We have just got back from two weeks at the Origin. Excellent location, no more than five minutes to the beach and resort, where there are loads of lovely restaurants and bars. Rooms are basic but a good size. We had a one bedroomed apartment with two balconies (twin beds in one room, single in the other). There was a fridge, a kettle and basic cutlery/crockery. The bathroom was tiny but luckily we aren't big people. This was the only room that wasn't the cleanest - lots of hairs clogging the drain when we arrived and often a strong bad egg smell when the water was run. You have to pay more for safe hire and air conditioning. We managed most of our first week without it but paid for one unit for the second week (there was one in each room). We didn't use the pool as we prefer the beach but there were always lots of people around it. The beach is lovely but sunbeds cost €5 each, although some of the restaurants offered a slight discount if you ate with them. We spent most of the time at the Faros beach restaurant and were often not charged at all due to having lunch there most days. The Origin bar is open 24/7! There is karaoke every night from 10.00 and, although it could get noisy, the doors are shut at 12.30, so it didn't affect the rooms. There is no pressure to eat or drink at the hotel. We ate out every night and only drank in the bar 4 or 5 nights but the staff were always more than friendly as we walked back through on the way to our room. Prices have definitely gone up and we spent around €150 a day on food, drink etc, compared to around €100 on previous holidays to Greece. Beers were around €4.50 cocktails from €6-8, meal for three, with drinks averaged around €65. Overall, we had a really great holiday and absolutely loved Kardemena.

I definitely reccomend the Origin! Room only with a kettle and fridge but spacious apartments, nice pool area, good food served 9am-3pm, 24hr bar and the staff make it!! The loveliest staff I've experienced in a hotel, they will go above and beyond for you. We all have different likes etc and they catered for all of us. Some of us didn't fancy the bar every evening and we were never made feel unwelcome when passing thru the bar to the room at night, always greeted with a smile and asked how we are doing.. the hotel is a 5 minute walk from almost everything in Kardamena.. it is just a perfect place to stay. The 24hr bar isn't an issue as they shut all doors at 12.30am and we couldn't hear any of the noise and we were directly above the bar. Aircon and safe around €16 per night, wifi from bar is free and reaches some rooms, not sure on price of hotel wifi, €30 to keep your room on later than 11am on your last day, subject to availability.
I just want to again, thank the staff for their hospitality and care during our stay. We will for sure be back to this wonderful hotel!

Honestly had THE BEST time at Origin and will definitely be going back either this year or next year.
This was my first ever solo trip (28 year old female) and I felt safe both in Kardemena and in Origin Hotel.
Beach is a few minute walk away, 2 supermarkets few minute walk away, tonnes of restaurants and bars few minute walk away.
All the staff looked after me and were so kind and cheerful, they really made my experience 10x better; so much so, that in future I will endeavour to only stay in smaller, family feel hotels.
The hotel has a down to earth feel, my room was newly refurbished and clean upon arrival, I paid for aircon which was so efficient I only needed to blast it for 10 mins at a time, my soap dispenser was empty on arrival but when I told the manager it was filled immediately with an apology. The pool area is nice and relatively private, always clean and tidy. The bar area is open and so so friendly.
Honestly couldn't have had a better time in Kardemena and that's mostly thanks to the sunshine and the staff at Origin 😊.
When reading the bad reviews I honestly can not believe that these people came to the same place?! I personally can not recommend this hotel enough 😊.

Booked hotel after reading reviews. That was a mistake. We had also seen that some rooms suffered from noise, We emailed a request for rooms that where away from the bar, When we arrived we had been allocated a room above the bar and also the so called penthouse room for our daughter. The room above the bar was large but they play music through the night to 5am/6am and the loud music comes through the ceiling off the bar and sleep is virtually impossible, The Penthouse room is old ,the smell on the way up to it is of sewage, The water constantly stops in the room, also the door cannot be locked from the inside, This was reported however the response was you can lock the door which is on the way up to the room and we will repair in the morning, After 12 nights we are still waiting for the door lock to be sorted and not willing to lock the door on the way up to the penthouse as this would be a risk if there was an emergency such as a fire. When asking to be moved from the room above the bar we where given the answer that it would be looked at when they had time but would be a few days, and we would be better off flying home or moving hotel at our cost. Everything is an extra in the hotel .Wi-Fi is poor in the rooms so be advised not to pay for this. Breakfast was poor quality ,often cold and and the cups for hot drinks are dirty.Pool area is small .If you get a room away from above the bar(not the so called penthouse as that is not fit to be used)then it may be an ok place to stay as location is good but it is not worth the risk of ending up in one off the rooms above the bar. If you want to cook in the room then this is impossible as you have a fridge and a kettle only. We have stayed in many hotels across Greece and this is by far the worst experience we have had. Also please get a safe and put everything of value into it as we had money and Trip tickets go missing. Didn't report as we knew what the response would be. Cleaning is poor.The resort is very good and we made the most of it however it deserves better hotels then this.

This hotel is the complete RyanAir experience of hotels in Kardamena, and I would say ‘avoid’ for anyone looking to stay. Literally everything is chargeable is this hotel, from the Wi-Fi, to the A/C, to safes in the room, to even the simple things like soap for washing your hands after using the loo! And don’t think of bringing your own fans, food or drink back to the hotel. There are signs all over the hotel emblazoned in red capitals stating you’re not allowed to bring/use your own fans, cunningly next to signs that basically say “but if you pay us a premium, we’ll allow you to use OUR fans/air conditioning”.
This hotel does not hide the fact that it’s a budget hotel/self catering, but I brought a sandwich back once and was literally told “to get out of the premises” by an angry staff worker. This could have been handled much better/more politely.
As for the cleanliness of the rooms, I wouldn’t say they were that great to be honest. The only sign I ever had that a cleaner had been in my room was that my bedding was drawn back up to the pillow each day (but not fully made). It didn’t ever look like anything had been mopped or wiped down. The rooms also suffered from smelly drains too, so the bathroom would very occasionally smell like sewage. And don’t expect to have a morning shower unless you like cold showers; I was told by the aforementioned staff worker earlier in my stay to have a shower in the afternoon or evening so “the sun had chance to heat the water tanks on the roof”! Towels are also meant to get changed once a week, but mine never got changed throughout my stay.
Lastly, if you plan on getting some kip before midnight think again. There is a karaoke bar downstairs, and the noise from music and proverbial swinging of cats travel up the stairwell to the hotel’s apartments.
I’m very unlikely to ever want to stay at this hotel again (could you tell!?), and would not be sorry if this place got shut down tomorrow…

In the room there wasn't any kind of soap or shower gel . The use of the air-condition was "with extra charge" just like the very kind man informed me . Anyway , for one thing I'm sure in this life , and that is that i will never recommend to anyone that place to stay .

Stayed here for 4 nights with family , had two rooms which both were two bedrooms , the rooms were light and spacious , second floor and no lift !they are tastefully decorated. The pool was one level but clean as were the loungers. The staff were nice and helpful , however beware , the rooms have separate air conditioning in each bedroom , which cost €8 a day per room , which for me was over the top , €16 per day for one apartment ? Sorry but that’s terrible . They are also locked and have to be unlocked when you pay ! I was given into trouble Cos the kids brought in juice from outside on their return from a trip as you are only allowed to drink and eat what you buy in the premise ! Maybe you should put customers happiness before profit !

The Origin Hotel is very nice and you are at the beach in 5 minutes from there. The people that work there are very lovely and friendly! :) The pool is cold but that it perfect in the hot summer. Our apartment was also very nice and hat a balcony which was a bit small but we were either way most of the time outside our apartment :) I can only recommend the Origin Hotel if you visit Kardamena🌟 The only thing that we didn’t expected was that you have to pay extra for Wi-fi and for using the Gym but the prices were totally fine :)

I'm really not sure where these bad reviews and they really annoyed me. so please don't listen to them. In my 30 years of coming to Kardamena, I have to say that I have never had an issue coming to Origin, Yes you pay extra for air conditioning and also late check out, but that's pretty standard in Greece, I certainly wouldn't abuse this and waste air conditioning for no reason. what you don't actually pay for is the second to non customer service you get when you are there. Kostas and Marcos cannot do enough for you, together with the bar staff, the place is amazing. Kostas has actually offered to pick me up from the airport on occasion. Always welcoming when you arrive, whatever time that is. These apartment are above a bar, yes, but if you mention you want a quiet room, they will accommodate you at the back of the complex which is quieter. These apartments are right in the centre close to the supermarkets, beach and nightlife and is within walking distance of the bus stops that can take you round the island. Don't let a few bad reviews put you off, unfortunately, you cannot please everyone. 5 stars plus for me, just for the service

We cannot praise Markos, Kostas and Maria enough! They are all so friendly and always happy to help with recommending somewhere good to eat traditional Greek food, helping us to pick up some of the language and genuinely wanting you to enjoy your holiday. We stayed in one of the new Superior Apartments which was lovely, own little bit of space at the front where we sat and watched the world go by with a drink (or several!!). Maria's breakfast is to die for as you can see in the picture and sets you up for the whole day. The pool is gorgeous and lovely and clean. I honestly cannot recommend this place enough if you want a relaxing holiday - we are hoping to come back for a third visit next year!! Keep up the good work guys, can't wait until the next time!
