We are a quintessential 16th Century Coaching Inn in the beautiful countryside of Warwickshire. We are on the Fosse Way which is the gateway to the Cotswolds approx. 3 miles outside of Shipston-on-Stour. We offer a comfortable restaurant where we’ll be offering a Breakfast, Lunch and À La Carté menu, with an additional bar menu too. Our rooms are beautifully appointed all with an en-suite bathroom, whilst offering beautiful village outlooks or stunning views across the Cotswold countryside. There is free Wi-Fi for all guests and a comfortable bar area where our locals gather for a well-kept ale or a tasty Gin and Tonic, in front of the beautiful fireplace and cosy log burner.

From entry to exit we were made to feel welcome.
We arrived earlier than we said in our booking but it wasn’t a problem, our room was ready. We were taken up the quirky staircase, with low ceilings and even lower door frames, the character of the building spoke for itself, old and charming. We were shown to a double room to the front of the hotel, it is on a main road so with the window open there was some road noise but nothing that disrupted us. The room was an adequate size with hanging space, tv, ensuite shower, hairdryer, team and coffee making facilities, fabulous fluffy white towels and spotlessly clean.
We already had dinner plans so didn’t have an evening meal but did sit after returning we sat in the bar for some drinks. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, so comfortable, in all the places we’ve stayed this is by far the best bed we’ve slept in ( I actually asked where the mattress was brought from because I want one!!). Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and the coffee was freshly brewed.
Tip-top stay and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending to anyone asking.

I stayed here with a friend for one night in their accessible room as I have mobility issues. It was a large room with plenty of room to move around, definitely large enough for a wheelchair user, the bathroom was enormous with handrails a plenty and a low level mirror - rarely seen in accessible rooms!
We had Sunday lunch which was delicious and the breakfast the day of our departure was equally delicious.
The tiny drawback was the cobbles at the entrance but I appreciate this is an old building and not everything is possible. The couple who run it could not have been more helpful. Definitely recommend.

We booked at the Halford Bridge Inn as we were attending a family wedding in Shipston on Stour, and it was within easy reach with free parking. We stayed in the family room with two really comfortable double beds, a big bathroom, and a view across the courtyard. The room was lovely, clean, and really well presented. The facilities were excellent with soft towels and tea and coffee in the room. A great night's sleep was followed by a top-notch full English breakfast! Thank you for a lovely night, it helped make the wedding weekend very special! If you are looking for a really good base to explore the area, give the Halford Bridge Inn a whirl!

The plus points first: it's a lovely old building, and the restaurant was beautifully decorated. The food was also very good, and the breakfast exceptional.
...but - there are quite a few "buts". The food in the restaurant was very good but spoilt by erratic service. On the first night everything was spot on, on the second night the waitress (different from the previous night) brought starter and main course at the same time for one of us and nothing for the other. The most basic training should stop that from happening.
The excellent breakfast was also spoilt because they only started serving it at 9 am on weekdays - allegedly because the same chef cooks both breakfast and evening meals.
The restaurant is very attractive but our bedroom was, to put it mildly, bleak. Bare walls with no pictures, and not even bedside lights. If you wanted to get up during the night you had to switch on the four arm chandelier. The bathroom was new and really very comfortable for the second floor of an old building, but didn't separate hot and cold taps go out of fashion a few decades ago?
This all pales into insignificance with the shock we had when we returned after a day visiting family, and found that the bedroom had not been serviced. Beds were unmade, waste bin not emptied, neither toiletries nor the coffee/tea tray refilled. This is not what you expect when you pay GBP190 per night! The person we spoke to had a variety of excuses - Covid, they're such a small business that they can't afford the staff, they are not a hotel but a B & B etc. If that's the case, they should charge B & B prices. Service was provided on the next day after we complained, but that's too little too late.

We recently stayed here whilst we were guests at a wedding not far away. Our hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcome as soon as we walked into the bar area.

We were given a room on the top floor that was stunning. The floors and stairs were quite uneven on the way up and down to our room but that added to the whole charm. The room was beautifully decorated and very cosy. If you do need to take a taxi to anywhere, of an evening, please book one in advance as they are few and far between.

We had the full English breakfast in the morning before we left, it was just what we needed 😊The whole experience was lovely and we’d definitely return if we needed to stay in the area.

You have to remember when thinking of booking that this is a 16th century coaching inn so is close to the road. There is ample parking on site. The owners, Ninder and Runj are exceptional hosts and went out of their way to make us feel at "home" without being overbearing. They are undertaking the task of renovating what was a somewhat run down brewery owned pub with taste, with the building being listed this is not an easy task but the couple have put their heart and soul into it. As a result our room was well appointed, of good size, comfy bed and good shower with Egyptian cotton towels. The bar area was clean and bright with a good range of beers etc and large inglenook fire. There is a separate dining area which looked impressive but not tried. The menu, although not extensive, gave us two really good value for money meals as did the full-english breakfast the following morning.

Its a lovely countryside hotel, bar and restaurant. There are a lot of tripping hazards, from uneven cobbles in the foyer to uneven floors upstairs in the hotel. This is because it's a 16th century coach Inn that has been renovated. The rooms are spacious and comfy. The double rooms have king sized beds in. The shower stalls are tiny. I had to contort my body to get in so some people of a larger build would not get in there at all. The rooms have tea, coffee, hot chocolate as well as the condiments to accompany them together with bottled water and biscuits. Once used up, further supplies could be requested. As the hotel is next to a road there is a lot of road noise, despite that double glazing has been installed and there are only blinds at the window which still let in a lot of light. Fortunately as I always travel with ear plugs and sleep mask these didn't bother me too much. There is no air-conditioning but each room has a stand fan to help with the hot weather.

They offer a variety of hot breakfasts as well as cereals, muesli, juice, tea and coffee. The cost is very reasonable at just £12 for a full breakfast and £7 50 for continental. Breakfast can be booked for the duration of the stay or on a day by day basis.

Stayed at this inn with family, firstly we were welcomed by the friendly staff who promptly checked us in with no issues. We had a dinner and Sunday lunch reservations booked and have to stay it was the best meal we’ve ever eaten!! Picture to follow below.

The owners of the inn were so friendly and talked to us all night in the bar area which was so cosy with a fire and lovely atmosphere.

The restaurant area also had a cosy dining area.

We stayed the night here in the family suite on the top floor, the beds were incredibly comfy with a lovely view and no sounds of traffic passing by.

We will definitely be returning!!

Having passed The Halford Bridge Inn for over 40 years en route to visit my parents we finally had occasion to meet my father half way in November for a birthday Sunday lunch. It was exactly what we were after!

We had a very warm but not overbearing welcome from the staff and the dining arrangements in the bar and restaurant were all comfortably set up in a wonderfully historic building. The Sunday lunch was really tasty with perfectly cooked beef and lamb with an excellent selection of nicely cooked vegetables (the cauliflower cheese was a particular hit). It was well worth going out for and didn’t break the bank.

My father and I have subsequently met today for Friday lunch and again had a most delicious light bite - steak sarnie for him and salmon and leek fish cake for me. Both served on a fresh and perfectly dressed mixed leaf and tomato salad. Yummy. I really recommend this as a stop off point if driving along the Fosse Way but it is definitely a destination in itself too.

Of particular note are the really lovely staff - friendly without being obsequious, welcoming without being overbearing. A very nice place indeed!

What a gem- we stayed here with our 1 year old baby boy and had the most superb weekend.

The accommodation is beautiful, immaculately clean and very high quality. Room very quiet so we slept like logs! The food is absolutely delicious and all fresh ingredients. I had the veggie breakfast, and my partner had the full English and we both said it was the best we have had, and we have stayed away a lot!

The hosts Ninda and Raj cannot do enough for you, they are down to earth whilst being so professional and friendly. Made us feel very welcome and at home. I was a bit worried about being in a hotel due to covid risks but the hotel was immaculate and you felt very safe.

The location is perfect for exploring the area, we headed into Broadway and Stratford. Next time we will venture into other areas too and see more of the stunning cotswolds.

We will be re booking very soon and bringing our parents with us for a 2 night stay, so happy we have found The Halford Bridge Inn! Thank you!

As far as I know. We had an ensuite, and I would expect the other rooms had too. It was a a couple of steps down to the ensuite which might be a worry for elderly people in the night.(I am elderly, and Icoped fine)
