Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just come back from two weeks at camping Du Quinquis. Our family two children 9 & 11 had a wonderful time. We stayed in one of the static caravans. The site is smaller but this makes is feel more friendly and safer. The staff and all the team are lovely and luckly they all speak good English. They go out of they way to help you.
There was a 50%/50% mixture of French and UK familes on the site which made it easy for our children to make friends. There are no slides at the pool you see at other large camp sites but that made the pool area quieter which was nice and no issues getting sun beds.
There is a bar area and they do enterainment some evenings with live bands. The food is not extensive but is very good - especially the pizzas. You can order fresh bread each day on site.
The site is about three miles away from a choice of beautiful sandy beaches.
Supermarkets not far a way by car. Can hire bikes to see the beautiful Brittany countryside.
If you love the large Eurocamp sites this site will not be for you.

This is the 3rd camping holiday we have had as a family in France and the first time we have stayed so far North (previous holidays were in Dune du Pyla and Argeles Plage). We had our 14 year old daughter with us so chose an English site hoping that there would be a better chance of her meeting other English teenagers, which she did.

We arrived at the site before 10am after a very easy drive from Roscoff, and although the website says arrivals after 2pm we were made welcome by Andrew (site owner with his wife Carol) and given a choice of pitches for our large tent. We were provided with free loan of plastic table & chairs and also hired a full size fridge - saving loads of space in the car, something the other sites did not advertise or provide.

There were not loads of tourers on the site as it is mainly static caravans, most of which are owned by English families although there were a few French people there certainly it is mainly English people.

The facilities were very clean and more than adequate for our needs. The swimming pools were great with plenty of sunbeds. There were a few activities for adults but it was mainly kids activities although I did go to the keep fit one morning and it was good. In the evenings there was often something happening and the prices weren't too bad, compared to what other site bars charge.

The weather wasn't fantastic whilst we were there but I don't think that was anything to do with Andrew and Carol.

If you like to be at a site where you can walk somewhere in the evenings I don't think that this is the site for you, as it is about 1.5 miles into the nearest village but that didn't bother us, we really enjoyed the peace & quiet and appreciated the "no noise after 11pm" rule. It's not suited to anyone looking for night life but the website does highlight that. Next door is the Quinquis animal park, which is well worth a visit.

I don't think we have any negatives about this site, the owners seem to have it pretty well sorted. There is a takeaway if you can't be bothered cooking, we didn't use it but our daughter did and said that what she had was ok. There is wifi on the site, paid for through an internet provider but it was remarkably fast and did what we wanted it to.

It's very rare that we return to the same place twice but we are already thinking about returning to this site next year. There is a lot to see in the area, it really is very beautiful and there are lots of lovely little coves to discover if you drive out to find them.

If anyone wants any information please drop me a line, I'd be happy to help if I can.

We visited this site in June 2023 and were surprised to see several Workers Vans staying on site. This made it noisy in the morning around 7am with workers vans leaving site and after their return from work in the evening where they would play loud music whilst drinking beer and standing around topless most of the night. Not ideal when on holidays as a family. We spoke to a few people, and they stated that Workers Vans are quite common outside of Peak Holiday times.
The 11pm rule on noise level on outside deck was also not being followed as one of our neighbouring Vans were still drinking and talking loudly around 3am. This was annoyingly the night before we were travelling home early the following morning. Perhaps we were unlucky with the times we visited, but would not be booking again.

Looked good on paper, reality not so great.

Van was average, site was average. Bar, pool, grounds all tired and scruffy in parts.

It’s a shame really. We expected so much.

Our oldest had a torrid time. Cliquey kids of her age all knew each other from previous visits and were less than enthusiastic about newbies. The kid could normally make friends in an empty room so we were truly surprised.

Bikes....eesh. Cheap and nasty when they were new, much worse and not very safe now they are old and knacked.

Owners pleasant enough people to start with, boss-man owner indulged in passive-aggressive behaviour later in the holiday due to, as it transpired, nervousness over our bar tab which had initially been offered with enthusiasm. Apparently he believed – from the get go – that we were likely candidates to do a runner. Should have taken better note of his statement that the barman ‘was a pitbull..no one gets away from him...’

Claude and his missus were a delight, but will ignore you if you don’t buy their (too salty) food every day. Their chips are world class however.

All other staff were lovely but struggle to communicate what left and right hands are doing.
Had to fix our own gas leak as the maintenance staff had gone home and boss-man was away for the evening. Options were to switch of gas and do without hot water until tomorrow or risk it.

‘Wet and Wild’ for the children consisted of running a hose down a 10ft bank behind the pool pump room onto some plastic sheet and then sitting in the middle of the playing field for a bit....didn’t look wild, not that wet and, crucially, not much fun.

The assertion by some that they come, “Every year, for up to 6 weeks at a time...” led me to ponder: is this how far our collective standards have sunk?

Brittany is gorgeous in places, astonishingly similar to Cornwall but without the traffic.

Response from Quinquis29360, Owner at Camping du Quinquis
Responded 18 Aug 2013
As the owner of Camping du Quinquis I am really disappointed that you did not fully enjoy your holiday here with us. We always ask customers to tell us if something is wrong whilst they are here in order that we can put things right. Unfortunately, other than helping you out when you arrived having forgotten your holiday spending money, we were unable to address any of the other issues raised whilst you were here as you did not make us aware of them. We would have been more than happy to discuss your concerns. I would also just like to add that I haven’t been ‘away’ or off site in the evening since 12 June.

On arrival at the site we were pleased to find a well presented clean caravan. However on checking one cupboard found a gas boiler inside which had soot marks up the front- but thought little of it.We were so pleased to be in the caravan away from the rain.
Before going to bed the pilot light to the boiler went out but couldn't relight it.
Next morning told reception, the gas bottle was changed and the boiler relit with a match.
The following night-late the boiler went out again so waited until morning(August 13th) and relit-as told with a match.Shortly after there was a strong smell of burning and upon checking the cupboard the boiler was charred. It had sent out flames from the front(because the flue was so blocked with soot) scorching the casing melting the control knob and for some reason not setting fire to the cotton parasol which was next to it.
We vacated the caravan after waking our son and called at reception.
A maintenance man came out and said he would fit a new boiler that day.
My husband said there was nothing on or near the boiler saying when it was last serviced. He said if the caravan owners did not ask to get the boiler serviced then they did not service it.We had not booked through the owners but with the site and you would think they would be more concerned about safety.
When the boiler was took apart the service man said it was so choked up it couldnt have been serviced for years .
When we initially spoke to Andrew he played it down saying the boiler could be freshly serviced and within an hour a spider could build a web above causing the boiler to block up-ok.
Both Andrew and his wife did say it was the worst boiler incident they had had in 10 years of having the campsite-I say no servicing an accident waiting to happen.
His wife said they were now considering having carbon monoxide sensors fitted to all caravans.
Had to use the camping shower facilities while the boiler was being replaced and they were dated and rather unclean. We would not have liked to camp here.
Our son used the bike hire and takeaway which was fine and reception staff were polite.
The site was not what we expected, no nice areas to sit or walk around and rather shabby.

Nice caravan(once new boiler fitted) shame it wasn't on another site.Brittany is great we will be back but not here.

HI or family visited this small family run site this summer, we rented a large privately owned static van. The staff were friendly and polite English run, the site was clean and well maintained, the bar area is very small more like a pub shed than a bar. FOOD is available from a takeaway not particularly cheap but if your stuck it's always an option, bread is available to pre order however we found it's a lot more expensive than a large supermarket just down the road but I guess that's what your paying for to save you travelling. Lidl is another supermarket a bit further 15minutes drive but worth stocking up.
WE found the vast majority of the people on site owned their own vans, and although were polite they all made comments like they thought they owned the site not just a van, I didn't incur any issues with them but witnessed a lady van owner shouting at kids who were about 10years old for being silly in the pool, my children were a lot younger so didn't leave our site, it's quite fair to say and we spoke to another couple who also agreed it's a very clicky community, everyone knows everyone and love to stand round have what you can only describe as mothers meetings, or neighbourhood watch gatherings. Speaking to one elderly lady had her purse stolen by the pool and another couple had a large amount of no at taken from there van. Although the owners did apparently say its never happened before, I'd personally be precaucious. The beaches are lovely and a very small drive away very clean and clear. So in a nutshell it was an ok holiday if your looking for a very very small site no real shop on site want to drink in a pub shed like you can view pub sheds of Facebook, don't let the pictures fool you, and want to mix it up with a close nit community and want to have lots of conversations and be on first name basis with the site owners, this place is defiantly for you, I have been 100% accurate with this review and several people who also visited say the same and also a lot more negative points than I've mentioned.
Also watch how much of a cleaning deposit you put down as someone else we spoke to didn't get it back even though the van was spotless

Our family spent a week in the campsite at the end of August and although we enjoyed it, this was not as good as we thought with all the reviews
The Campsite is nice and has a nice feel about it, Caravans are good and the staff are very helpful. My main concern was first the value and secondly the generaly ethos of the campsite

On Value i thought the Bar was pricey and we seemed to be paying London prices ( seemed to be alot of londoners their). The bike hire was pricey as well and when you 3 kids who want one it is alot of money. Also i brought my own linen but that still did not stop the camp from trying to charge me for a weeks hire. I also read on one review that they felt the camp was very " clicky" which is was. It seemed that the people who have caravans on site think they own it and maybe writing the over rated reviews for the site

The other problem i had which may relate to the above mentioned was the pool area. There were far too many older children in the pool unsupervised? On 2 occassions we left the pool because my children felt intimated by gangs of kids who were unsupervised, i did hear one mother complain that her girl had been bullied by this certain gang.

The area around this is really nice which compensated the holiday

This is a fantastic small site in a beautiful part of Brittany, the vans are excellently kitted out with tv, dvd player, games, books, dvd's, huge pans for cooking and plenty of cutlery and crockery. The vans had tea and coffee in them when we arrived which was a nice touch. We have had two wonderful holidays at the site, which is small and friendly. The owners are always around if you have a question or need anything. We didn't use the children's club as we were with friends and our little ones were very happy. The evening entertainment was fun and low key, the bar area is well away from the vans so no issues with noise. The pools are great, clean and fun for all ages as well as table tennis, pool, volleyball and football pitches. The owners work hard to ensure there is something for everyone. Claude's take away is fantastic, everything from moules to spag bol to chips. The surrounding beaches are clean, well looked after and lifeguarded, everything from surfing to paddling to kayaking - it really is that great.

We have just returned from Quinquis and what a fabulous week we all had. We first visited in 2005 and our boys were very young and Quinquis offered lots of activities to keep them amused and entertained, our time at Quinquis was excellent back then. Seven years on and the site has evolved and grown to an even great family venue.

Owners Andrew, Carole and the team were very friendly and helpful, nothing is ever too much trouble for them. The site, pools, accommodation and resources are immaculate. Claude's take away is fab and the food is rustic and very much Breton. The surrounding villages and towns are pleasant and the beaches safe, clean and never busy. I would rate the site 10/10.

We have booked from 24th June to 7th July 2017, is the bar and take away open during this period?
Answer from AKM293
North East England, United Kingdom29 contributions45 helpful votes
Before the main school holiday period, we open the bar and takeaway according to demand and how many people are staying on the campsite. Usually, this means 2-4 times a week for the bar and at least twice a week for the takeaway. I hope that this helps.

How much does the WiFi cost for a 2 week stay?

The cost is 37€ or about £2 a day. You can use the access code on 2 separate devices although not at the same time. All areas of the campsite are covered but please be aware that the service is not designed for downloading or streaming video but for browsing, messaging and mailing it is absolutely fine.

Hi, Not really. You can get the train to Quimperle from all major French cities but locally it is car, bike or shank's pony.
