Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

Detailed Reviews
It looked like a very ordinary house as we knocked at the door but, inside we found a lovely boutique hotel, with a warm welcome, a great restaurant and a beautiful garden. The staff were friendly, efficient and extremely helpful, while the chef went out of his way to cook me a delicious meal that my restricted diet allowed me to eat safely. The breakfasts were beautifully cooked and presented too.Our room, which overlooked the garden, was spacious and comfortable, if a little plain, and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was small but equipped with an excellent shower and an ingenious drawer below the sink which stowed all our paraphernalia in a convenient place. The garden outside was a real feature with its large carp pond, fountains, mature trees and inviting places to sit and enjoy a pre dinner drink. A lovely place to stay which we would recommend.

Over a ten year period we have stayed in the hotel 2 or 3 times each year. On every occasion the standard of service and facilities remains high. With welcoming staff, where nothing is to too much trouble and, they pride themselves on offering the personal service that a smaller boutique hotel can give. A great range of breakfast foods that cater for different needs. Booking direct via their website the breakfast is complimentary. Hot power showers and complimentary room tea/coffee and shower products are the norm.
Car parking is available with any overflow accommodated opposite the building. Although on a busy road we did not experience any issues with traffic. Location is great for Guildford .

Another great stay at the Asperion Hillside. The staff at the hotel are second to none and nothing is too much trouble.
The hotel is clean and comfortable with everything you need for your stay.
Free onsite parking is available and should that get full there is ample parking off-road just opposite the hotel.
The on-site honesty bar is a lovely place to relax after a busy day.
Breakfast is made to order with good quality food and plenty of tea and coffee.
Location - this hotel suits my needs just a few miles from Guildford and Woking and in my experience offers better value for money/comfort than any of the hotels in the town centres.
We will definitely be back and have no issue recommending this hotel to other travellers

The hotel at £135 per night per room was expensive but i thought I would bite the bullet as it was my brother's birthday weekend. The room walls required repainting and the furniture was dated. Importantly the shower had no anti slip material on the bath surface and no grab handle on the wall. The staff and the garden were lovely, but I don't think it was value for money.

Fist of all, I thought I had booked the city centre location as I felt that this one was a bit far out without transportation. However, once there, I was pleased about the confusion. It is a beautiful location and environment and the hotel has a garden to die for. Inside, the room was spotless as was the bedding with a comfortable mattress and pillows. A range of Tea/Coffee supplied in room. Extensive Breakfast & Dinner menu (book direct with them and breakfast is included). I am not much of a foodie but other guests told me they were delighted with theirs. Service above and beyond (with a smile). They were going to allow me to cancel the second night- although it was outwith the cancellation period- however, I decided not to as I liked it so much and the public transport to town is hourly and inexpensive( £4 return), although the last one to return is 6.30. Taxi approx £15. I would definitely return but probably with my car in order to tour the surrounding area.
Thank you for the pleasant stay.

My experience here wasn't that great if I'm. Honest the only thing that was the member of staff who showed me my room very polite and friendly. Room I had wasn't great and dint sleep very well I had a touch bedside lamp that wouldn't turn off so was unable to sleep the shower being a smart controlled shower didn't work properly weather the batteries or something didn't work but couldn't get it to work. No instructions how to use it either carpet was dirty and other people's hair in the bed. Eye lashes and downstairs hair. It was relitively clean. Telly was small but functional but very over priced I just wanted a hot shower and some good sleep after a days work working away and never got it.

I stayed here for two nights and was a little disappointed. I arrived early for check in and was advised that i would need to pay an extra £30 to have my room made a priority room for housekeeping - I didn't think this was an issue however the woman behind reception came back and said that there was a different room available if I wanted to use that one - I accepted however was still charged £30 even though the room was already ready. The price of the room was very expensive already as I was expecting a nice country boutique hotel however the room was very small and had no character in it. The honesty bar is a nice touch however the prices are ridiculous. Also the location of the hotel is far from ideal, there is only one pub close by and nothing much else. Also the bed in my room was awful I barely slept for the two nights I was there. There were refurbishment works ongoing in the bar area so lots of wires hanging from ceiling. Also the wifi seemed to work better when I was sat outside - All in all the permier inn in the town centre would've been the better option in hindsight.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Asperion Hillside Hotel on Saturday 7th June as we were celebrating a special occasion. We booked this hotel and stayed in the four poster room the hotel exceeded our expectations.
It’s a small cosy boutique hotel with beautiful decor, outside in the garden area you will find a wonderful pond, the surroundings create a perfect picture especially when dining in the restaurant. .
The room was beautiful, bed was very comfortable with modern shower, tea and coffee facilities. The view of the garden from our bedroom was sublime.
The bar was well stocked with beverages and snacks and I loved the lighting and the ambience in the bar area.such great interiors.
The staff were welcoming and so accommodating. Breakfast was delicious with a great selection to chose from on the breakfast menu. Service was impeccable. Check out normally is at 11am but the staff kindly offered to allow us a later check out at 12pm for no extra cost, they were extremely hospitable.

We were visiting Worplesdon for a Golden Wedding party. Our friends recommended the Asperion Hillside and we were not disappointed. A couple of minor issues were effectively and quickly sorted, and particular thanks go to Lily on reception, Derek at breakfast and owner Daniel. We loved the immaculate garden with its lovely fish pond where we sat and enjoyed the sunny September morning before we left for the lunch party.

This is an exquisite hotel. Ultra clean and with an understated stylishness. A small number of rooms but immaculately looked after. The breakfasts are lovely and if you eat in their franchised restaurant in the evening, be prepared for a culinary delight. Nothing in this part of the UK is cheap, but I think their prices represent good value for money. The honesty bar is a particular favourite. Very well stocked and a beautiful room to sit and relax. My only critique? Soundproofing between rooms is poor. My neighbours had their TV on. It might as well have been in my room, and I didn’t think they had it on loud.

Yes - great showers too
HI Barry - I have no idea, you'd have to ask the hotel. (They are ultra friendly - so give them a call/e-mail).
