Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent. Very friendly and welcoming receptionist. Our room at the rear of the hotel was excellent, good decor, extremely comfortable bed and overlooking their beautiful garden, with the most amazing garden pond with the largest koi carp, truly magical when lit up at night. The shower was brilliant, my partner wants the same one for home it was that good! Parking and wi-fi were free, always a bonus. The honesty bar was a great touch, it was lovely to relax after dinner before going up to our room. Great breakfast (you need to book it the night before by 9pm) .. so much choice (even gf) and excellent quality. A very attentive gentleman served us, such good service. Room is tastefully decorated, it has some really beautiful light fittings and chairs. We had a really lovely stay, if we are in the area again, we would definitely stay here again.

We had a 1 night stopover for a family event. A beautiful, comfortable, spotless hotel. Bed and linen very comfortable. Very friendly staff. We would highly recommend this hotel. The lovely landscaped garden has an amazing Koi Carp pond, a lovely pace to sit and relax.

From the minute I walked in the door to this lovely property and was welcomed by Martin (I’m sorry if the name is wrong!) I knew it was going to be a lovely stay. The property is beautiful, peaceful and calm and my room was so lovely, bed so comfy and I had a view to the koi pond. I’d highly recommend booking to get the breakfast! It had everything! I’m really looking forward to going again soon!! Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay! X

Great, super clean hotel with excellent beds at a very good price. We were looking for somewhere near Guildford and after a poor nights stay in a pub moved to the Asperion Hillside and were really glad we did. We will happily return when in the area. Their garden is lovely and must be a gem in the warmer weather.

Lovely little boutique find! Great location, very comfortable and a really lovely team. Very tastefully decorated and very comfy bed! Importantly for me as a solo traveller. Felt safe and secure. Very easy to find and close to the centre of Guildford. Would definitely use again when there is another family celebration!

Great place ....Good breakfast and service. Our room was a little small for a family room buy we managed as we were out for most of the day. The honestly bar was a lovely touch as was the garden. Absolutely no other complaints would stay there again.

We have stayed here several times, the staff are always personal and usually have addressed us by name. Rooms though tight are comfortable, super comfy bed and immaculate modern bathroom. Temperature control on the radiator works well. We love the lounge and honesty bar, feels like home and would recommend both breakfast and gourmet dinner - with beautiful view over the garden.

I booked this hotel for my husband, who had to attend a family funeral. He was happy with all aspects of the stay: the room was immaculate, the bed was comfy, the breakfast delightful and the staff charming. The hotel was easy to find and communication beforehand was excellent.

We stayed at the Asperion Hillside for 2 nights. When we arrived at Asperion Hillside we were taken aback by the fact that we had to haul our heavy luggage up 2 very narrow flights of stairs. We do expect that some hotels don't have lifts, however this was not mentioned on their website or during the booking process. The room was ok, but not as pictured online and had very limited space for the price. Both nights we struggled to sleep due to noise from other guests and the onsite restaurant. Parking is also very difficult here - there is onsite parking for about 8 cars after which you have to park across the road on a muddy verge. Breakfast was meagre - very basic cereal, tea and coffee. The dining area was very formal and they expected us to book in our time and menu choice the night before if we wanted a cooked breakfast. An alcohol buffet in the foyer is on an "honesty system" which only encourages loutish behaviour (when the staff are not onsite overnight) - which we observed. Overall we wouldn't recommend this hotel.
