I hadn't read the small print during the booking that the WiFi connection is available in the public areas of the hotel and not in the rooms so that was a bit annoying for us but I should have noticed this when booking the hotels for our trip... The room was an ok size and clean ; the location was great to get around and yet not bang in the middle of the town among the evening noise and hustle . . The staff is lovely, we don't speak Italian but we got by. They were very kind to boil the eggs for our breakfast that we had bought ( the Irisman likes eggs for breakfast :) breakfast consisted of a lot of sweet stuff, it's not ideal but this seems to be the Italian way in general. I think the lack of WiFi in the room is something I'd change... The bed was a little bit on the hard side too , otherwise - no complaints. …
We just spent one night here, and it was peaceful and lovely. The rooms are small, but have everything you need, including lightning fast WiFi and internet. The breakfast was excellent as well with a very charming and friendly waitress who provided perfect service. If we were to return to Favignana we would definitely stay here again. The proprietess recommended the incredible tuna industry museum which was a true highlight of our trip. The nightlife, food and passagiata in Favignana is most enjoyable.
This is one example where TripAdvisor failed me. Lots of glowing reviews and only 2 or 3 "negative" ones. I can't believe the reviews after having stayed there. There is no inclination toward hospitality in evidence among the staff. We were greeted with indifference - no smile, no welcome, no effort to start the stay off on a positive note. I am an American who has lived 5 years in Italy so I am VERY used to bad service and small, lousy hotel rooms. Even so...We were solemnly led to our room -- keep in mind that the hotel's website says "spacious and well lit rooms". Ok, where? The room had one window, no sun or sky even possible to glimpse as it looked out onto the restaurant area where they serve a (zero-fresh-products) breakfast and (rapid-fire) dinner - literally a guarantee of no privacy and lots of noise. We asked to change rooms and the request was, mercifully, granted. Throughout the three-day stay NOBODY offered any advice, asked how we were doing or even greeted us with a smile. As is the Italian high season custom they make you take dinner as part of the price of the room. We decided to eat there just the first night and to explore the town's multitude of restaurants the other 2 nights. The hotel's dinner was sprinted through in 49 minutes...while the food was actually good, the big rush to get it over with was terribly annoying and left us sitting there at minute-50 wondering who had just robbed us of a relaxing dinner while on vacation. The location of the hotel is fine -- close to town but far enough away from the chaos. Other than that, I would NEVER go back to this hotel. Mediocre room, ZERO hospitality, no passion at all for the hospitality business and a sense that running the place was just one big annoying distraction from doing something else they'd rather be doing.…
