Had the pleasure of staying a night at the Aoraki Court Motel while visiting Mt Cook for the first time. The hosts were fantastic and very generous. Gave us great advice on what to visit around the area and when, be warned the Hooker Valley walk gets very busy as the day goes

It was a lovely day as we turned off State Highway 8 towards Mt Cook Village. We’d taken some wonderful photos at the viewing point and were looking forward to seeing Mt Cook. By the time we got there it was beginning to rain and within an hour it was torrential. So, after

Hi jill5302016 Welcome to the mountains, weather changes all the time. You should be here when it is really bad, not a few drops of rain.... Everyone should stay 2-3 days as when the weather is great there is so much too do.. cheers

We were in room 23 which was large, had cooking area, spotlessly clean and had beautiful views. The view was uninterrupted and close to where you can take flights, helicopter rides up to the Glacier. Highly recommend

Amazing views from the property.
Morning view of Mt Sefton, reflected on the dining room table!
Yes, there is a reception building where you check in where you could wait. I also suggest you contact the motel about where the bus actually picks up. It may be at a different place.

Everything in the village is in walking distance. You will be able to walk to the hotels.. Our favorite was the Chamois Bar and Grill just up the hill from the Aoraki Court Motel where we stayed for two nights before driving to Queenstown. The Chamois food is okay, but the view looking out to Mt Cook is sensational! Get a table early so you can have a view at the front.
