We spent 3 nights in a chalet at Thaba Monate. Maybe at some point in time the chalets could have been regarded as luxury as advertised, but it is clear that some serious renovations are needed in order to bring these places up to standard let alone luxury. R1600 a night was not good value! The furniture, beds etc all...

Our stands were nice and large and we were shown to them immediately on arrival. We had partial shade. Did see staff assisting folk to erect tents though we didn't use this service. The ablution blocks were always clean and the cleaning ladies very friendly and helpful. Shortage of toilet paper every morning but soon rectified and understandable as peak...

We used to love this place and utilised the camping grounds often but unfortunately we won't be back. The heated pool is no longer heated, the tennis courts are in a major state of disrepair as is the min golf. Ablutions are still good but the campsites haven't been mowed and keep up to standard. We also found the staff...

Thank you so much for excelent hospitality. We are really sad to go home. Everybody went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. We have got a child with special needs and everybody went out of their way to make it possible for him to participate in activities. We will definitely come back.

The chalets needs desperate upgrading. The interior is disgusting, and the bedding is very old and not clean, it smells like old sweat. I think when Thabo Monate was build 40 years ago, it was a very nice place to stay, but since then nothing was done to make it market related. If the management are not going to give...

Looking forward to a nice bush break, Thaba Monate was a disappointment. Although the rules strictly state no noise, some revellers spent the entire evening screaming and shouting. Complaints to management had no effect, so the atmosphere was ruined. Game drives were reasonable, but the roads in poor condition and badly marked. Chalets were clean and in good condition, but...

Nice Chalets, bit old but clean, needs a revamp. Nice for a weekend with no TV and no Radio , just relax. The roads are in bad shape, but that was due to the rain. Lots of dust on the roads that is driveable. Swimming pool was very dirty. No game drives, also due to the bad roads.

“If you travel in a group. Ask to be booked at the camp sites that are not occupied. They tend to fill one camp site first and move the rest to the next. That is if you want to be free to enjoy till early hours of the morning”
