I have stayed here three times over the past six months for family visits and a funeral. I called form the United States to get reservations and it could not have been easier. I have stayed In both the rooms that are part of the Pub and the separate rooms behind the building. Most recently we booked two of the...

We stayed here for one night during a family visit. The room was lovely and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly warm, friendly and helpful and the pub itself looked great. I am sure we will be back!

After a bit of last minute Xmas shopping we were in need of a sit down and a bite to eat. The Richard Onslow was a welcome stop off point. Friendly, fun atmosphere, lovely food and reasonable. We were just visiting, but if we were to visit again we would certainly pop in again.

Room 8 is probably the worst room I have ever stayed in. It is certainly the worst room at the Richard Onslow. The entrance to the room is down a dingy corridor. Inside yes there is an enormous bathroom for disabled people, although how you get a wheelchair down the side of the bed I don't know, the room was...

I've stayed at The Richard Onslow on several occasions. Whilst the building is attractively vintage, their rooms are modern, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The location, at the heart of Cranleigh village, is extremely convenient specially because hotel guests are provided with secure off street parking. It's a lively pub with friendly, helpful staff and the restaurant is great and...

Great pub/restaurant/hotel. We met another couple there for pre-match drinks, quick change then a meal in the restaurant which was great. Stayed over night and had breakfast. All excellent although I can't remember what we ate so can't recommend a particular dish, but will definitely return.

Very friendly staff and lovely old pub. We stayed in Room 1 which had all amenities but was very quirky and individual. Needed to duck a bit when going to the bathroom, and I'm only 5'4"!! Didn't eat dinner in the restaurant as we were at friends for the evening but we did manage a drink in the pub bar...

We really enjoyed this hotel so much that we would have loved to stay longer (we tried but unfortunately was fully booked). The room was spacious and had the atmosphere we were in a little holiday flat. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious, and staff more than helpful, efficient, friendly but very professional. Breakfast was included but slightly disappointing, not...

The Richard Onslow has a very good location in the center of the very nice little village of Cranleigh. It has a friendly staff, nice rooms, a good variety of beers and ales - and last, but not least - great food!

Without this place, Cranleigh would be a bit of a dive. Sadly there are no other decent drinking establishments in Cranleigh but thankfully we have the Onslow. Friendly staff with a burning fire. Nice. A variety of places to sit and drink.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We have ten lovely en suite bedrooms with all the little comforts you’d find at home. Each one’s newly refurbished, and simply but stylishly decorated in keeping with the pub’s age, making the most of original fireplaces, ancient beams & low doorways. Some rooms overlook the hustle and bustle of the high street, others have a view over our sunny patio hidden away at the back of the pub. We have doubles with king-size beds, twins and family rooms. There’s even a box room if you just want somewhere cosy to hole up for the night, plus a fully accessible double room on the ground floor. All of them have really comfy beds, great linen, power showers and lovely toiletries, as well as mod cons like flat-screen TV with Freeview, free WiFi and tea & coffee-making equipment. ... more   less
