I have stayed here a few times before. As always the hotel itself is clean and comfortable. On this occasion, I arrived after 8pm and my room was absolutely freezing, reception provided me with a heater but unfortunately due to health issues the heater was not enough. Liz was very kind, patient and professional and she arranged for me to be moved to a room with a built in wall heater, she even helped me move my bags etc. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she was very understanding. I did not eat in the bar on this visit, but breakfast was lovely and out of nowhere Liz came over for a chat to make sure I was ok and to check if I had a pleasant night. Hotels can be very lonely when you travel on your own but with the personal approach I was provided on this visit , I will definitely be staying again.

I have stayed at this particular hotel on many occasions whilst visiting my partner and up until now I could only say good things about it but on this occasion I have to put a negative comment. My partner and I stayed Saturday night (2/12) and were woken up at 1 am by the fire alarm going off. We tried going back to sleep but 15-20 minutes later were woken by the alarm going off for a second time. This may seem trivial and could be excused had it not been for the fact we’d stayed two weeks prior (18-19 nov) and were woken by the fire alarm going off at 6am 4 times!!! In November we were told it was a guest leaving the bathroom door open whilst having a shower but when I went to talk to the night staff on this occasion they didn’t seem to know why it had gone off and that the fault had been reported and assured me it wouldn’t go off again, which it didn’t. My concern is that if the alarm is faulty and it seems that it goes off on a regular basis as I’ve read on another persons review a few days after my partner and I stayed in November it went off on a week day, that how will they know if it’s a real fire that has set it off or the faulty alarm playing up, potentially putting peoples lives at risk. I had a 3 1/2 hour drive back south to do after having a broken nights sleep. Not acceptable.

I would like to take the opportunity of thanking you for your much valued feedback in relation to your recent experience with us. It was very upsetting to read your comments as it appears we have failed to meet the very high standards of service and care which we have set ourselves. I was extremely disappointed to read your comments relating to the alarms being raised and that this is not the first time. I can assure you I will be investigating this incident personally and action will be taken where it is necessary, as customer safety is something we are passionate about here at the hotel and will not faulter on. If you would like to contact me direct I would be happy to discuss further, once again my sincere apologies Kind regards

This hotel offers excellent value . The front has been tidied since my last visit and looks a whole lot better. The staff are kind and accommodating The rooms are a tad on the small side , but well presented clean and relaxing. The bathrooms are very modern and new with excellent water pressure and temperature. The gym is excellent as always. Breakfast is acceptable. I also like the fact you can open the windows and not just rely on air con that the hotel does not have, fresh air so much better The staff really make this place as it is now an independent hotel I hope it does not get bought by a chain and lose its identity.

Ella and Aggy are the best. Very lovely people Came for Halloween and they made it super spooky and fun. Downside they got rid of the Budweiser and Corona product which are my favourite. Beds are big enough and showers work well. Good stay in a convenient locations and one of the top accomodations in the area

Thank you for your wonderful comments following your recent stay with us. Our hotel is ideally located for leisure and business travellers alike with quick and easy access to the M6 motorway network linking guests to Lancashire and the surrounding areas. It is always great to hear that the likes of Ella and Aggie go above and beyond to ensure that your stay with us was a fun and pleasant one, albeit I was also a little disappointed to hear about the Budweiser and Corona not being available, rest assured we will look at this and get these back on our product list for the future. Once again thank you for your comments and we look forward to welcoming you back.

Incredible! This review will not do the staff or hotel justice, we booked this hotel two years ago as our wedding venue, and a couple of weeks ago we had our special day! Paul the manager and Liz the operations manager could not have done more for us, they helped us with all our concerns and worries on the lead up to the big day and on the day itself made sure that it was perfect, the hotel was spotless, the Canberra suite is beautiful! I think a lot of people drive past and feel it’s just a hotel but you need to venture in and see that it’s so much more, we had the best day ever and the staff, rooms and facilities are all amazing! I will break it down to make this review more helpful. The staff- this section won’t take long, in one word they are out of this world, always smiling and laughing but still remaining completely professional. The decor- All the inside of the hotel has had a complete remodel and looks amazing, I believe they are also in the process of doing the outside but it already looks great! The rooms- Our hotel room was spotless, had a mini fridge and safe as well as tea and coffee facilities, the couch and bed very comfy Food- WOW! The chef here needs to take a bow, our wedding guests could not stop approaching us and saying how amazing the food was, the canapés, sit down meal and breakfast the morning after were exceptionally good! The Canberra Suite- this room is beautiful! Really is a perfect room to say I do, we saw pictures of it done up for a wedding but nothing prepared us for how gorgeous the day itself would be. Parking- this is always a question on trip advisor but with this hotel it’s not a problem, there is plenty of parking outside reception and even more to the side and round the back! If i had to mark this hotel I’d have to say it’s a 12/10! We had the best day of our lives and could not be more grateful to all the staff at the Samlesbury! If you are getting married I strongly recommend nipping in and meeting the team, you won’t regret it! We will be returning for food in the very near future and have already agreed to stay here again.

My experience was and is the best local hotel. I will stay here always. I have tried many but none to this standard. Rooms excellent and ambience downstairs always enjoyable. Ella helped me with any small matters whatever they have been. I commend her assistance with my staying here. Thanks to everyone for a comfortable stay. It feels like home.

I don't normally write reviews, but on this particular time I felt it was warranted. I arrived in the car park and was not overjoyed at the outside of the hotel but once inside I was very surprised. I was welcomed by the charming Liz who checked me in and gave me lots of information about the hotel and the surrounding area. Once in my room I found it to be pretty standard but served the purpose. I was meeting friends for a meal in the bar area. I had seen a couple of staff around but sadly no one was actually on the bar. Liz from Reception appeared as if sensing I needed a drink and served me at the bar. Once our food was ordered, the restaurant started to fill up more than it had and had a good atmosphere. The younger staff didn't seem to know what they were doing and I noticed Liz give them direction, she was also carrying food out, serving the bar and was backwards and forwards to reception. My friend wanted a pint but it had ran out and no surprises as to who was called to go and change the barrel. Is there nothing she can't do? At breakfast the girl that was clearing tables we found to be rude, unhelpful and we were told that the hotel did not offer the option of fried eggs. Overall this did not impact our stay and I would recommend the hotel to other colleagues. As I said I do not normally write reviews but I just felt that it needed to be said that Liz is an absolute credit to your establishment and maybe some of the other staff could learn from her. I would stay again.

Thank you for your complimentary review on Trip Advisor following your recent stay with us. I was pleased to read your comments about the facilities, however I was even more delighted to read your comments about Liz. I am fortunate to have some very natural, attentive, and genuinely charming staff who love what they do and who are very proud to work for the hotel. Please be assured I will be sharing your comments with Liz and the team as it will assist the younger staff members in their development. Many thanks once again for your feedback and I look forward to welcoming you back to The Samlesbury Hotel.
