Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have stayed in The Angel regularly over 15 or so years and always enjoy the stay. This was my first stay since the extensive redecoration throughout and refurbishment of the bedrooms and surrounding area. It is even more comfortable than before. As always, the staff were welcoming and enthusiastic in their work. Excellent meal with a friend in the restaurant, excellent beer and delicious breakfasts. Looking forward to me next visit.

Just moved to Halesworth, tried the White Hart which was excellent, thought I would give the angel a try for food. Never again. We both ordered liver and bacon, then as my husband departed the bar he heard them say that's last liver. When it came up they obviously split one portion into two as there was a tiny sliver of liver and non existent bacon so mainly mash, carrots and cabbage. Then a guest at table opposite that ordered before us had his come up and our split portion put together was still less than his liver portion Seriously just say we'd run out, not undeliver, who in the kitchen thought that would be acceptable

Can't be more complementary. From the warm welcome, cleanliness of rooms, amazing food and great atmosphere. A great place to stay highlight for me was the wonderful cooked to order breakfast - nothing too much trouble and a great start to the day

We visited the Angel Hotel today for lunch despite being midweek it was very busy despite this we were given a table in the restaurant (dogs are allowed in the bar areas ) our waitress’s Katie & Amelia gave us the warmest welcome despite being busy nothing was too much trouble they both had the most lovely smiles (obviously very happy in their work) The Menu was either Italian or traditional English prices are very reasonable excellent value our lunch was superb as were the beer & wine portions were generous we were tempted by the desert menu but were quite full then noticed we could have a half portion with coffee which was a perfect solution We are already looking forward to our next visit I really can’t recommend this restaurant enough

Regular visitor never had a bad experience, which says it all. Good service from friendly staff, trusting them with big family event coming up and sure they won't let me down. Bar food and lovely Italian Restaurant out back, good choice of drinks, being an Adnams pub they serve my favourite beer.

It's the only place to sip an ale in Halesworth. It's got a nice little snug bar round the back where you can enjoy a well served pint of Adnams Ghost Ship. Nice sense of history to the place too. I've not eaten or stayed here, but I can only imagine it's done to the same high standards

Just back from another overnight stay at The Angel Hotel. Every now and then we treat ourselves to this and include a meal in Cleone’s the restaurant within the hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean with comfortable beds and pillows. We had a drink in the bar before enjoying a really delicious meal. Says a lot for this place that it was busy midweek and this adds to the atmosphere. Breakfast was great as usual with plenty of choice and quality ingredients. I have nothing but praise for this excellent hotel and I’m already looking forward to our next visit.

I stayed at The Angel for one night for business and I would most definitely stay there again! The people were absolutely lovely. It is clearly a cherished asset to the town, as there were lots of locals giving the place a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff could not do enough - we even struggled to find me a taxi for the morning, so one of the chiefs offered to drive me to where I needed to go. The food was homemade and very good. The room was large and very comfortable. I highly recommend!!!

Had a 1 night stopover one weekend at the Angel in order to attend a friend's birthday function in town. Our room was very pleasant and quiet although some can be near to the bar area. Had a good sleep and a super full English on the Sunday morning. Ample parking on site for guests and worth the effort to stay here if in the town. Would definitely stay again soon. Cannot comment on the evening meals as we were dining out. Staff and receptionist were all very helpful and attentive. Thank you for our stay. Mr and Mrs Flower - Norwich
