Wow the hotel whispers have a great stay. The unintrusive staff are so very helpful and friendly but respect your down time. The hotel rooms are spacious and well equipped and you are a few minutes walk to the bars, restaurants, shops and beach. Some wonderful walks on your doorstep. Spiros bar in the hotel is lovely at night 🌙

Amazing hotel, everything immaculately clean, the pool area is top quality and the staff are very very friendly and helpful. Spiro, his family and staff can’t help you enough. The location is around 10 minutes walk to the beach and about 3 minutes to the local bars, clubs and restaurants.

This hotel is the best hotel I’ve stayed in in kalamaki, the food is lovely the barman who does cocktails is incredible at making them the staff are extremely friendly and love a little chat. The pool area is extremely modern and I’m glad a hotel has made the effort to look after their place and give it an update and it definitely attracted me to this hotel. Rooms are lovely and clean also very comfy beds and provided with a robe and fresh towels & sheets everyday without fail. We were welcomed with open arms by all staff as if we were family with them going above and beyond every time we walked past. Everyone here is Amazing especially Maria, rosa & spiros the others were all great unfortunately I did just not catch their names. Cannot recommend this enough, do not make the mistake of going anywhere else.

Just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel and we loved it - I don’t think I’ve stayed anywhere with such lovely friendly staff - the cleaners especially are amazing and very efficient we had clean towels every day and our room was always left looking lovely - breakfast selection was soooo good and made even better by having a toaster that actually toasted the first time round and you don’t have to stand there repeating the process just to get a slight crisp on the bread :) - the pool area was kept immaculate and plenty of loungers an parasol’s - the hotel is only a few minutes stroll to the main strip where you will find plenty of bars & restaurants an little shops - you can walk along the beach into Laganna or a taxi is roughly €12 - Zante is a little more busier with a lovely port to wander round an see the boats - we visited bochali village which is just above Zante an went to the castle which is pretty much just ruins now but the views are stunning so well worth a visit - I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Venus again should we return to Zakynthos :D

We have just returned from our third stay this year after staying in June and September. We have been returning guests for many years now and each time we return reinforces why we choose to stay at the Venus, it really has everything we look for in a holiday. The new pool and surrounding areas are great and the sun loungers so comfortable. As always it’s extremely clean and tidy. The breakfast room is so light and airy with a large range of food to choose from and good coffee, an essential for me. We don’t eat breakfast everyday but when we did we enjoyed it. Other days we ate lunch from the snack bar menu. Again, a good selection from a simple toastie to something more substantial. My favourites were the toasties, scrambled eggs, omelettes and a shared club sandwich. The bar area at night has a lovely atmosphere and we always had drinks there late in the evening. We had 3 different rooms this year and each one was comfortable and sparkling clean. Love the walk in showers and of course those very comfortable beds. On our last visit we were in a suite which was lovely with a huge walk in shower and a comfortable lounge area. The outside decking area was good as we like to be outside when its warm and October was certainly nice and warm even late at night and early in the morning. Last but certainly not least the stars of this hotel are the staff, always smiling, happy to help and keeping everywhere clean and tidy. Each and everyone of them work so very hard to make sure all guests are well looked after. I shall miss the cheery kalimera as staff arrived to start their day while I sat on the deck with my early morning coffee. Its been a while since we stayed in October and what a perfect week it was. The hotel was quieter this late in the season so it was nice to sit, chat and just relax. We really found it hard to leave and wished we had booked the final week of the season too.

Visited this hotel for the first time but it won't be the last. This is the friendliest hotel I have stayed in. From being greeted by name on arrival to hugs from staff as we left the whole experience made us feel like we were at home. The food breakfast and lunchtime snacks were really lovely and the drinks selection at the bar was really good with a great cocktail menu. Staff were really knowledgeable about the available food and drinks. The whole hotel was nipping clean with new towels daily, and comfortable beds. Always quiet after midnight. Special mention should be made to the newly done pool area where I spent much of my time, beautifully done and no 6am towel run required as plenty of beds and umbrellas. Thanks guys we can't wait to come back asap.

Stayed here for 2 weeks in August on a recommendation from friends, wish we hadn't bothered. PROS Comfy beds Clean rooms ( our cleaner was a lovely old dear) Mythos on draught CONS Awful food, breakfast was dire, wasps helping themselves to scrambled eggs, the fruit juices were disgusting, food at lunch time bland and bang average. Only allowed 1 room key Miserable staff, in particular the old guy who runs reception at night, try smiling Mr! Pool nowhere near big enough for the amount of guests, their is another pool which is adults only but should be renamed "wasps only" as it was covered in them. By the time you got them out they were back so pool was unswimmable. Staff allowing parents to let their kids swim naked, couldn't quite believe it really! No atmosphere whatsoever, very dull hotel which needs a serious overhaul in smiley happy faces from it's staff. Extremely disappointed.

Response from Venus Team, Εξυπηρέτηση πελατών/Υποδοχή at Hotel Venus & Suites
Responded 8 Oct 2023
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review and for your kind comments regarding that our hotel has comfortable beds, our Rooms are clean whom your Cleaner was lovely…SMILEY and we have Mythos on Draught. Also please send our regards to your friends for recommending us to you! Regarding our Breakfast and Snack Bar we are using the highest quality ingredients and we never had any issues with our guests! Our Breakfast consists of greek creamy pie, bacon omelette, stuffed ham & cheese toast, Greek Village sausage, eggs with tomato sauce, cheese pie, spinach pie, greek homemade rusks, greek yogurt, hash browns, boiled eggs, french toast, scrambled eggs, ,mushroom omelette, sausage, fried eggs, hand made cake, desserts, cookies, pancakes, four different choices of fruits, jams, raisins, nutella, honey, croissants and many more! About the wasps, as you noticed we are in the NATURE! We are not allowed by the law to use any chemicals because it will vanish all the precious Honey Bees. Regarding your issue about the second key card, by the Greek law and the fire department for health and safety reasons everything must be turned off when you leave from your room. Our night receptionist is not miserable, he is very friendly, he is working very hard every night till 7 o’clock in the morning and he is doing a great job following the Venus guidelines. About kids swimming naked it is not in the Venus policy and it is not allowed! When it happened our staff didn’t see it during the rush time at the bar, it got mentioned to us, we found the family and never happened again. Our new renovated main swimming pool, whom you never noticed, can accommodate up to 100 guests, 100 sunbeds where they are more than enough! According to your words our pool it is not that small and it is following the Government’s guidelines. Overall our hotel is considered to be a friendly family hotel and all the staff are always happy and always willing to do the best for you in order to have the best relaxing holidays as possible! They work really really hard and we should all honor them for what they do. Thank you for the positive comments regarding our hotel and we would be gratefull if you came to us during your 2 weeks and told us your complaints in order to provide to you the best holidays as possible. We hope if you ever visit Zakynthos again you would be consider staying with us once more!

Arrived about 9 on a Saturday evening for 2 weeks, paid the tourist tax and safe hire - a bit steep for a 4 star hotel since we had stayed at the Bitzaro Grande during May and fridge, aircon and safe were all included. Shown to our room on the ground floor - amazing although we did have our own garden with sunbeds. Breakfast was provided and this was very good with plenty of choice - often meant only a light lunch was required. There are 2 pools and we selected the adults only pool when it was available. Could not fault the hotel for anything although we found the food options at lunch not as good as a few years ago when we had stayed here (2010 to 2015) although the village pizza was superb. Thanks to Aris at the bar for his service. Drinks were reasonable at 7 - 7.5 Euros for a Mythos and Amstel free (no alcohol) and we had an evening cocktail before bed. Top class room cleaning service with fresh towels every day.Enjoyed eating out at Pandesia, Sizzle N Grill, Ellie's place and Corner 45 - amazing value here and Stowford Press cider for 4 Euros, as well as a walk to Stani's - best Beef Stifado in Kalamaki by far. On departure we had a late flight and were able to have a late checkout room for 40 Euros - a bit steep but it meant we really enjoyed the last day of our holidays. However the room we had was far from a deluxe double that is promoted - I am afraid that if this was the room we had to stay in for our 2 week holiday then we would have asked to be moved, the shower leaked onto the bathroom floor and there was not sufficient storage space as well as little room around the bed. Overall this was one of the best holidays we have ever had anywhere - on par with the Hilton Dalaman and Reef Oasis in Sharm el Sheikh however if the room choice is limited to that which we had on the last day we would not return.

We arrived to the Venus early and was able to check in 4 hours before the scheduled check in which was lovely. The receptionist was lovely and answered all questions we had. The room we have is just perfect, spacious and the shower is just to die for! The balcony looks over the sea and the bed is possibly the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Also the aircon keeps the room so cool. The whole place is spotless and would defo come again next year! 10/10 would recommend! Your within a 1 minute walk to the main strip and 10 minute walk to the beach. Just perfect.
