A popular locals pub (with accommodation as I understand it) just off the "main drag" through Rhayader. Friendly staff and a good pint of Doom Bar. We sat in a cozy corner and saw Arsenal take the lead (before going on to win 4-1 at Sunderland). I also picked a 10-1 winner while studying the form guide over my beer....

Stopped here in the pouring rain for food. Great choice. Food was hot, tasty and plentiful! The Staff were very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the bar area and enjoyed the friendly banter between the locals. If your travelling in this area we highly recommend that you drop in for a look at the menu.

Food was all homemade - I would recommend the Welsh Rarebit and the chips are real chips! We also had the chicken, bacon and mayo sandwich which was packed full and real onion rings. Inside was comfortable and roomy and very clean. Easy to find and parking available.

We went to the Lamb and Flag on one of the busiest nights outside of December...during the Wales quarterfinal Euro16 match. The pub was heaving with people but...the bar staff looked after us by coming to ask if we wanted more drinks and bringing them to our table even though the bar was so busy. They were kind, attentive and...

Well firstly they served my two favourite ales, Sharpe's Doonbar and Wadworth's 6X! The menu was great, the food hot, generous, tasty, and beautifully presented on different styled plates. The atmosphere was relaxing, the staff welcoming and chatty. Just a great lunchtime experience. Try it yourself, you won't be disappointed.

Lovely stay, friendly staff, couldn't do enough for us! Only the Saturday night, but a nice friendly atmosphere, and staff were very friendly and efficient! Lovely Sunday roast, and a bargain price, even tho Phil gap recently taken it over, seems like he's been there forever. Will definitely stay there again

Having stayed here many many times we were very disappointed. The previous manager had left. And a new manager was there instead. It was the Saturday evening and after a day out exploring we were looking forward to dining. The pub was not busy by any means ,but we were told it would be 1/2 an hour. Fair enough.... an...

We had stayed at the Lamb & Flag last summer when we visited the beautiful Elan Valley area and found it to be a friendly pub with good beer and food. The accommodation was simple but very clean. So, as we were passing through Rhayader last week, we decided to pop in, this time for lunch. We weren't disappointed, receiving...
