The Barceló Teguise Beach, an adults-only hotel, garners mixed reviews; guests praise its prime location near vibrant bars and beaches and commend the amenities like the cozy beds and well-maintained pools, particularly the in-room hot tubs. However, some travelers express disappointment with room cleanliness, maintenance, and slow service. Opinions on value and atmosphere are split, with some finding it lacking in liveliness and not always worth the cost, despite the professional staff and general cleanliness.

We had a fantastic post Christmas/New Year week in the winter sun. The hotel is perfectly located close to the seafront, buses, restaurants and shops. Check in was efficient with friendly staff providing a complementary glass of cava during our short wait. From reading previous reviews it appears that the rooms vary in layout. Ours had the separate toilet and separate shower with glass wall facing the bed, which does not suit everyone but this was not a problem for us. There was a full length mirror on the toilet door and a double mirror above the washbasin. The kettle and coffee maker were on a separate table by the door to the balcony so we also had plenty of space for toiletries and hair driers by the washbasin. The fridge, also under this unit, was quiet.
The bed was huge and comfortable. Everything was very clean (except for under the bed which, as in several hotels, needed a sweep - but we only noticed this when checking for 'lost' items on leaving. Despite the room backing on to a row of shops/bars we had a very quiet stay except for the B Lounge tipping bottle in to the bins some nights and the odd guest who could not figure out (or be bothered) to shut the heavy doors quietly - there's always one or two!
We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub on the balcony at various times of day but especially when the twinkling lights came on at night.
The buffet breakfast was excellent with something for everyone. Coffee was easily accessible from several stations. Tea served on request from the very pleasant staff.
We did not have dinner in the hotel as we prefer to sample the local eateries; all of which provided good food at reasonable prices.
The entertainment in the Champs sports bar was very good. We were very impressed by the couple of illusionists. Not to be missed (Tues when we were there).
The weather was pleasant but not warm enough for me to dip more than a toe in the two very inviting pools. Some were braver.
10 euros for an hour in the spa taking the 'water circuit' of bubble pool, sauna, steam room was reasonable as numbers are strictly limited to provide a really relaxing experience.
We utilised the local buses to visit adjacent towns; Teguise (immense Sunday market), Arricefe and Puerto Del Carmen. It is only a short walk from the hotel to the bus stop. We also enjoyed some walking along the coast and inland. Proper walking shoes/hiking boots are recommended for the volcanic paths but there are also long stretches of paved promenade. Cycles are also popular. We also enjoyed a day tour of the island; a visit to the national park of Timanfaye is a must.
We really enjoyed our stay in this comfortable hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful as were the residents of Lanzarote.
We hope to visit again for some winter brightness.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in January.
The buffet restaurant is surprisingly good for a buffet. Both breakfast and dinner have lots of healthy options. Both meals have three-hour windows, but fresh food is constantly rotated in so that even latecomers don't find themselves with limited options or stale dishes. The wine list for dinner is quite good, and the staff will mark and hold a bottle for you if you want to have it over a few days. The dining room was pleasant and always had plenty of tables available, and usually plenty of staff.
The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a console in the lobby that allows you to book rental cars, e-bikes, etc. This worked quite well.
They also offer a bike lock-up, which we appreciated as we rented bikes for much of our stay.
We found our room a bit small when we wanted to read in the evenings, as it was rather cool outside in January. We were not able to turn on our HVAC system which constantly replied "OFF" whenever we tried to adjust it according to the directions we received from the staff. Fortunately we were just warm enough at night.
I found it rather odd that we were charged and extra $3 per night for the key that made the room safe usable.
The housekeeping staff often failed to renew the tea packets, and the shampoo. I finally had to point out the difference between shampoo and bath gel when we wound up with six of the latter but no shampoo.
Overall, however, we really enjoyed our stay, and will probably return here.

Stayed here in between Christmas and new year, we stayed in a junior suite which was bright, spacious and clean. The suite had white company toiletries and very soft good quality robe and slippers. If we were to be super fussy the bed was too soft for us but for 3 nights it was ok we would have struggled if we had been here for a week.

The hotel has 2 pools which are both good sized, despite saying the hotel prohibits putting towels on sunbeds to reserve unfortunately they don’t enforce this like most Spanish resorts, so be prepared to get up and do this, otherwise you won’t get one.

We went all inclusive and that is the best value for money way of staying here. The Atlantic restaurant does buffet breakfast and dinner make sure you turn left and dine over that side, it’s more like a restaurant if you turn right and sit that side it’s more like a canteen. The food is really good and waiter service for drinks and clearing plates is good too. Lunch is served in either breeze or champs both places do nice food. My partner is pescatarian and there was plenty of vegetarian and fish options at all restaurants.

The B lounge in the evening is lovely for cocktails and drinks most of the singing entertainment there was pretty good, Champs singing entertainment was awful we saw an ABBA tribute act who struggled to sing most of the songs, in tired looking costumes it was very cringy.

There is also a gym which is well equipped and is particularly outside.
We used the spa and had a volcanic massage I booked in advance via email and got 15% off which I recommend doing. If you want to use the Sauna etc it costs €10 pp which I think is a bit cheeky if you have paid for a treatment but reasonable if you haven’t although usually when we stay in a hotel with a spa it’s included.

Other things to be aware of you have to pay €3 per day for the safe, we also requested late check out which was only €25 we thought that was quite reasonable as we got to keep the room until 3pm instead of 12 noon.

The staff were all very friendly and overall we very much enjoyed our stay.

We only ventured out of the hotel once the resort is a bit tacky but as you go further round there is a beach and some nicer restaurants.

I wanted to give this hotel five stars. It is beautiful, spotlessly clean, well decorated and well located. The food is excellent and being adults only is brilliant for those of us not wanting kids around. So why three stars then? Firstly we got a room overlooking the back street, next to the big recycling bins. Very noisy around 7 a.m. each morning. The hotel asks for feedback half way through your stay( brilliant idea) and did offer us a change of room, but I didn’t want the upheaval for just a few days. They then sent a bottle of cava. The big issue for me is people reserving sun beds with towels early in the morning, then not using them for hours. I hate this. It is unfair and discriminatory. Many hotels are now tackling this problem of selfish people by removing towels after ten minutes. It annoys so many of us, I wish this hotel had a policy on it. The whirlpool bath in the room was great but I wish one of the pools had been heated so that I could have had a swim!

Where to begin - we stayed in room 2049 which was sea view with jacuzzi tub as you can see from pictures.

The room had great facilities; a shower, safe (€3 per day to use) iron & board, a large wardrobe and you could request more hangers if required, a fridge, a Kettle, tea, coffee & machine in the room too. Always cleaned amazingly & restocked daily. There is a kids playground underneath 2049 but that didn’t really bother us at all.

The staff were FANTASTIC, friendly, attentive & funny and constantly went out of their way to help ! There is no pool service here if you are all inclusive (we were half board) and this suited us & food can only be consumed at the restaurants when open and not around the pool.

Location is great, beach in 5 minutes, a massive choice of food places for lunch and dinner so defo venture out to try places as we found some fantastic restaurants.

A very relaxing, adults only holiday which had chilled music throughout the day & most people chilled and read books or listened to music around the pool so was quiet & relaxing. 2 pools, one smaller (more for the picture viewpoint) and a second which was the main pool.

The breakfast & dinner buffet was always stocked up & they had a great array of food to choose from as well as juices, milkshakes and other drinks.

Evening entertainment (singers) started at 10pm every night and it was good, our favourite was Aaron he had a fantastic soulful voice. The staff will pretty much make any cocktail you want even if it’s not on the menu.

We were SO glad we picked this hotel after looking at a few in the area and not being too impressed with the reviews.

If we ever come back to Lanzarote we won’t hesitate to book here again!

Thank you so much for such an amazing week.

The hotel is in a superb location next to the beach, dozens of restaurants and bus stops. The reception area is striking and very tasteful and the reception staff are very helpful. The food is delicious and varies every day so it's difficult to be bored with it although an obvious shortage of staff on occasion meant difficulty in ordering tea and coffee to the table. The quirky side involves the strange bedrooms. The bathroom doesn't really exist as a private space. This is because the sink is 'open plan' and in the bedroom adjoining the fridge and right next to the bed. The shower also appears to be in the sleeping area with only semi-obscured glass looked into from the bed!! At least the toilet is private and at leat the bed is wonderfully comfortable. Lots of large plump towels and pillows always provided. Rooms not over-looking the pool are larger and we prefer them. Overall the hotel is good, spotlessly clean and worth staying in if you don't mind a lack of privacy whilst washing. There's no hanging space for ladies' dresses at all. Only shirts.

Firstly, location is great. Right next to Old Town therefore less than a minute walk to lots of restaurants.

At first appearance, the hotel looks fresh & newly renovated overlooking the water with great views. However upon staying at the resort many quality issues arose. Firstly our room key didn't work even after getting a second one at the front desk. It turned out the electronic key box needed to be replaced. The towels were fraying. There was zero light near the closet/entrance therefore I couldn't see anything inside my suitcase. The shower flooded if you weren't careful to shut the door immediately after taking a shower. The bathroom door hit the panel on the ceiling and would stick to the panel making it difficult to shut the door. The hallways echoed so whether it was housekeeping or guests speaking in the hallways, you could hear echos as if through a tunnel, loudly and from our room.

Apparently all the guests were sick with terrible colds, of course not the fault of the resort, however, it made the breakfast buffet feel like a germ incubator. Perhaps providing hand sanitizer as a precautionary would help make things feel more sanitary.

On a positive note, the front desk was very sweet and spent a great amount of effort trying to guide us to the best restaurants. However it was shocking on the first night we asked for a seafood restaurant and they sent us to a pizza joint when instead of great restaurants right in Old Town.

We stayed at the Barcelo Teguise Beach Hotel in January and travelled with Jet2. We had a sea view room which in retrospect was a waste of money as the rooms overlooking the pool have a better outlook. The sea view room receives no sunshine at this time of year and the area outside is currently undergoing building work and is scruffy, noisy and not very attractive. This made the balcony with its whirlpool bath virtually unusable. The room itself was OK with a large comfortable bed and a settee, the shower is excellent although the washbasin seems to be designed for giants.

There were three things that really stood out at this hotel, the quality of the breakfasts, the Lavazza coffee machines in the rooms and at breakfast and the excellent staff who answered all our requests with polite enthusiasm.

The evening meals are good but not up to the standard of the breakfasts. The costs of drinks in the restaurant were reasonable but would have appreciated the Lavazza coffee machines being available in the evening.

The pool area is OK the sunbeds are not very comfortable and there are no seats. The pool is on the cold side but I did go in every day for a swim, the jacuzzi section did not work at all.
There is nowhere comfortable to sit outside with a drink.

A tip if you travel to Lanzarote and are a bit old and decrepit like us, book a taxi transfer to avoid the hike with your suitcases to the coach transfer park which appears to be in a different towm.

This is an excellent hotel in a good location; efficient check-in with a glass of cava, friendly staff, good facilities and spotlessly clean. We booked a Sea View room with hot tub and weren't disappointed. The rooms are furnished to a high quality with large, comfortable double beds with choice of pillows, soft towels, good quality toiletries, coffee machine and large tv. We only ate breakfast in the hotel but there was always a huge choice of cooked and fresh foods, juices and pastries. We would definitely stay again if we returned to Costa Teguise.
