The hotel is quite old and could use some work. The room was small and outdated. It was clean, however. Like most Mexican resorts we've been to, the bed was very hard. There are no in room amenities such as a coffee pot or an iron. The food at the buffets was mediocre, and getting a reservation at the a'lacarte restaurants nearly impossible. The staff is friendly, and the bartenders quick and efficient. Al in all, it was not the best resort we've been to, but the price was reasonable for a quick one week getaway from a Canadian winter.

I don’t like to be negative but I thinks it’s important to be honest so others can make informed choices. This was my first time at this resort. Upon arrival I found the front desk staff unfriendly and bland. No welcoming excitement for the guests. We were kinda left to figure things out on our own. We stayed in Block 5. No elevators. So people with mobility issues take note. Our room was very old and dated. Our dresser was broken and the floor lamp fell apart when I went to use it. The room safe was broken. The bathroom was like a public restroom. Room had no fridge. The wifi unavailable. The bed was fine and very clean. The food was mediocre at best. No traditional Mexican cuisine, and the quality of the food varied from day to day. To book times at the a la carte restaurants, you had to be down in lobby at 8 am where there was wifi in order to try to make an online reservation. All the times booked up quickly. We missed out. The beach chairs were impossible to get unless you were there at 6 am. But I suspect this happens at all resorts. Chairs around pools were more readily available but hard plastic, so like most people we had to go buy an air mattress in order to pad the chairs. I did love the number of pool areas there were and corresponding bars. Extensive choice of drink choices. Great lounges. The bar staff were amazing! Also the servers and buffet staff were wonderful. The grounds were beautiful and well groomed. Beautiful pool areas. The beach is spectacular!! Lots of beautiful sand and you could walk for miles. Amazing sun sets. Not a party resort. Older clientele . To sum up …this resort is in a beautiful location. It’s too bad the accommodations need serious upgrading. It’s old and dated. A very budget resort with no perks or pampering.

Dear Miss Mary, Receive a cordial greeting, hoping you are having a pleasant day. At Decameron Hotels we greatly appreciate your dedication and time sharing your experience in detail. We are happy knowing that you enjoyed your room, our gardens and the location of the hotel, also enjoying our beaches and bay. Also, we are pleased to know that you enjoyed our wide variety of drinks and the service provided by the bar staff. Regarding the attention of the reception staff, the lack of a refrigerator and Wi-Fi in the room, the use of our app for a la carte restaurants and the variety of food in restaurants; as well as the reservation of lounge chairs, we extend a sincere apology for not meeting your expectations in these services. We are currently improving and innovating each of these services; We have Wi-Fi in all our common areas, minibars in limited stock for guests with medication, assistance every morning for our reservation app and more, with which you can enjoy your stay better and in a more pleasant way. Finally, we hope to have your visit again so that you can see all these improvements creating more unforgettable experiences. Kind regards Mariana Argote Guest Service

The rooms are good and clean. The service was great. Love that th life guards will take towels away from loungers if not used in a timely matter. This hotel has a few food options. The market is about a 20 minute walk away. There is only one block of rooms with an elevator. Block 1 is ocean front. Block 2 is a great location for activities. Block 3 has the elevator. Block 4 near the second lobby. Block 5 near adult pool and block 6 is near the spa. There are5 pools all different sizes. Two buffets. 2 snack shacks. 3 or 4 bars and another buffet restaurant. Beds a a little hard in block 2.

Run down, non English speaking, not allowed to remove any food from any restaurant. Limited choices & buffet was subpar. I had special dietary needs with allergy to shellfish and non of my issues were addressed. I was told ‘take it or leave it’. No food delivery allowed to the resort. My drink was spiked & can firm with medical reports. I’d never stay here again.

I went with my cousin between feb 26th to March 3rd as a last minute vacation. I will write the pros and cons: Pros: 1) Staff is very friendly and service was well. - keep an eye out for bartenders Angel and Fran they are amazing! 2) the sun set is absolutely beautiful! 3) the resort is a little out dated but cute on the outside - you have 7 pools to choose from. And one of them is 18+ only. 4) the beach absolutely beautiful!- water is only calm in the morning! And big waves in the afternoon 5) a lot of entertainment options! 6) you can explore Bucerías with no issues during the day! 7) Disco bar is open until 3:00AM! 8) The atmosphere of other travellers are amazing! I met a lot new people! 9) They have towel exchange booth, which is awesome! - 9am-6pm Cons: 1) the rooms are outdated- I wore flip flops in the shower. - it didn’t look clean even after if it was cleaned. 2) The food definitely could have been better! 3) you only have wifi in certain areas. Such as block 4 and in lobby. 4) Our room smelled like sewage on day 4. - it was really bad ! And they couldn’t do anything about it. 5) A el Carte - food definitely not worth it for the Thai and Jap Jap. - you’re better off eating off resort or in the buffet.. in order to get one you have to log onto internet at 8:00am. - it will be the fight of your life! Haha 6) they need better lounging chairs. - I recommend buying a floaty to make the lounging experience more comfortable. 7) by the pools they only had 2/3 bars open.. some times you be waiting a bit to get your drinks. 8) There is a disco, but I feel like the music selection could be better! 9) no snack bars when the restaurants are closed between meals. 10) the pools are closed after 6pm- what??? Like I said, you get what you paid for! - would I revisit ?- probably not, but if I do it’s because of the other travellers and the bar tenders ! - I did enjoy myself though!

We stayed at the Royal Decameron from Feb 28 to March 6. In writing reviews I base my review on what we paid for. In this case we went with a lot of family so we looked for a more budget hotel. I think everyone needs to consider this when writing reviews - The Royal Decameron is a 3 star maybe 3.5 stary hotel if you are looking for a 5 star then book that. Food - the buffets were not bad for each meal we actually preferred them over the specialty restaurants - typically the specialty restaurants are a bit better this was not the case here. The Japanese we have always found the best at other resorts, it was for all of our family maybe a 2 star here - they don't cook in front of you just bring out dishes - I am not really that picky with food but we could hardly eat any of it, it just was not good. We did go off the resort 3 nights for dinner and enjoyed that. As all have said here registering for the restaurants is terrible and this is something they really need to resolve. Again this is a 3 to 3.5 star that is what I would rate the buffet Bars - the bartenders were great here it did not matter if you tipped or not they were all excited to serve you. I have never experienced this before we were a group of 12 and we all definitely agreed the alcohol was watered down. I cannot drink a lot without needing to stop and here I did - most resorts you can really taste the alcohol not here. Beach - It is beautiful - I prefer the Caribbean/Atlantic ocean, but this was a beautiful beach. We did some boogie boarding and that was fun. Not nearly enough beach chairs if you want one you had to be up by 5:30 or 6 am to get one saved. Pool - We stayed at pool 1 where all the action was - the animation team was a lot of fun, they had fun games all day and you could just play games as well. Again we had to head out every morning at 6 am to save chairs otherwise you would not get one and this was for all of the pools - this resort is huge and there really are not enough loungers for the guests they get. The loungers at pool 1 were the most comfortable the other pools and on the beach were just plastic ones - again you are at a 3 3.5 star hotel if you want comfort book a 5 star. Rooms - we were in block 5 - no elevator, only one of the blocks has an elevator. The rooms are old and tired but clean. Our taps leaked in the bathroom and our balcony door did not lock. We had a king bed and it was actually quite comfortable. It was quite a hike from pool one - the resort is so large we had to do a lot of walking. Staff - we found the staff very friendly and helpful, always serving you with a smile. The manager at the buffet at block 4 was so great to our family my grandson turned 2 while we were there and he arranged a cake and they all sang to him it was awesome. Check in - fine no issue went quick Check out - this is where I rate the hotel as a 1 star - I have never stayed at a resort even a 3 star where they won't accommodate a later check out or at least a courtesy room - yes they were very booked but most resorts hold at least one room as a courtesy room - check out was early at this resort 12:00 - other resorts I have stayed at it's been 1:00 or later. When you have a later flight and hour pick up is not until 3:30 you want to stay and enjoy the ocean and sun for longer but if you can't have a quick shower before you leave that makes it difficult. This to me was where customer service lacked and the resort should look into doing something here for their guests. Since there were 12 of us leaving at the same time we tried to talk to the front desk to consider this but they would not budge and kept saying they were too booked up. This resort is older and This is a good resort if you have a smaller budget, but when you do you review, review it based on the star level it is. The resort is in need of several repairs and updates but again it is a 3 3.5 star so you will not get fancy and new. We had a great time here with our family - only bad experience was our check out.

Dear Guest, Receive a cordial greeting, hoping you are having a great day. At Hotel Royal Decameron Complex your opinion is very important, which is why we appreciate the time you have dedicated to sharing your experience with us through this platform. We are sorry that your stay was not completely satisfactory. We take into account your comments about our rooms and we are currently working on changing the furniture in each of them, the safe boxes are also being replaced by digital boxes in order to give a more modern touch to our rooms and that do not need to use a key for their safe deposit box. At our destination we have hospitality rooms and usually, the service is offered to those guests whose flight departs later than their check out time and in our reception area you can request said room; It is important to mention that this service is available depending on the hotel's occupancy. In your rooms, you will find a regulation where we inform you that it is not allowed to remove beach and pool chairs and that after one hour, if the lounge chairs are not being used, the staff may remove the items so that the lounge chairs can be used by others. other guests. We continue to reinforce with our staff, providing this information to each guest. We are also waiting to receive new lounge chairs so that there can be more availability in our areas. The food and beverage staff is working every day to improve our food, both buffet style and in a la carte restaurants; Likewise, the bar area works every day to improve the quality and variety of the drinks we offer to our guests. We appreciate each of your comments and we will take them into account to improve in each of these areas and provide you with the quality service that you deserve. Finally, we hope to have the opportunity to offer you a more positive experience in the future and that we can create unforgettable moments for you and your family.

Fewer staff speak English so lots of miscommunication. They told us they were going to change the safe but never did in 5 days, some inconvenience as we had to find a place to store valuables. Saving chairs is unbelievable as they are all saved by 8am and never occupied until after lunch. Staff would move stuff if you complained, then you had to face the wrath of the savers who showed up later. Lobby would not change money, so fewer people leaving tips. Reservations for a la cartes were all booked 2 minutes after the desk opened so didn't get any. The rest of the services were as expected, nice rooms, good food choices, great entertainment and a quiet pool for building 5.
