My husband and I were very fortunate to have the opportunity to stay overnight at Baslow Hall, experience the Michelin Starred food and enjoy the lovely well kept gardens. We arrived at 2.30 and was warmly greeted and shown to our room overlooking the gardens. The weather was beautiful so we sat in the garden with a drink and enjoyed...

Baslow Hall is a beautiful property in a good location If visiting Derbyshire. The gardens are fantastic, and my highlight - breakfast was fabulous. Normally this would command 5 stars, however the rates raise expectations to perfection, which it doesn't quite achieve. It is pleasant, nice, relaxing, the food is excellent, however all together it didn't reach the levels I...

Having booked for dinner we were ushered into a rather tightly packed, reception room for aperitifs and canapés by staff who were clearly going through the motions of being welcoming, without our feeling there was any genuine pleasure on their part at us eating in their establishment. We had difficulty in selecting from the menu as the choice was limited...

We visited with my sister-in-law who had chosen this hotel wanting to visit nearby Chatsworth. From when we had booked earlier in the year and right throughout our stay the staff could not have done anymore to help us. Nothing was too much trouble. Our rooms were even better than we expected, beautifully decorated and with excellent lighting. The bathrooms...

Lovers of fine wining and dining will already be aware that Fischers is the stand out country house hotel in Derbyshire. Spending two nights there I wholeheartedly agree. The Michelin starred cuisine is an obvious highlight - our package gave us a complimentary upgrade on one of the nights to the "Taste of Britain" tasting menu that showcases the excellence...

Exceptional Kitchen Table Experience. We had the most superb dinner here last week, the tasting menu with wine pairing and it did not disappoint. I would even say it was possibly one of the best meals I have ever been lucky enough to taste. I would put Fischer’s right up there with any of the top London Michelin restaurants I...

Me and my girlfriend aren't regular fine diners, although we try and visit a Michelin star restaurant for each other's birthday. When booking the restaurant initially the lady was lovely with me and very welcoming and the staff were very welcoming upon our arrival. The food was great and as you would expect from such a quality restaurant and my...

We stayed at Baslow with our 2 children aged a year and 7 years old. We had got married here 11 years ago! Room: spacious Haddon room overlooking front gardens. Comfortable Sleigh style bed. Shower over bath. Free chocolates. Dinner: Excellent. The tasting menu is a must have dining choice. All courses unique, exciting flavours with some hints of fusion...

Luckily we picked a beautiful day to stay here and from arrival we were made extremely welcome. Staff are super friendly and professional, room was gorgeous and food was exquisite. We stayed on a special package which included room, evening meal and breakfast and it was excellent value for money and I think this may be a regular occurrence as...

We spent only one night here & we were charmed by the hotel's quaint ambience, stunning decor (Jacobean-style Arts & Crafts), wonderful staff & fabulous food. Our room, Vernon, was large, comfortable & sun-filled, with a distant view of Chatsworth House & its Hunting Tower (although these views will no doubt disappear once the trees are in leaf). Dinner was...
