Within a 30-40 minute drive of both Leeds and York, The Owl Hotel is a great place from which to base your stay in Yorkshire. Put your feet up in our comfortable bar and restaurant area after a hard day's exploring in historic York or the Howardian Hills. Book one of our 22 rooms and stay the night. If you're hungry, our fine menu of pub classics, curries, grills, and roast chicken dishes will be sure to appeal. Fancy a steak? Ours are cooked to perfection. And with a dedicated children's menu, we've got plenty to satisfy little appetites too, with smaller versions of pub favourites. We're a real country pub serving great British favourites in a friendly and sociable atmosphere. We look forward to seeing you soon!

We stayed in the Owl whilst down for a funeral and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating & friendly. Rooms were excellent value for money, spotless & really comfy beds. The food was lovely & great service Would definitely use the hotel again.

Modern, quiet and ultra clean rooms. Fabulously comfy bed and pillows. Lovely pub, we had dinner. The steaks were cooked to our taste and the chips were probably the best chips I've ever had in a restaurant, crispy and golden. Great service from the bar staff. Really nice breakfast and warm and friendly people. My only one small niggle was the.usic in the breakfast room was way too loud. Would definitely go back and would imagine under a non covid situation it would be even more nice to visit. 10 out of 10. Well done.

We booked lunch with two grandchildren during Summer, arrived, greeted, santized etc, offered table, which was fine. Except, the tables in the dining room were VERY close together, zero distancing, we feel that the venue were making up for lost revenue, but simply placing customers at risk. Nice public house, but at present, they need to maintain respect for safety .

Dear Gail Thank you for leaving us your valued feed back, We do appreciate all your comments! Myself and the team have followed all the government guides in respect to the COVID pandemic and can absolutely assure you that all our tables have been placed a minimum (many ae actually more) of 1 meter apart I would also like to point out that we have had no reported cases of COVID, nor have we been contacted by local council or via the NHS app with any COVID closures or any risk issues We have also been complimented on many occasions about how safe our guests feel, so I do apologise if you feel that we have not done enough to keep you safe on this occasion! Kind regards Philippa

A really helpful and friendly young man greeted me at checking in. Quite and efficient. QR rage and sanitizer station available in entrance- great to see significant measure put in place . Booked me for dinner and breakfast. Room mostly clean and very tidy well presented- you certainly wouldn’t be disappointed. The toilet is a little stained but overall not too bad - had worse in a 4* yesterday in Edinburgh. Dinner was pleasant and the menu okay. Very limited food choices if you are lactose intolerant/ gluten and no meat but thAt is Marston’s that need to get with the times a little more. That being said a decent salad and my partner really enjoyed his meal. Clean instructions re: c-19 which is great. I’d stay here again and it’s a good stop off with children if you have them.

Whoever the Lady with short hair and tattoos is on the welcome desk needs a short sharp lesson in customer service. Her attitude is appalling. Enough said. I know were in a pandemic and we need to be carefull, but if thats the way they treat customers the deserve to go bust. Rude unhelpful and comes across like we owe them a favour for letting us in. Oh and the beer was flat
