walk from the pool area. The external area was unloved, the bedrooms dingy and we had the benefit of no sound proofing between us and the laundry so we able to hear everything that took place there! Other disappointments were the 'playground' which consisted of a broken dangerous looking climbing frame and swing, the unusable table tennis table and a rather sad boules area. It was all quite neglected and gave the general impression that there was little effort going into the tourism part of this 'Agritourism' business Having spent a number of wonderful holidays of this kind in Italy, our experience at Il Greppo was by far the most disappointing. 4 star prices for 2 star experience.
