Greeted on arrival by Valerie and shown to a very large and grand room with four poster and ensuite. Room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was lovely, the locally sourced bacon was to die for. Valerie obviously works hard to cater for guests. I'd definitely stay again.

Stayed on the caravan site but not up to scratch ,the grass was overgrown and the geese poo was terrible ,the midges must have been waiting for us as we got eaten alive. The prices charged were on par with the caravan club but the facilities were nothing near their standards would not reccomend to anyone

The grounds were " meadow - like" and very pretty with many wild flowers when these guests stayed on the caravan park. It is accepted many prefer the grass much shorter. A new tractor mower was being purchased and the grass is now much shorter. The site is in the country and there is a lake. There are insects as...

Attended a friends wedding last summer and was shocked to see this venue being offered out for weddings . Despite a good sized function room in a lovely setting the room was dirty and took an army of pre wedding helpers to get it in a suitable state of cleanliness to host a wedding . The grounds were lovely but...

There were some lovely features and some slightly unfortunate ones. The lovely ones related to the house and surroundings (ignoring the caravan park which was virtually empty being winter). Interesting building, cheerful interior. I had no issue with the proprietor who was perfectly hospitable. The unfortunate aspects were that the heating in our room either was not put on or...

We booked Blackwood Hall with expectations of period furnishings and high quality breakfast at a cost of £120 per night for bed and breakfast. The room smelt damp and it wasn't overly clean. The furniture was cheap flat-pack and there wasn't a hint of period furnishing. The building itself was impressive in the terms of the hall, stairway and dining...

Blackwood Hall is a hidden gem for a special celebration event. The house is beautiful, with stunning grounds and venue to suit 80-90 guests. The catering was excellent and the team could not do enough for me to make my event special. I got to know Valerie the owner over the weeks and she was always helpful and very pleasant....

We have just returned from Blackwood Hall (yesterday) where we attended a celebratery Sat/Sun evening. From start to finish it was absolutely perfect - the food - the service - the premises were all terrific. Valerie couldn't have been more helpful and we only had to ask should we have required anything else ! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this...
