Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was AMAZING. I didn’t want to leave! My friends had to pull me by the legs to get me onto the plane. The drinks are so gorgeous, beds are so good for cheeky times ;) The staff are so lovely. BEST HOLIDAY EVER.

Te resort of Las Laganas has some really beautiful beaches, but also nightlife. Unfortunately the rooms are not well insulated, so it happened 1 or 2 evenings in which drunk kids were in the corridor causing chaos... There are 2 rather crowded swimming pools, we used them just a little, because the beach is much more beautiful and because after a certain time they become a little dirty. I found the food good, maybe the meat and fish were not of high quality, but I have never eaten them because I am a vegetarian. Friendly staff, especially the boy with the pigtail. I would have honestly given 3 stars, but I was really disappointed because, on the last evening, one of my silver ring and 50 euros of my mother disappeared. We are absolutely sure that they were in the room, they were not even in sight. I immediately went to the reception and one of the staff asked me if I was really sure that I hadn't spent the money... but why would I make a fool of myself if I wasn't sure? The ring didn't have much economic value, but it had sentimental value, it belonged to my grandmother... in short, we couldn't resolve anything. No one could have entered through the window because we found it closed and we were on the first floor. Nobody except the cleaning ladies. The room has always remained really dirty, the towels were removed without changing them or not changed at all. Since I read that I'm not the first to have had the same problem, it would be necessary to do something, or you really risk losing customers. My mom wanted to come back next year, which obviously we won't do.

Will never go back to this hotel again. Rooms are not like in the photo, had to ask for clean towels you then got a dirty look from the cleaner, that’s if you can call them cleaners all they did was mop the floor in our room and made the beds. They did not clean the bathroom once in the week we was there. The beds are hard and found it hard to sleep on. The food was awful if you like chicken every nite you are ok. The waiting staff are so miserable when you ask for something they walk away. The morning manager was lovely could not help you enough. But the hotel manager had one big attitude. There are dogs & cats all over the place and do there business anywhere. There was always a long queue for the bar at the pool side and only one person behind it. There was only one nite of entrainment so had to go to the bars outside of the hotel. The shower was dirty and the water had no where to go which made me fall and hurt myself. The little man in the shop was lovely always ready to help. We had no air con as they wanted 70.00 euros for the week so we had to sleep with the doors open.

I don't understand the bad reviews,we stayed at the Alexander the Great from the 10th -21st of Sept had a lovely room which was cleaned daily with sheets changed at least 3 times if you put the towels in bath they were changed as often as you wanted. Found all the staff to be friendly & very good at their jobs, the food was very nice and the drinks were fine, never had trouble finding a sun lounger & the pools were beautiful. Hotel was in a good area near shops places to eat and 10 mins from the lovely beach. All in all we had a good holiday and would definitely stay again very good value for the price we paid.

Had a lovely ten days here. Staff really helpful and cheerful. Although many people were complaining about the food we loved it. Nice mix of English and Greek, something for everyone. Coffee was gorgeous, some problems with milk running out and not enough cups but staff did their best uncomplainingly to get more. Bathroom basic and flooded easily and became really slippy. Two pools, we preferred the quiet one by the dining room, some wear and tear but clean. Our rooms weren’t always cleaned but we asked for new bedding and towels and got them no problem. Some horrible guests though always complaining, loud and drunk. Staff dealt with them quickly and quietly. I would definitely stay again but I can imagine in the party season it would be very loud.

We had a lovely room on the garden room floor overlooking the swimming pool. It was lovely and comfy. Room was cleaned daily and if towels hadn't been changed we asked the maid if she could give us clean ones, which she did willingly. Reception staff were friendly and helpful . We had no problems getting more than 1 drink at a time at pool bar. Yes there was sometimes a queue but so what? Wait in line or come back later. Bar snacks were tasty. Food was ok Typical AI that you find at hotels world over. Sometimes it was lukewarm but if you timed it right fresh trays piping hot were brought out. A microwave was on hand if you wanted to heat your food up. Beach was about a 10 minute walk away. Supermarkets bars restaurants on door step. Bus stop at top of road . Hire places plentiful to decide who gave you the best deal. We did a jeep safari which was fun and a good day out. Walked in the evenings down the strip without being hassled by people trying to drag you in for a drink (Maybe because we are an older couple) A nice hotel and well placed for everything within walking distance

Not long back from Hotel Alexander the Great and looking to book again for next year !! Don't belive all the bad reviews about this hotel, you get what you pay for and if you treat the staff with respect then they will respect you. Stayed for 21 nights and over this period met plenty of lovely people of all ages. Everyone was so friendly at this hotel. The room we had had a great view of the mountains and was kept clean and well stocked by Alba our maid who did a great job - Thanks x . The bar staff were great and very friendly, cheers Andrew ( Calvin), Thomas and Dennis, you made our stay fun. Also, big shout out to Dennis on reception, nothing was too much trouble and even when he was busy he always had a smile on his face, a great guy. The food and drink was plentifull and cannot see what others are complaing about. The pools were clean and we used them every day. The owners dogs live at the hotel and were always with their owner, otherwise you didn't see them. Lastly, a mention to Snoopy the dog and the ginger Tom cat !! Thanks, Steve, Barry & Willy

This hotel is excellent with really friendly staff. The rooms are cleaned daily the Manager is really good and kind . The food is mostly excellent with a good choice. The beach is right next to this hotel and the beach bar is good also. Amenities are close with bus stop outside or staff can get you a quick taxi with reasonable prices . We love this hotel and all the staff here. Would recommend.

Staff are very miserable most things are an effort for them to do, food is basic and the same most nights. Pool doesn’t get cleaned the other is out of use n smells. Pool side bar has big ques n one small drink at a time. The owner works there and is often on a power trip talking down too staff and customers. Not a good vibe. Don’t recommend won’t be staying there again!
