An exclusive rural retreat in Speyside Whisky Country offering luxury bed and breakfast, self catering and fully catered and serviced accommodation. Cardhu House is at the very heart of the Whisky Trail where more than half of Scotlands malt whisky distilleries are to be found. Situated a mile from the River Spey, famous for its salmon fishing, and the Speyside Way, a long distance walking and cycling route linking the Cairngorms to the Moray Coast.
Immediately upon arriving, we were greeted by our friendly host, Colin. He helped make a dinner reservation for us that night, even with some locations being fully booked. The room itself (Glenlivet) was gigantic and gorgeous. The bed was quite comfortable and the bathroom featured a towel heater. The breakfast was also quite good. We only had one night here, but would've loved to have stayed for more.

This is a well located beautiful country house. The hosts Sara and Colin are excellent, the rooms spacious and well appointed. There is plenty of space outdoors as well as a separate lounge. It also helps that the Cardhu distillery is within walking distance.

We are sorry that we only had one night here! Dave and Val were very welcoming, top- notch customer service and attention to detail. Our room (Glenlivet) was excellent. Lots of space, super-comfy bed and lovely shower room. Our evening meal and breakfast, all freshly cooked, was delicious. The location is beautiful and very peaceful. Thankyou for a brilliant stay. We would highly recommend Cardhu Country House Hotel.

We stayed for 5 nights touring the local distilleries and sightseeing. What a fantastic place to stay! Our room was on the top floor, with lots of space and a nice view. Nicely renovated bathroom. Comfy bed. But the surprising hi lite was the food! Their 3 course dinner for £30 was phenomenal. We only ate somewhere else once. But you need to book dinner ahead so reserve for an arrival dinner. You won’t regret it.

Exceptional, friendly stay with the warmest of welcomes in this lovely home on the Whisky Trail, close to The MacAllan experience. Beautiful room, comfortable bed. Food excellent. Fortunate to also have an evening meal which far exceeded many restaurants. Breakfast and evening meal served in the lovely dining room with an open fire. Will return and recommend.

This is our second time visiting this amazing B&B. Dave and Val Stewart are the ultimate hosts; we appreciate their care and hospitality. The rooms are delightful, clean, large and well equipped. Breakfast is wonderfully organized and presented, and we suggest you sign up for a dinner during your stay. The property is very central if you are planning whisky tours, and also very central for restaurants in other small towns. We can't say enough about this remarkable property and its hosts.

Our friends booked this place and we piggy backed off their plans, and we were all (8 of us) very, very pleased! Dave and his wife Val have something very special at Cardhu Country House. They were very accommodating; they remembered all of our names and my husband being vegan, Dave was proactive to offer him breakfast he knew would follow his diet. The trails leading from the house to other areas of Speyside were just beautiful. It’s too bad we didn’t realize until it was too late how many distilleries we could walk to from this spot! The room was absolutely lovely and cozy, and their attention to comfort but also staying true to this being their full time home was impeccable. I’m not sure I’ll ever make it back to Speyside again, but I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to friends and family.…

We stayed with Dave and Val in the Tamdhu room. The house is well looked after and simply beautiful. We had such a nice stay, we didn’t want to leave. Dave and Val welcomed us in like we were family. If they have a room available, look no further. Make sure you book in to have dinner. The food is all freshly made and home cooked. It was one of the best meals we had in two weeks in Scotland, beating out some Michelin experiences. I would go back in a heartbeat.
