Me and my partner stayed here this weekend. It was exactly as described and the photos didn't so it justice. Very peaceful, very clean and overall a great experience. Gerry was only a text away if we needed anything and always on hand to help. The lodge was perfect for the 2 of us and the hot tub was private and one of the largest hot tubs we've been in. Only downside for some people would be the hot tub didn't have a cover so when it rained you had no protection from the elements. Didn't stop us enjoying the peacefulness tho! We will definitely be returning in 2024!

Absolutely stunning lodge, just as described in the pics and a lovely private hot tub to enjoy. Only downfall for us was that it’s advertised as a quiet retreat, a place to get away from the craziness of life, yet the lodge next to us had a four ball of women set to enjoy themselves with music that we could hear over ours, over the telly when the door was shut, and late in to the night!! Ruined the tranquility of a lovely venue, let’s hope this is read by the owners and they access their clients better in the future!! Otherwise, one of the better lodges we have stayed in

Bed is very comfy. Found we had everything that was needed for our stay. Such an amazing location, watching all the wildlife on the lake while having food and drinks and also from the amazing hot tub. We are already planning on 2 visits here for next year. You cannot get any closer to a lake

We had a lovely Mon-Fri break , Gerry was there to welcome us & gave us a quick rundown of the hot tub etc . We stayed in Acorn lodge 11 The lodge was tastefully decorated, comfortable , spacious & well equipped, the bedroom was light/airy , comfortable, spacious - the bath and shower were both fab, a very comfy bed & plenty of towels. The hot-tub was ready for our arrival (it was one of the best we’ve had in the numerous lodges/properties we have stayed in ), it was situated on the decking area with a table & couple of chairs overlooking the water. The location is rural & car needed but this is what we like , we just go to chill. Just a few tweaks would make this a 5 !!Sorry this might sound picky but will make a difference for future guests if implemented - Lodge numbers to be larger to read on arrival, a few kitchen condiments for self catering would help when cooking/dining plus foil /film etc , a welcome gift is always appreciated eg eggs, cake or fizz, the guest folder needed updating/checking ** nearby pub was closed & the convenience stores info was slightly different. The outside of the lodges does not represent the inside , don’t let the first external expressions put you off - lodge /decking need a lick of paint, a bit of TLC & this lodge would be outstanding & defo a 5!! We can highly recommend The White Swan in Bubwith really nice reasonably priced home cooked meal. Gerry is warm & friendly and was only a text away which was appreciated. Overall we would recommend & prob stay again if the price was ok.

We stayed at lodge 16 (maple lodge) & the lodge itself was beautiful, very spacious with everything we needed and couldn't fault a thing. We didn't have any problems but Gerry was just a text away if needed and very helpful as he text us prior letting us know we could check in a little bit earlier. The lodge was very clean as well as the hot tub which was ready for us when we got there. It really was a beautiful stay & we had the best time.

Lovely quiet and relaxing place to be. The lodge had everything that you needed at hand. The hot tub was great as I am waiting for a knee replacement and it helped tremendously. The lodge was a great location to travel out and about. My husband is disabled and he was able to get into the hot tub. We would definitely come back.

The lodges are in a lovely peaceful setting and Acorn Lodge (14) overlooks the pond which is nice as there is abundant wildlife around. Acorn Lodge however does need some general refurbishment so definitely don’t go by the photos on Hoseasons as they must’ve been taken some while ago. The maintenance man definitely needs to do a bit more work. Whilst it was nice to receive notification that we could get into the lodge an hour early, I would’ve preferred it to be a little cleaner too, not as slap dash. For example, photo of bar stools shows how they’ve just gone over with mop instead of cleaning properly with a cloth. The fridge shelf was congealed with some substance too. All a bit disappointing really. The dishwasher is crap too, you end up washing your pots again by hand. The major plus is the hot tub on the deck especially when you get some afternoon sun.

I booked this lodge for a weekend break. On arrival the lodges have wooden panels, that are weather worn, and looked drab, but on entering the lodge we were surprised, how nice it was. There are storage heaters, which gave out moderate heat, and 2 massive doors that lead into the spacious bedroom, with a roll top bath, and large shower. The kitchen is well equipped, but could do with a washing machine or at least a tumble dryer, to spin swim wear once out of the hot tub. The big let down though was the TV, on terrestrial there are a few channels, but there is a FireStick connected to the TV, however it relies on internet connection which it states in the notes, is not guaranteed, so if you want to watch any channels you have to go through the Firestick for BBC IPlayer, or other channels. This was very disappointing and it kept losing signal, or constant freezing, and buffering. Luckily I took my Apple Mac which I tethered through my mobile phone. There is nothing on the site only the lodges, which although nice, could do with a refurbishment out. You are a 20 minute drive from York, and on the way there is a McArthurGlen retail park, which has plenty shops. Overall it was a nice break, but let down by the poor TV connection, could do with individual WiFi hubs.
