The wilderness lodge was our favorite stay during our 3 week honeymoon. Michael was such a treat and was first class service all the way. The lodge is tucked away and co located with a sheep farm. It's clean, beautifully decorated, and well maintained. We had a mountain view room and went for a long hike on a trail suggested...

We stayed for one night at Wilderness Lodge in January and wished that we had booked for more nights. We had the most wonderful time and met some very interesting people. The food was extremely good and the walking trails were excellent. Would certainly go back again if we ever visit New Zealand in the future.

Have stayed & been to Wilderness Lodge several times now. And it is always the same. A great location ,really friendly staff & good food ! It is more than accommodation in a nice location,it is set amongst a high country working farm & in NZ native forest. You can be taken on a guided forest or farm walk or...

Stayed at both Gerry and Anne's lodges this trip. Smaller and more rustic than the Wilderness Lodge. Their daughter Claire manages this lodge and their son Michael does the nature walks. Both work hard to make your stay memorable. Stayed in one of the upper level rooms which has a beautiful view of the mountains. The room is a good...

This absolutely terrific eco lodge is gorgeously situated and offers endless hikes, visits to the nearby sheep farm, and spectacular food! Michael and his staff are just top rate. They could not be more helpful. For those of you who have visited the Post Ranch in Big Sur - think Post Ranch New Zealand style. Stunning rooms. Absolutely worth the...

We stayed 2 nights at this spectacular lodge. The views are breathtaking as well as most interesting terrain around the lodge to explore. Michael & Allen were extremely gifted guides. Meals were exceptional as well. Thank you for a wonderful change from our hectic schedule.

We just returned from 2 weeks in New Zealand and this wonderful lodge was the highlight! The rooms were delightfully comfortable, relaxing and the views outstanding! The meals were excellent, including the picnic lunches for day trips...especially yvonne's homemade trail bars. You can choose between Lodge guided hikes and activities such as evening star gazing, sheep dog demonstrations, kayaking, and...

Booked one night just the day before as a bit of a treat after 2 weeks in a camper van. Delightful building and location with stunning scenery. Made immediately welcome by Rachel and Michael. Just time for tea before heading off to watch Neil put his sheep dogs through their paces, introduce us to some of his flock and then...

Next to this Wilderness is a working Sheep Farm, the Farmer does 90 minute "Ask me Anything" tours twice a week which are awesome. Yvonne is charming, making you feel welcome and pampered. Allan and Nicky are excellent trail guides. The scenery is almost magical. The food was very good. The rooms were very comfortable. We enjoyed hiking, bicycling, and...

My husband and I went to South Island NZ to celebrate our 30th anniversary and decided to indulge ourselves by staying at both of the Wilderness Lodges for their special 3 nights offer. Both places were worth every penny and our stays there were the highlights of our fantastic NZ adventure! We were at Arthur's Pass at the beginning of...
