Turned up without booking on a Saturday. The restaurant was quite full and maitre'd said two big bookings so orders on hold for an hour. Gave us options so we decided to stay for a drink. When one of the large groups took so long, she came back to say she could squeeze our order in. Nice wines, beers and...

Had family dinner here. On offer were pizzas and lamb/fish etc meals. Children's menu a cut above average, so a good place to take children as there is plenty of space for outdoor activities and an interesting garden for a stroll. Dinner a bit disappointing. Had heard good things but my fish main was dry, with accompaniments also dry. Service...

Wow! What a gem we found. Off the main road at Karangahake Gorge, Waihi. The most beautiful rustic looking restaurant I have ever seen. The food was 10/10, with salad and herbs grown on the premises together with a wood fire pizza, absolutely the best lunch. Definately will return for evening meal one day.

We randomly stopped at the restaurant on a very mild and sunny Tuesday afternoon. I am so happy we found this gem. We sat outdoors and were greeted by very friendly waitstaff. We tried the seafood pasta and the salmon salad. We did not have any other meals that compared to these during our trip. The seafood and vegetables were...

Who would have thought!!! A fantastic cafe/restaurant in the middle of nowhere. The setting is amazing. Very quiet with a lot of trees and native birds. At the beginning of the month I organised to have my sisters birthday there. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The service was outstanding and with thirteen people we got our meals in a reasonable time....

We had come to Paeroa for the Rail Trail experience and we're lucky enough to be able to rest our weary bodies here, while partaking in a coffee. We returned later that evening for dinner, drawn by locally grown produce and promise of some amazing wines! We had a very pleasant evening and we're not disappointed with either the wine...

This place was one of the highlights of our trip. We dined al fresco under beautiful lush green trees with string bulb lighting glowing between the leaves. It was romantic even while we had the kids. There was a great playground with a huge wooden fort for them to climb on plus two swing sets. Their vege garden is incrediable....

The most delightful, Bush clad restaurant. Gorgeous food. Great staff..the platter starter is delicious. But, so is everything on the menu. During the day the grounds have a kids play area. The tuatara wheat beer is nice and cool on a hot day. On cooler nights, sitting beside the open fire enjoying the pork belly or fish of the day,...

The Falls is one of those places you may just trip over but once found never forgotten. It is definitely a "must do this again" place. We were taken there by friends for dinner. The entrées were canapés which were sublime. The chef really showed his talent here. Mains were a slow cooked pork belly, slow braised beef, or fresh...
