A recommended base for touring. Rooms airy, breakfast excellent and Isabel a welcoming and helpful host. Good walks available from hotel. This is an ideal base from which to explore the Cher and Loire valleys

Stayed three nights in May with a arty of ten. Exceptional rooms, light and airy, good bathrooms, great location and unbeatable views of the river. Isabel the hostess most helpful and pleasant, good breakfast and very clean. Notably quiet despite being by the weir but easy distance to the major sights. Mill workings still in place and add interest.

The place was very nice and special. Pros: great view to the Cher river, a good location for visiting the chateaus around. it's located in a old millhouse that was transferred into a charming inn. The sevice was very good and warm, The breakfast was excellent, with local food and home made cheeses. there is a nice living room to... More

Late review from July We stayed for 2 nights, using the Moulin as a base to travel out. It's situated in a wooded plot, and as per the name, is on the bank of the Cher with the old mill working parts visible internally. It is not an upmarket chateaux, but an old working mill sympathetically modernised to a pleasant... More

We stayed for four nights at the very end of summer. Isabelle was tremendously helpful in making restaurant reservations and offering her "two cents" about our days' itineraries. The room was clean and beautiful and right over the mill. The setting was splendid. Do not mistaken, though, you are not paying chateau-type prices and you should not expect chateau-type luxury.... On our recent trip to France my wife, daughter and I spent 3 days and nights at Moulin du Port. Our experience was perfect. Isabell was an exceptional hostess. She was wonderful about making suggestions and reservations for dinner. Her breakfasts on the sun porch were delightful. When I made the reservation I was concerned about the size of the... More

We had a lovely room. Big shower and separate loo. Lots of hot water. The bed was comfy with spotless white linens. Square pillows but as I always travel with my own feather one, no problem! Isabelle our host was delightful and very helpful re restaurants etc. We would definitely stay again.

This B and B on the banks of the Cher is a beautifully situated old mill surrounded by peaceful gardens with a small private pool complete with sun loungers and sun shades. The owners have preserved the workings of the mill and the mill race in their original condition and have incorporated them into the fabric of the building for... More

Four friends travelling together received a warm welcome even though our check in was late after our long drive. The breakfasts were delicious and served in a conservatory area overlooking the river. The locality was ideal for accessing the chateaux. We felt very much part of the family staying with Isabelle and Thierry. The rooms are beautifully furnished, giving a... More

Stayed in one of the cottages for 5 days. Lovely location close to shops and restaurants (10/15 min walk). Comfortable cottage - 2 bedrooms, kitchen, lounge, toilet and bathroom plus small outside garden. Hosts very friendly and helpful including when problems identified. This was not luxury but really good value. More attention needs to be given to ensuring that the... More
