We stayed between September 16-30th as everyone else at this time we were with Thomas Cook but this made no difference to our stay and it was business as usual from all the owners and staff, an absolute credit to them all. The hotel is in a great quiet location a short walk to the beach and the strip. Staff are really helpful, rooms are clean and tidy, food within the Hotel is great as is the entertainment.
We stayed at Denny’s Inn for a last minute holiday 4th September until the 18th September 2021 and had a cracking time. As the airport was only 5 mins away we didn’t bother with the jet2 arranged coach transfer and hopped in one of the airport taxis that cost €13. We checked in about 20.30 and there was no queue, we were given a free coupon to redeem an ouzo shot. Denny Jr. checked us in and ran through all the bumf. We were allocated the room just above reception and it was very commodious and spatial. There were plenty of mirrors and sockets and we were provided an iron and ironing board upon request. Bedlinen and towels were changed very few days. As we booked the holiday via jet2 the fridge and air con weren’t provided as standard and were charged at an additional rate. We didn’t feel like we needed these 2 amenities so didn’t bother. We were initially due to stay for 11 nights but managed to extend our stay for 14 nights. Once we changed our flights with jet2 we booked an additional 3 nights with the hotel themselves which cost an additional £120. With booking these 3 additional nights direct with the hotel the air con and fridge were provided free as standard. Also included was the late check out option which came in very handy as we had a late night flight. About a week into the holiday we were finding the hot water was cutting out when we were having a shower. We reported this to reception and were given the option to change rooms, which we did. Good luck with getting a sunbed. We are early risers as we go for an early morning jog and we found that all of the sunbeds round the pool had been claimed. If anyone from the hotel is reading this you need to introduce a no reservation sunbed policy. Most of the sunbeds had been claimed but no one was using them. We ended up going down the beach and using Yanis’s sunbeds (€8 for 2 x sunbeds and an umbrella). Due to covid the breakfast situation wasn’t ideal. The breakfast area is very compact and the set up when we were there was you had to queue and tell the team what breakfast items you wanted. They would then plate them up for you. You then had to stand in another separate queue if you wanted a coffee. Anna’s shop is just a short walk from the hotel and the beach is about 5 mins walk. The walk onto the main strip was about 10 mins. They was 1 dodgy weather day when we were there and walked to Cameo Island and into Laganas. We also did the ship wreck excursion which cost €20. There were 3 clinics on the main strip to get the return lateral flow test back to England. We used the Iassis medical Clinic which was just over the road from the rose and crown pub, it was €25 an you didn’t need an appointment . Overall we had a pleasant stay, the only grumblings were the sunbed situation and the breakfast situation. All the staff are lovely and friendly, thank you for a lovely holiday.…
This year was our third back to Denny's, and we'll see you again next year. The staff are lovely, welcoming us each year like family. There is a very laid back atmosphere around Denny's, but that did not get in the way of the staff being very professional around the Covid rules and adherence to them. We both felt very safe at all times in and around the hotel, there was hand sanitizer stations readily available and always full, masks worn by staff all the time (even in the 30degree heat) and the decision to close the public toilets in reception and downstairs although a slight inconvenience, I believe was a sensible one. The food at all times of the day is lovely, breakfast has enough choice to keep most happy, with lots of cold options and a variety of hot options daily. The restaurant serves a lovely full English or Cooked breakfast options from 10am if you miss breakfast and all are at great prices. The menu available offers a wide range of food, all of which that we tried was lovely. Considering that Denny's have just had 3 disastrous seasons, starting by the awful affects of Thomas Cook collapsing in 2019 and followed by 2 Covid years, they truly have done amazing and I hope they continue to do so for a long time to come as we'll be back for definite. We look forward to seeing you all again next year. Yammas!…
Unlike most holidays I return to Denny’s Inn and have been for many years, it’s the perfect place to relax, enjoy good food, really recharge the batteries, the main reason for coming back is the wonderful family who own & run it, you are made to feel so welcome and after many years we feel like family. We have been in groups and as a couple and we now have friends who also have been several times. Nothing is too much trouble, all the people who work at Denny’s are fabulous and helpful, would highly recommend this Hotel, you won’t regret it.
Arrived at hotel to no wait at reception easy check in very polite . We had a room that I suspect is one of the non refurbished ones that smelt a little musty at first but that faded quickly . Very small balcony only really suitable to dry towel but not big issue Air con rattled but didn’t bother complaining as it just needed a quick adjustment of vent and it stopped until next use Bathroom was fine no issues but on returning I notice on pictures how nice the refurb ones are in comparison now feel bit second class It was very clear that the hotel get huge amount of returning customers who either know what room to ask for or who are given the better refurbed rooms. Not really a complaint, I’d do same if was my hotel Saying that even the old beds were probably best I’ve had in Greece and pillows definitely the best . Local charge for fridge and aircon is standard so no issue . Sun beds maybe time of year but available all day and very comfy with mattress and pillow plenty umbrellas . Pool just to cold to enjoy but again late in season so no one’s fault , but warm enough to jump in to cool down for 5 mins , some brave people managed to be in there for half hour so up to you We only had breakfast in pool side restaurant and it was very nice well cooked Full English ,toast , juice , tea/ coffee €5.50 wow The breakfast provide by Hotel was also good selection but compromised by covid laws As were all public WC shut Again not hotels fault All in a great hotel in on great island All staff friendly . I go on holiday to get away from busy job and don’t attempt to chat to people much just like to switch off . But clearly lots of people made great friends with both staff and other customers Would be 5 stars probably if we had better room ,warmer pool And the covid related issues Would definitely stay again and recommend Thanks to all the staff who worked so hard…
