Detailed Reviews
We recently returned from a fantastic week spent at School Farm Cottages. We normally go overseas but didn’t feel comfortable doing that this year and we really did feel we had a great break. The cottages are lovely and this really was a fantastic place to stay with kids. It was great to be able to open the doors to a gated back garden with swings, Gerry the rabbit and chickens. It felt very safe and Claire and David were so welcoming and helpful – on the first day, David put up a toddler swing so our 2 year old could enjoy the swings too. Lots of fun was had collecting the eggs from the chicken coop, visiting the horses and walking around the local area spotting rabbits, other wildlife and farm animals (including some local Alpacas). As well as being a fantastic, tranquil setting, with lovely walks and bike rides, it is a great spot for visiting local areas. Whilst there we went to Thorpeness (including renting a rowing boat on Thorpeness Meare), had a lovely walk along the beach to Aldeburgh, crabbing at Walberswick, swam at Southwold beach, fish and chips at Mrs Ts in Southwold harbour and a great morning was spent at the maize maze near Southwold ( both our 2 and 12 year old loved it there!). Claire and David had a really thorough cleaning process in place and I felt very comfortable that they were taking the safety of guests really seriously – having stayed a week we could see how carefully they ensured the cottages and shared spaces were cleaned and that they high standards in place.
We had a really fantastic break and can’t wait to book another visit – we would absolutely recommend a holiday here!

This year was our third year at school farm cottages, although this time around there are changes due to Covid, we still had a lovely break. Although the games room was closed, we was told if we wanted the table tennis table outside we could, sadly we didn’t get to use this due to weather, however we made good use of the football field and did some good fishing. There are sanitiser bottles at the entrance of the cottages and inside, extra measures are in place but this helps towards peace of mind, i feel more comfortable knowing they are in place. The owners are lovely, always welcoming and very helpful and accommodating. Another lovely break here, Max our 7yr old loves the freedom he has due to the large outdoor areas. Highly recommend School Farm cottages.

We have just returned from a lovely week at School Farm Cottages, where we shared three cottages with children and grandchildren. The cottages felt very covid-safe due to intensive cleaning, and David and Claire were very friendly and helpful with any requests we had. Lovely quiet rural location, with large secure garden which the grandchildren made lots of use of. Lovely big table outside Silverleys Cottage, which we all ate round each evening (we were extremely fortunate with the weather!) Cottages were comfortable and well-equipped, and we would definitely return if we chose to have another large family holiday again.

After lockdown, it was wonderful to spend another relaxing stay in this lovely area. The owners and housekeepers have undertaken Covid-19 training and have the “We’re Good to Go” certificate so we knew that it would be extra clean, which it was. These measures were very reassuring.
Many tourist attractions have reopened and there is plenty to see and do. Whatever may be going on in the world, you can be sure of a warm welcome and a safe, enjoyable holiday on the farm.

Thank you for your positive review. It is good to have reopened our doors again and be welcoming guests back to School Farm again. We have done the training and have received both the Visit Britain 'We're Good to Go' and the AA Covid Confident accreditation showing that we have all the necessary measures in place and are doing everything we can to make sure that everyone is kept safe and can still have a lovely relaxing break. We are pleased that you had an enjoyable and relaxing time.

We stayed at School Farm Cottages for three nights in October and had an absolutely amazing time - the beautifully decorated cottages are clean, cosy and well equipped, and the farm itself is stunning. The games room (with pool table, table tennis and table football) was great fun and also had lots of very useful information about the surrounding area. There is lots to do for all ages, with chickens, a football pitch and fishing lakes all right on the doorstep. We really enjoyed exploring the local pubs, Framlingham Castle and the coast at Southwold - so much to do in such a lovely part of the country. Claire and David were such wonderful hosts and made us feel so welcome - can’t wait to come back soon!

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review of your stay. Glad you made the most of the games room which is always popular with our guests, and visited some of the lovely places nearby. +1
Would highly recommend, we had three cottages, North, Silverleys and Swan for a week over half term our group aged from 9 to 70+ and all had a fantastic time. The cottages are very clean and comfortable, in fact the beds were more comfortable than our own at home and the furniture bedding etc of high quality. We were able to get fresh eggs daily and the younger children enjoyed visiting Jerry the rabbit. The back gardens are secure with play equipment suitable for toddlers and young children. The games room was a big hit with all and again the equipment was of a high standard and in good working order, we had a few table tennis and pool tournaments during our stay which was great fun. The playing fields are flat and perfect for ball games with football posts at either end, we enjoyed a game of rounders and cricket with a lovely backdrop of the church. We enjoyed a few cycle rides along quiet roads to surrounding villages and drives to the coast nearby Southwold and Walberswick. Claire and David are very welcoming and friendly checking everything and helping us immediately with any problems. We would love to come back for another holiday.

We have just had a four night midweek break at School Farm Cottages - our second visit, I only wish we had returned sooner. We had a very relaxing few days in a beautiful, comfortable well equipped cottage. We felt very safe, the cottage was very clean, and the area is so quiet, yet not far from many different places to visit. We will certainly be returning again. We have been looking for a Suffolk base as we intend to visit more often, and we think we have found the right place at School Farm. David and Claire are so friendly and welcoming too, which makes a real difference to a holiday.

We have just returned from a four night stay at School Farm Cottages. We stayed in Swan Cottage which was scrupulously clean and made us feel very safe. The cottage was well equipped with very comfy single beds, spacious lounge, more than adequate kitchen...in fact everything we needed. We received a very warm welcome and could easily have contacted the owners during our stay should we have needed to do so.
There looked to be lots of interesting country walks to be taken in the vicinity although we were not blessed with the best of weather to do this during our stay.
We would definitely return to School Farm Cottages on a return visit to Suffolk.

What a shame that the weather wasn't the best when you stayed with us recently, but I'm pleased you were still able to enjoy your stay. It is good to know you felt reassured that we have done all we can to keep everyone safe. Guest feedback is always important to us and perhaps more so at this time when things are a little more uncertain. We would be pleased to welcome you back to School Farm if you ever decide to come back to Suffolk.

We stayed in one of the lovely cottages and also hired the meeting room for a family event. The cottage was lovely and welcoming, and the beds were very comfy! The meeting room was a perfect space to hire for the event and we were easily able to provide a buffet meal using a local caterer. The trestle tables and chairs were all easily accessible and gave us plenty of eating space. The grounds are beautiful and quaint and made the perfect setting overall. Claire and David were more than helpful and are such lovely people to deal with. A huge thank you for allowing us to have such a lovely weekend.

We stayed in Bell cottage for 5 nights. The property is well located in the Suffolk countrydie allowing easy access to Southwold, Dunwich and Ordord and all places between. The cottage is well equipped and spotlessly clean. The grounds are also wonderful, there is something for everyone, relaxed seating areas (or beer garden in my case!), play areas, football pitch, games room, and fishing ponds. There are also animals in the grounds with the hens providing fresh eggs for breakfast. Claire and David are also extremely helpful. Will be back!

It's good to hear that you enjoyed your stay and would like to return! We are a family run business and it's great to hear you appreciated the facilities we provide here. We are very fortunate to live in a quiet spot in the countryside but within easy reach of the coast. We hope that you will come and stay with us again and explore some more of the picturesque villages and market towns in the area.
