I stayed for 4 nights as I needed a central base for my friends wedding. I was travelling solo and found the Nissia Kamares perfect as was in a great location, clean, safe, very very pretty with lovely staff.

The rest of the wedding party were staying in big hotel complexes but I wanted something more personal and authentic and I could not recommend this hotel enough.

The room was large with everything I needed, air con, WiFi, water, tea, coffee, kettle, fridge etc and had a large balcony with table and chairs. I was in an apartment that hadn’t been upgraded but it was perfectly clean and didn’t effect my stay.

The breakfast and snack food were lovely. Breakfast was full of choice, fruits, continental, home made jams, honey, yoghurts, hot food including bacon, sausages and eggs, tea coffee, juices, fresh breads etc. just lovely.

The snack menu was varied and very reasonable.

The pool area was clean, pretty and always enough sunbeds, umbrellas etc

The staff helped me with local taxis and anything else I needed like an iron for the wedding outfit I was wearing.

I will most definitely return (as many do from the conversations I was having with other guests).

Thank you for making me welcome and will return with family and friends next time !

We have just returned from a week here and had a brilliant time, and a perfect place to stay in Kardamena. We are a family of 3 including our 11 month old baby.

The location is perfect - less than 10 mins transfer via taxi in the airport (€15-18), and a few mins walk either to the harbour, beach or supermarket.

The room was exactly what we needed with a small kitchenette and plenty of space for clothes/bags. We also had a patio outside which was in the shade but nevertheless a nice spot for lunch. There was also a highchair in our room which was a great touch and was so useful. The air con is free but we didn’t need to use it much because the weather didn’t get too hot while we were there, however when we did switch it on it didn’t make the room super cool. This was fine for me but in the height of summer we probably would have asked this to be looked at.

Breakfast was lovely (with a highchair available for the baby) and there were plenty of drink options at the bar (as others have said, George makes amazing cocktails!). We didn’t eat lunch there because the options were a bit limited for vegetarians so this could be improved a little.

Worth noting the teas and coffees in your room aren’t topped up each day so you’re expected to either bring or buy your own. I found this a bit disappointing as it’s something I would expect.

Overall we had a fantastic time and would 100% stay at Nissia Kamares again if we were visiting Kardamena. A big shout out to Alex who went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay.

Me and my family were there for two weeks and enjoyed every bit of the Nissia Kamares way of life! The owners & staff treat you like friends, from the moment you enter the premises.
The rooms are cleaned on a daily basis, they are practical and nicely decorated. The large pool has enough sunshades and umbrellas for all. Breakfast is fresh and individually served (due to covid-19). You can either have it seating in the tables next to the pool, or you can pick it up yourself to enjoy in the privacy of your balcony.
The location is excellent, as you can reach the center of Kardamena and the beach in 100m, at the same time you have immediate access to the main road leading to all the nice villages and beaches of Kos. The airport is just a 15minutes drive away.
We would definitely stay there again!

Myself and my husband visited Kos for the first time in October with our 6 month old and 23 month old. We really didn’t know the island at all and I eventually settled on this hotel just because the reviews were all so good and the proximity to the airport was appealing with the children. It’s a 15 euro taxi from the airport. I had originally found it on booking.com but on closer inspection it was actually cheaper to book directly with the hotel and we had no problems doing this at all.

After we booked we realised that Kardamena was known as the ‘lively’ part of Kos. I was really worried about what it would be like with the kids but I didn’t need to be. The hotel is amazing, it’s was perfect for our family. Very quiet and we felt totally safe the whole time. We booked an apartment which was great for our family of 4. They provided a comfortable high chair and bed rail on the sofa bed for my toddler as well as a cot for the baby - all at no extra cost. This place is so much more than your average apartment because you have apartment facilities but the added bonus of the room being cleaned everyday. The cleaners were superb. On the odd occasion when we would leave a dirty glass in the sink she would wash it. She folded my kids pyjamas and left them on the bed after making it every day. Completely above and beyond what I would expect from a daily clean.

Every staff member was so friendly and extremely accommodating. Nothing was ever a problem for anyone. You are a 5 minute walk to the beach and restaurants. The pool area is fantastic - plenty of shaded and sunny areas. Umbrellas at every sun lounger and no need to go down early and reserve a space. Our children most days had the whole pool area to themselves. There were also kids toys and games which was really welcomed and a nice gesture.

Great selection at breakfast. Probably the best we’ve ever had included with a booking, with lots of homemade things. The cocktails were amazing and actually we often just preferred to come back to the hotel and have one rather than go anywhere else. I could see that the bar men genuinely used homemade purées and syrups. Not your average on holiday sickly cocktails.

I never normally would leave a review but this place was so perfect that I felt like we needed to. I can see why so many people return back to this hotel year after year.

Thank you for an amazing week!

This was our second time staying at this beautiful place. Once again we had an excellent holiday at Nissia Kamares,. Our room was spotless with a beautiful balcony where sitting with a nice glass of wine and looking at the well kept gardens was so relaxing. The place is outstanding as are the owners and staff who go totally out of their way to make your holiday special. The pool area and sunbeds again are spotless and our grandchildren loved both the children and adult pools. We have stayed all over Greece including in 5 star hotels and can safely say Nissia beats them all. Already booking for next year. Special mention to Yorgos (George) who has helped make both our stays so incredibly enjoyable.

We've just returned from a week at the Nissia Kamares, our first visit to Kos, we think we picked the ideal hotel. We arrived late Saturday night and we were warmly greeted. The manager showed us around a beautiful ground floor apartment which we accepted. The apartments come with free air-con, free safe, free wi-fi and a couple of bottles of water! The rooms are beautifully furnished, they've obviously devoted a lot of time to the style and design of them. Lovely thick towels and fresh clean linens. Its just like being in a beautiful little village, lot of beautiful flowers and foliage, white washed buildings with shutters, so quaint. The apartments are very well situated, a few minutes walk to the beach, shops and bars but in a quiet area. We had bed and breakfast which was buffet style, everything you could possibly need, laid out very well and spotlessly clean. The pool and area is amazing, plenty of sun loungers and shades, again surrounded by plenty of plants and flowers. The pool bar serves snacks which were very generous portions and tasty. The drinks are very well stocked, priced and were very good, especially the mojitos (thanks George!). Everywhere was very clean and well looked after by the staff and management. I would thoroughly recommend these apartments, we're looking forward to returning. My husband's description of the hotel: warming, welcoming, picturesque.

I booked this lovely place the day before i arrived. I wasn't disappointed , It was like a little paradise. beautifully maintained and authentically Greek. The room i had (103 was on the ground floor with it's own little sun trap of a patio surrounded by pretty blooming shrubs. The room came with Air con included and worked well. It had a 2 ring stove, a toaster, fridge and kettle. Everything you need. There was also a TV that showed english films in the evening, which was welcome for a solo person who didn't always want to go out in the evening, it was welcome company for me :) The staff are all really nice , they have created a really nice atmosphere . There were plenty of beds around the lovely pool, each one having a table and parasol. Mary at the pool bar never stops she is so hard working and pleasant. There is a little shop just at the back entrance that is run by a lovely couple who were always happy and chatty. I had the most perfect stay. The only downside was that i had to leave after 4 night and move to another hotel that i had booked weeks in advance. It wasn't a patch on the Nissai Kamares . I stayed from the 4th to the 8th Sept. i have only just returned from Kardamena and miss it that much i am in the process of booking a cheeky week at the beginning of October. And of course the only place to stay is The Kamares . See you soon Kostas. Room 103 will be fine thanks ;)

Booked a short break to Kos, literally 2 days before with Jet2 Holidays,it was the last couple of weeks of the season and some hotels were already closing, offered Nissia Kamares, really glad I stayed here.
Excellent location, short trip from the airport, situated in a quiet location within Kardamena with beach, shops, bars and restaurants all very close, easy walk.
My apartment was of a decent size, in this pretty complex, air-con, safe, a small amount of coffee/tea/ milk sachets and shower gel were all included. The shower had plenty of hot water though a little snug for us larger guests, though I believe there is gong to be some upgrades for 2024.
I enjoyed the small terrace outside my room, lovely little sun trap in the afternoon.
Clean and tidy pool area, ample sunbeds, food available until 4pm. A special mention to the poolside bar staff,Kreta and Alex, they both were really excellent.Bar open to late with a good selection of drinks.
All the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful, as I had a evening flight, I was able to stay in my room until 6pm(30 euros) which meant I could enjoy my last day.
All in all,a superb break was had, down to in no small means thanks to Nissia Kamares, added to the unseasonably hot weather.
If I return to Kos and after my stay here, it's more likely, I'll know were I'll be staying.

This was our first stay at Nissia Kamares and our first time in Kardamena. The owners Costas and Nasos and staff, Mary on Reception, Alex and George on the bar, and the lovely lady who looked after breakfast were all good fun, very pleasant and friendly whilst remaining professional at all times. The hotel and it's grounds are beautifully kept and the entire place is an oasis of calm and tranquility. What's difficult to put into words is how Nissia Kamares kind of embraces your soul and gives you a feeling of happiness and contentment. What the owners have created is unique, I wish they could bottle the experience, we would buy it in bulk. The bar area is welcoming and the breakfast offering is superb and well worth the extra supplement. We also loved Kardamena, it has a nice, vibrant atmosphere and the eating options are endless, great Restaurants and Tavernas and very reasonable prices, lots of great bars also. Our decision to return next year was an easy one to make but this time instead of going on a package holiday we have booked a superior room direct with the hotel and made a significant saving by doing so. We think Nissia Kamares is the best place to stay in Kardamena and it's position is convenient for all the village has to offer. There are many regular visitors who come year after year which speaks volumes, all lovely people who have become friends simply by holidaying here, we enjoyed chatting with them and look forward to seeing them all again next year. Can't wait.
