We stayed here end June - beginging July 2019 and we loved every minute of it.

The staff were amazing, the hotel was absolutely spot on with cleanliness in the hotel itself, grounds & the rooms. No issues getting sunbeds for us 6, but had to get up early-ish to get 5 sunbeds for view of the small pool for my daughter. The beach area was beautiful, lovely soft sand & crystal clear waters for a paddle with the tiny little fish.

We all loved the food, which at some All Inclusive resorts can be a hit or miss, but couldn't fault any of the food at all in any of the restaurants and that's no mean feat for my fussy eater kids. We all came back a little heavier :)

My kids highlight was the Aqua park, it was brill, they preferred this to the main hotel pools, due to the salt water pools. This for us was a negative, as the kids nor us like salt water pools. myself & my husband also didn't venture in to the main pools due to the salt water. We would not hesitate in coming back if the main + kids pool were changed to Freshwater instead of salt water, as it is off putting.

Kids club location was a negative point for us was the, it was away down at the beach which isn't ideal as we had to sit at the beach bar & stay there when our daughter (7) wanted to go there as if she came out, she could wander anywhere & when you have 2 older boys wanting to be at the arcade same time or water park, it's wasn't ideal, I would suggest the kids club be somewhere in the hotel itself.

Also the Entertainment area & shows and the fact it's a trek out of the complex to up beside the water park. the small 'hut for serving only limited drinks wasn't the best. It may have been better located where the kids club is currently & it's got the pool bar beside it anyway, solving the bar issue. The staff do their best for the shows but it was pretty rubbish and we like a lot of others, headed back to main building after the kids disco to play cards at the main bar terrace or games arcade, which on after a week became boring, so we headed out into Kardamena. There was one great night 2 days before we left & an outside dance troupe came in & set up by the outside pool bar, that was a really good show and much better location.

I would thoroughly recommend this resort, if the points that didn't suit us don't bother you, then you'll have a ball, it's what you make it that counts. If those changes were made, we'd be back here every single year, it is that amazing.

We were allocated a ground floor room with no enclosed balcony and a 3ft drop on 1 end of the patio (unsafe for our 2 year old) so after 2 nights thankfully we were moved to a lovely large family room (901) which was great.

The cleaners do an amazing job, our room was immaculate daily (although I didn't feel we needed clean towels daily as not great for the environment).

The entertainment team were great especially Lee who is a brilliant dancer and also very witty. Our young kids loved the kids disco every night and learning movesto the songs. The bar staff were also great.

Beach is lovely with a great shallow area and nice clear water, just a shame so many patrons smoked and left cigarette butt's in the sand.

Main pool has great atmosphere, music playing, aqua gym daily etc, there's also a baby pool and another quieter pool near to the beach.

Our highlight was the water park which we went to almost every day. Lazy river, splash Park for younger kids and lots of bigger slides for those over 120cm. Great it was included only downside was refreshments were chargeable and service for drinks etc was extremely slow here.

We never had an issue getting sun loungers at beach, water park or main pool (even at 10am!) The grounds were nice and well kept too.

Lovely place for families and great that all amenities were within the hotel.

Food could have more vegetarian or fish options and there wasn't much choice for my child with milk allergy, shame there was so much free ice cream and no dairy free ice pops. The staff within the buffet restaurant were so efficient that they sometimes took our plates too early lol and everything was very clean and organised even during busy times within the restaurant.

We visited the spa and it was incredible! Has a lovely 40 min neck, back and shoulders from Christina, and got an extra 15 minutes head massage at the end! All the staff were lovely! You also get towels in your room that you can change at the spa Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays so next time we won't be bringing our own towels.

The staff were great with all guest whether it be adults or children! The daytime entertainment and evening entertainment in the ampitheatre was amazing and the bar had a great collection of drinks!

Loved the location, warerpark was a lot of fun and the beach was great for water sports! There is also a fish foot treatment centre on site which is very nice!

The food in all 4 restaurants were top notch and had enough variety for even fussy eaters!

The shop on site has everything you could need including a contact lense cleaning set that I needed in the middle of the stay. It also has snacks, Suncream, essentials, clothing and gifts.

The only thing I would have changes is the pool being salt water but got used to it eventually :) recommend using goggles I the pool when playing water polo to avoid salt water in the eyes.

It was my birthday while being here and I got a bottle of wine and fruit delivered to the room :)

There is also a games room that has pool tables, teddy machines, a boxing punch machine, and air hockey along with so other games!

Also the cats around the resort are lovely!

Well it seems we came at a bad time, lack of staff, lack of sun beds, the buffet restaurant is more like feeding time at the zoo ! Mezi mezi restaurant which you book via the app for lunch was disappointing everything had far too much salt on it and the “king prawn” paella type dish was actually just formed prawns that were pressed to shape !

The queue for the pool bar was ridiculous again due to lack of staff and they only gave you cups of water, if you wanted a bottle you had to buy it from the shop and it wasn’t cheap. So if you go into kardemena on the bus but your water in a six pack on your way back to the bus stop from the supermarket.
The Atlantica Portobello beach water park doesn’t form part of your all inclusive so you have to buy any food and drinks from there or go back and forth to the hotel for lunch and take your own water.
Get there early as it’s the same situation as the pool, the later you are the less chance there is of getting a sunbed.
There was an ice cream cart by the pool bar kids could help themselves but for some reason it was moved to the beach bar which was too far for most kids to go on there own and again if you wanted a snack or a drink here the queue was out of the door.

Plus points
We were lucky we had a room in the newly renovated block with very good air con apparently this isn’t the case in all rooms
The Elia restaurant is lovely, quite calm and does lovely food, the service here is better due to it being small and booking only.
Get on the bus to karmedena it’s only 5 mins away and has a lovely row of shops to explore and bars with plenty of places to eat you can jump on the sea down there too so take some spare clothes.
Pool towels are provided you can change these 3 times during your 1 week stay

From the moment we arrived the service from everyone at the front desk was excellent, they were very accommodating as we had to change rooms due to being allocated rooms in the main building on the first floor and my 78 year old mother couldn't have managed the stairs several times a day.

The rooms are immaculate and the cleaners did an amazing job though environmentally bedding and towels don’t need changing every day in my opinion. Hotels I have stayed at in the past have a policy where you leave the towels on the bathroom floor if you want them changed.

There’s a vast variety of food in the main restaurant with lovely helpful hardworking staff plus three other restaurants within the complex which are Greek, Mediterranean and Italian which has to be booked a day in advance and the food is delicious, plus 3 bars with an endless choice of locally sourced cocktails, beer, soft drinks and water.

The waterpark was brilliant. The “saltwater” pool is overly salty, the beach is beautiful with some thrilling water sports and friendly, helpful staff.

Cruises can be booked at reception, we did a 3 Island cruise on a pirate ship to Pserimos, Kalymnos & Plati including lunch sailing from Kos.
The coach journey into Kos took two hours and the ship was over crowded. Lunch was good, the islands are beautiful and the people are friendly but too crowded and rushed for me.

There is a short bus ride to Kardamena where you have a choice of shops, bars and restaurants and we took a cruise on the Agios Konstantinos to Nisyros and a coach up to the Polyvotis volcano which was recommended by lovely Dea. This cruise to Nisyros was a much better pace.

The hotel has an onsite spa and shop which in my opinion were rather pricey.

I would personally like to say a huge heartfelt THANK YOU to these beautiful people for all the hard work they do to keep their guests happy.

George and Irene for keeping us hydrated by the pool.

Tebza and the entrainment staff for the water aerobics classes …. …

Katerina and her team at the Aphrodite Bar…Sara, Melina, Francisca, Dea and Rui Pedro (LOVE you guys).

This was our first time to Kos and it definitely didn’t disappoint!

The pool area was great plenty of sunbeds always a plus!
We spent alot of time at the beach as we have small children the were no rocks, water was pretty shallow and clear.
Again plenty of beds, we used the park area and the beach bar was fantastic for drinks and snacks.
The water park we used twice the kids loved it unfortunately its not all inclusive here but was reasonable enough to buy drinks.
Foot was fantastic, we did use the Italian once which we assumed was Al la carte but was actually still buffet, bit disappointed with that one.
Drinks fantastic cocktail list was impressive compared to other all inclusive hotels iv stayed at.

Kids entertainment was great they enjoyed the mini disco most evenings if they weren’t already in they’re buggy sleeping after a fun packed day!

We caught the bus right outside the hotel down to kardamena a few times for food and drinks, beautiful restaurants and bars along the harbour definitely worth a visit! Only 1.80 euro!

Downsides
Adults entertainment was poor on our last night there was a signer which was great but could of done with some more.
The drinks up in the entertainment area not great! I don’t want to sit in a theatre type of stand with not great drinks bit dangerous for small children up and down the stairs too.
None of the restaurants we’re open only Italian but this could of been because we were early in the season!
Towel lady gets angry if you don’t have your towel card to mark!! Even though i had my room key my band & towels to exchange!
Snacks during the day more variety definitely fir small children even just chips would be great.

However we completely enjoyed our holiday and will be back soon.

Currently staying for 2 weeks at the Porto Bello hotel and wanted to give you my feedback. Positives - the hotel pool and beach are exceptionally clean. The maintenance men really look after the pool and beach, never been to such a clean place! All the staff who work here are so friendly and helpful. They really cannot do enough for you. This includes the cleaners, restaurant staff and entertainment staff who all seem to work every day! The beach party on the 15th of each month was great, I had the best evening. My 4 year old daughter went the kids club a few times and Lee was brilliant with her.
The aerobics in the pool every day is such good fun and my family enjoyed the darts with dezi.
The food is nice and fresh with lots to choose from, however I’m not sure how people would go on if they have allergies?? Every meal is labelled but it does not say if it contains dairy or gluten etc.
The water park is the best I have been to. Currently with a 16, 13 two 9 year olds,a 8 year old and a 4 year old and they all loved it! The slides are brilliant and don’t have big queues.
All inclusive package is great lots available ice cream cookies coffee frappe sandwiches throughout the day if you did not want to go into the restaurant.

Negatives - we are staying in 950 and the room is soooo loud. I sleep with ear plugs in as I am a light sleeper but wow the music from the sister hotel is very loud if you are on this block as the rooms are right next to the wedding venue. This is where they have all their ceremonies so music is blaring out until about 1115pm most nights. Not great with a 4 year old! I asked to move but reception were not that great and said they were fully booked and basically there was not a lot else they could do.
Also the hotel is on a flight path, you sort of get used to the planes in the day but at night they are VERY loud. I’m not sure if this is the case in all the rooms in the hotel but certainly where we are staying. Maybe we are just unlucky. This would really put me off coming back again unless the other rooms in the hotel are more quieter?? I’m not sure.
Location. Excellent location to the beach obviously but not much to do if you fancy a stroll after tea. Actually There is no where to walk. There is a bus stop outside our hotel so we have been using this and going into kardiminia a few nights. I haven’t see many taxis out and about??
Overall a fantastic holiday with the family and so many positives just a shame our room is very loud so not much sleep unfortunately.

We have just returned from a pleasant week at the Atlantica Portobello Beach. On arrival we were dealt with swiftly and politely and given a lovely and spacious room in the new building. The resort itself is fairly small and doesn’t take long to get your bearings.

Good points:

Beach is excellent and ideal for children with shallow and calm water. Plenty of fish to see as well. No problems getting sun beds here at any time of the day despite what others have said. I’m not sure what beach they were talking about. Staff were always friendly and helpful despite the problems associated with them having to wear masks all day. Room was a very good standard, think we got lucky with a new one though.

The standard of food was very good for a 4 star all inclusive. It is very easy to book into the themed restaurants even though they are buffet style as well it was a change of scenery.

Evening entertainment was great. Enjoyed the external shows and also the nights put on by the entertainment team.

Bad points:

Impossible to get a sunbed by the pool. We didn’t manage to use the pool all week because of this. I came down one morning at 8am and they were all taken despite hardly anyone actually at the pool until gone 10am. The management need to do something about this. I honestly don’t think the pool area is big enough for the number of guests.

Queues at the buffet were unacceptable on a number of occasions. In my opinion the buffet area is not big enough for the number of guests in high season.

The bar and restaurant staff were all working as hard as they could but it was clear they were lacking in numbers. As a result you had to wave to get a drink and quite often you would be sat with empty plates for long periods of time. Queues for drinks at the pool bar and beach bar most times of the day.

No water provided in your room so you either have to buy it from the shop or take some reusable bottles with you and the bar staff are happy to fill them up for you.

Once the shows are finished over at the amphitheater, back at the hotel it all feels a bit stale. We only saw entertainment in the hotel bar on one night out of the 7 we were there (we did go out one night to Kardamena though). The sister hotel next door seems to have more going on and you can hear music until midnight most nights.

Overall we would consider returning but they need to have a few more staff around the place and enforce the sunbed reservation issues. Sort this out and stick a few bottles of water in the room fridges and the reviews will improve I’m convinced.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay. We appreciate that you shared the positive points and hope you had an overall enjoyable experience with us. However, we are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations in full; please allow us to express our sincerest apologies. Your feedback is very important to us. It is to our understanding that at this very busy period queues form during peak hours and when this happens our staff goes above and beyond to satisfy each Guest’s desire and needs. Surely situations as these may cause frustration and on our behalf we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We surely are trying our best to find a solution about the "unofficial sunbed reservations" by the pool, as this causes frustration to our Guests and is not a feeling anyone should be experiencing while on holiday. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problems you have mentioned in order to improve. We truly look forward to welcoming you back on a future visit and thank you for staying with us! Yours sincerely, The Hotel Management. Atlantica Porto Bello Beach

First time at this hotel, and in Kos.

It’s a lovely hotel, great room (family suite), food was nice and the staff were friendly (bar staff especially make an effort).

Plenty of food, occasional short wait at the bar for a drink (not an issue at all), and snacks available between meal times. Especially recommend an ice cream milkshake from the beach bar!

Our lovely room was cleaned every other day and the hotel was happy to provide extras (blankets, toiletries etc) when requested.

I would defiantly come back, but would highlight the pool is salt water and can really sting your eyes (especially when mixed with sun cream). I think the hotel could also consider adding time water dispensers so guests can access water more easily without waiting at the bar.

Overall a great holiday, lively hotel, hot weather and a beautiful island 👍🏻

My family and I stayed here for 2 weeks from September 6th until the 20th.

From check in to check out we couldn’t really complain, we were checked in fairly quickly and were assisted to our from rooms by Christoph, such a lovely guy and always willing to help.

Can’t complain about the rooms at all so spacious and clean, however due to covid rooms were being done every second day but housekeeping checked daily if you needed anything.

Restaurants were nice and always lots of options, we were in a large group and the waiters moved tables around for us and let us keep a table for 14 for our duration. There are 3 other restaurants you can back to eat which can be booked via reception or using a QR code which can be found by the arcade.

All the staff were so friendly and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure our stay was comfortable.

Pool was lovely although was a salt water pool which at first was a bother but eventually we got used too. The water park is literally across the road and free to use however drinks etc in the water park are chargeable but reasonably priced. Sun loungers were never an issue either.

Entertainment I felt needs to be improved it was the same thing most nights so once we saw one or two shows we left it at that and spent our time at the pool bar in the evening listening to music. When we first arrived there was never an issue with lines however the last few days it did get busy and it felt like the lines were never ending and it seemed to be they were under staffed.

While we stayed there we always went to the Spa, my massage was done by Andreas who was so tentative and calming and really ensured I was comfortable throughout the massage, I would recommend him 100 times over!

Local town/village is a short bus ride away costing €1.80 for one way and lots of choices for somewhere to eat drink and shop.

Over all we had a lovely stay here and would come back again.
